I am overweight, so I have the model that is considered bariatric. Problem is, right in front where you need to stand in order to sit down, there is the motor, a huge bulk. Try to step around it, it's almost impossible to do and I'm not that short, 5'6". If the seat swiveled it would be fine, but not an option on this model. So after one day I called and said come get it. Still no word on when.

Their customer service is very nasty and does not criticism very well. You can never get a knowledge responsible representative to actually fix the joystick that is very temperamental and the chair itself runs very slowly outdoors and has a short battery life compared to other chairs. It took weeks to get parts that were told would be here in 5-10 days and when they sent representative of the company, they did not adjust the joystick correctly and with my neuropathy, they have caused me injury while using the chair. I would not recommend this company and I am filing BBB complaint to their state of incorporation Florida and to the State Attorney General in New York and to CMS and Medicare and filing Medical Misconduct report with New York state of Health which along with insurance paid for this contraption

Getting customer service on the phone is very difficult and complaints are handled terribly by customer service

I was not comfortable with all the confusion during the several contacts and your limits on bringing my P.T. And your insistance on having an app't with my doctor. That has never been asked of her before! My medical advisors recommend cancelling this app't.

I read some kind of a thing from Hoveround saying Paul we care about you and we care about our customers and they have not done one thing to take care of my chair. I have bad wheels they were telling me they were going to fix that and it was gonna cost me $29 now it's 300 some they're wanting to charge For batteries and the tires that I need for my chair. The batteries went bad in my chair like dead won't take a charge. I had to go buy batteries myself from my from my wheelchair. I'm never ever ever gonna buy anything else from Hoverround and I'm gonna tell all of my friends and everybody I know, don't mess with Hoverround. It's not there they don't take care of you. They don't take care of their business like they say they do.

Hoverround is a piece of crap along with the Hoveround

I will never ever purchase another Hoveround chair. I had problems with my chair from the very beginning. Begin having them take notes then I had a major problem. It wouldn't run more than 15 minutes 20 minutes and then needed charged again. Oh they're gonna take care of it they said well they let the first of the year Come and go and now I have to pay for all the parts and the service. Well that's bull crap I'm never ever ever own another one of these hovercrafts and I won't let anybody in my friends know about them either in fact on Facebook if you want to come see you even more scathing review, Paul Derry

I started my quest to get a Hoveround back in October 2023. I went to my primary care doctor she filled out a packet of paperwork sent it over. I was told to go to a physical therapist. Which I did. She measured, had me walk, all that good stuff. She did her report sent it to Hoveround. Every week there was an issue. My doctor had to send more paperwork. The physical therapist had to change the wording on her paperwork, so finally in January, I get a call that the Hoveround is paid for and they're going to be delivering it, I wanted a swivel seat. Had to pay $99 and tax was a total of $139. No problem. Chair was delivered January 29. It's been in my den since then it is really hard to handle the joystick is very touchy. You try to go straight you go right or left. Try to back up. It doesn't stop quick enough so I was running into things, the swivel seat works. The reason I wanted this chair was so I could maneuver around my kitchen and be able to get up to my stove and cook. I have hip replacement. I am not supposed to bend past a certain point so the swivel chair got me close to the stove, but I had to lean further than I did before. So, the first day I parked it. It's been in my den and every time I look at it I'm just disappointed. Here we are in March. I get a call that I missed from Hoveround asking me to call them back and to be honest, I kind of forgot about it. Then I get a letter demanding that I call them. The letter said we have tried numerous times to reach you, etc. etc. So I called them I was told they had to pick up the chair because they weren't in the network of my insurance! Now mind you I haven't used the chair, so I'm OK with them coming to get it, but why after jumping through hoops are you just now finding out you're not in the network of my insurance? I would think that was one of the first things that would be checked. I told them no problem come get it. It has been of no use to me. I did say I wanted a refund for the swivel seat. They told me no you keep that! I had to laugh! I'm suppose to take the seat off of the motorized part of the Hoveround and keep it? Then they said oh no the supervisor said once they pick up the chair, they will refund you the $139, I told them I would not give them the chair if they're not going to give me a refund. How ridiculous is that I would have to pay Hoveround $139 for their mistake. I should've went with the local company it's just been a mess trying to find out when they're picking up the chair, I called the main number, they connect me to the insurance department, then they connect me to the billing department, then they're trying to connect me to the scheduling department and they disconnect me and no one has called me back. I am very disappointed I just can't get over the fact that it took them months and me having to do so much for them to find out they're not in the network of the insurance, I think they're billing department or their insurance department is incompetent. It would be a great chair if I was taking it out in public and having to use it for long distances, but it has been just a nightmare! End of rant!

