I was extremely happy to find out that hulu.com had a cyber Monday deal for $12 for 1 year, I got home and tried to subscribe around 10pm, but the hulu.com website will go into temporary not on service, I tried 200 times with out any luck, the next day I contacted Hulu.com via chat, and all they can say is sorry, but you may subscribe today for $5.99 a month... REALLY after wasting hours trying to get the $12 a year deal... I'm done, Netflix never disappoints their customers
Started using as a replacement to Sony Vue. Not even close. Sony stopped the Vue service and needed something for all live and local content. A few months of Hulu and I think we will give up live/local content. Not worth the $50/mo. Ads drive you crazy.
At end of supposed free month I tried to stop my account. I was given a different end date than actual, so my c/c was chgd. I tried 10 times to cancel. Through calls, chats and email thru app. Kept saying try again. Finally called thru online contact #, & they would not give me my money back. Bottom line, there is no Free month to try it. Did not have enough shows or newest episodes, so I figured it would not work for me. I get better from my library for free. Horrible customer service.
Why the hell does hulu have 100 second commercials? It's probably to get you to pay more for ad free. I'm so done with this movie streaming app. It seems like every 5-10 minutes it goes to commercial for 100 seconds or more. The only reason I gave it 2 stars is because it has a lot of shows I like to watch otherwise I think Hulu is the dumbest app out there. Netflix has no commercials but Hulu does? I mean come on at least make it a less time it gets annoying and I'll definitely pay for another month of Hulu ever again. :(
The only reason they get 3 stars is because 11. 22. 63 is a pretty darn good show. Given this is only my first week but it's already extremely aggravating. The commercials aren't the end of the world. But if I have to rewind I'm forced to watch them over again. The system should know better. If I pause it and come back, all the sudden the episode forwards to the end. So now I have to watch the beginning commercials all over and fast forward but then I have to watch the mid show ones as well. And for some reason if the PlayStation controller is within 3 feet it will just start rewinding out of nowhere. I know I know something is wrong with my system. Ok. Netflix doesn't do this. I've had that for years. But it must be my connection, right? Please. Hulu has been around way too long to deliver such a poor interface. In this day and age the aggravation alone won't be worth keeping this for too long. Too many other sources for content to deal with this regularly.
On 12/9/15 i signed for the free trial but cancelled the service. They billed my credit card on 12/18/15 and on 1/18/16 even though it was cancelled. I emailed them for a refund stating that I obviously cancelled and havent used their service. I also asked them to look at the history to confirm that i am not using their service. They were only able to refund 1 of the two month they charged me. Whats the point of trial when you guys charge even after i cancel
Having been a member of Netflix for a couple of years now and being happy with that service, I thought I would give Hulu a try. I had been very happy with Hulu up until yesterday. During one of the commercial breaks while watching a half hour comedy, I was shown a very lewd trailer for an R-rated movie. I do not recall the movie name. I thought it was some kind of sick joke. The movie trailer featured male and female nudity (breasts and butt), along with such expletives as "$#*!" and "$#*!" repeated several times throughout the trailer. I was absolutely mortified! Thankfully no children were present. Extremely distasteful! This ad was completely out of place and over the line.
I hate watching tv on Hulu. It freezes up and starts a new episode when your in the middle of the last one MULTIPLE times. It hasnt just happened once, but repeatedly throughout the whole show. Its very frustrating and has been doing it for months. The only reason we still have it is because we keep getting free months but its very aggravating to watch. Would not suggest it.
Not a bad service, but I travel a lot and if I haven't logged in on my home network for 2-3 weeks, they block my access. Can't watch anything until you call them, they verify it's you and then the let you watch. Truly annoying that you pay for a streaming service that blocks your service if you are streaming from vacation. The good news I've always received quick service, but annoying that when I visit family or take a road trip with my camper I turn on my TV and it's blocked. Something to consider if you travel a lot.
I really like hulu's website. The design is easy to navigate, and the video viewer is simple and unobtrusive. It doesn't have upload, download, or rating capabilities, but that's because it's a content viewing website, not creation. Hulu does, however, have sharing capabilities, which is important for any website that wants to keep up with other websites today.
What took me 4 clicks to get to what I want now takes 8 to 10 clicks. The worst, most frustrating GUI available on streaming and on-demand content. I was told they have no intentions of going back or changing it so I canceled my service after years of devoted watching.
Can I just watch a live show without being cut off! Yeah I didn't think so. Save your money. If you want to watch live shows- choose something else. I guess I'm going with dish- I'll pay more but my show won't get buffered and go back to main menu - over and over and over and over
Classic case of take something that works and destroy it (to make it better). It used to remember where I left off in a show, now it almost always restarts the program. I paid for the ad free content and still to this day have found almost NOTHING that plays ad free. The extra money for ad free is clearly not worth the limited content it actually applies to. The only good piece is it is still cheaper than comcast.
How is it the streaming service that costs the most is the worst service available. Cant watch 1 game...buffers constantly, at least until its commercial time when they show nothing but distasteful trash. This is hulu with live tv folks. Dont waste your money
I never opted in for anything outside of the basic $11.99/month service. Then I got a rude awakening with a $42.26 charge for add-ons I didn't ask for. I then logged into my account to see that I had supposedly opted in for EVERYTHING at almost $100/month! I requested a refund and an immediate cancellation. If they had appealing programming beyond "The Handmaid's Tale", I might consider forgiveness. But everything else is a yawn fest. So, buh bye, Hulu.
For the amount of one spent a month, every show I watch keeps freezing and and doesn't come back on. Definitely canceling my services with hulu! Fix your technical issues and errors. Money wasted on such a garbage app. If I could give 0 stars I would
Why am I PAYING to watch ads, frequently wait for loading, and not be able to share. I understand the not wanting to give out the password to 30 friends and have so many people abusing the system. But literally two of us in the same household cannot us hulu at the same time.
So, what? We have to have 4 different hulu subscriptions for the household. I feel extremely taken advantage of. It is ludicrous.
I use the service, but the amount of political ads are to much. They only portray a single opinion and seem overly targeted. This could be because only one group is purchasing ads for political use but they appear more often then any other any other ad and I have yet to see a way to disable these ads. I'm planing to continue using the service but if I find out that these ads were not purchased or are being over represented by Hulu in an attempt to manipulate political views then I will be dropping the service and will endeavor to convince my friends to do the same.
I pay for Directv. I don't need Hulu other than Directv removed all of the on demand content of past episodes and now Hulu has those rights. If I want to watch reruns of anything I either have to record it on my Directv genie and never delete it, or pay for Hulu. Well now Hulu wants me to sign up for their Hulu+TV just to watch certain shows. 100% will never ever pay Hulu a dime again. You're just effing with consumers to get every last dime from us. Later Hulu.
I never do reviews, but I am so unhappy with the new user interface they have rolled out. I primarily view on Roku devices, so I am just now dealing with it. I went online and have seen overwhelming negative responses to this UI. I called Hulu and was told in no uncertain terms that they had no plans to address these issues and make it more user friendly. I canceled my subscription. It's disgusting how little they value their consumers.
Answer: Not worth it since they updated their interface into an unusable mess. Customer service is awful, stay far away.
Answer: Happened to me. Stay away from hulu. My systems is high speed and works great with YouTube 4k and Netflix 4K HDR. Hulu obviously is bandwidth limited which might work for customers who watch old movies but their technology is not good for 1080P and modern technology.
Answer: It's hulu yet clearing the cashe every time before starting Hulu is substandard there overloaded
Answer: Yes & with Hulu Live you get all of the local channels like CBS, NBC, Fox & ABC. The shows are clearer too because of the way they come in from their On Demand libraries. I love Hulu Live & was so tired of Dish for a few reasons. You should just try it. You get the first seven days free & can cancel anytime. No contracts, equipment or bullshit. All you need is a good strong internet signal which most of us have today. My monthly bill was $100 with Dish. My new Hulu Live bill is $80, but that includes no commercials & an extended cloud DVR where you can fast forward through commercials on recorded shows. You also get access to their whole Hulu library.
Hulu has a rating of 1.7 stars from 1,179 reviews, indicating that most customers are generally dissatisfied with their purchases. Reviewers dissatisfied with Hulu most frequently mention customer service, credit card and free trial. Hulu ranks 202nd among Streaming Movies sites.