THe company will not take my insurance for my power scooter and my doctor signed off on the forms 3 times. I feel the company is not of help to low income people who really needs the equipment.

My client just received his hooveround, absolutely worse chair for his needs. The first issue is it don't come apart to transport so he's still stuck at home, second he lives in an older home the car will not fit through some doorways. I have made numerous calls and no help in this matter. It's ashame The scooter store is no longer in business they were 100 times more customer active.

I haven't even gotten my Hoveround yet and the customer service is lacking. Confusion about my add on order. Confusion about the date they scheduled to drop it off. They scheduled for a day that the guy that was supposed to deliver needed off. Hopefully I get it during the next scheduled time! Kinda disappointing since they are so expensive and I already paid for it. They there is confusion about the accessories I ordered!

Both my wife and I are disabled. I got a hoveround MPV5 then 2 months later my wife got one we never really used them except to go to the doctor as we use walkers inside home to keep active and didn't have a way to transport other than the van that picks us up for appointments and these are far more comfortable then waiting 4 hours in hard doctor chairs. So neither has more then say 10 hours of actual use. But after warranty wore out then another 6 months I started getting notices to have it serviced at an extreme price, we are on a very fixed income. Then two months later the wife started getting the same notices then more and more. Then one day I went to doctor worked fine got home plugged it in everything was fine then next morning nothing wouldn't move wouldn't nothing wont charge used wife's charger nothing but hers would charge on my charger or hers then exactly two months later hers did the same thing one day fine the next nothing. This is obviously not a coincidence and wouldn't you know we have not received one service notice since they have a built in fail date I have talked to many health equipment suppliers and none carry these products any more as they all say the same thing they are built to cost you far more money in the long run then just the overpriced purchase. This is a scam against some of the most vulnerable people and they just keep ripping us older Americans off do yourself a HUGE favor and buy something anything else.

I had my Dr. Apt. Set for two and a half weeks and still I got call after call from your company about making the Dr. Apt. To have the mobility exam even though your Rep was on the phone when the Dr. Apt. Was made! Your company has also been NO HELP with getting batteries for my old chair, I have tried for two months to get them so I don't run out of power going to the store before I get the new chair. When the Doctor sent the prescription for the batteries You called to tell me I needed the mobility exam again both times the prescriptions for the batteries were sent and still I have No Batteries. This company was Great before, this is my fourth chair, what is going on now! I don't know what has changed to make this so confusing but I wish you would fix the problem a become the you were before.

I love the hoveround wheel chair, it's dependable, comfortable but I can't say anything good about the service! My axal is bent & in desperate need of repair. I've been waiting a month for service! This is inhumane!

First call dead batteries in first 6 months was ok. They said within load test so nothing they could do. 6 months and 2 weeks later, batteries only lasting about 1 block of travel or 1 hour of just sitting, which ever comes first. 3 calls and were told each time, "We're working on it"

User stranded between room and lunch area 3 times in 2 days. HELP.//// Calling again today. Will see whats up and report ASAP on answer. Over a week of waiting and no help yet.

We started this back in March, its now September, still no further then what we were 6 months ago. My husband needs the chair now. Doctor has did everything that Hoveround requested. People seem to be very nice but no one wants to try and speed this along. Very disappointed and tired of waiting.

We started this journey in June to get my husband a Hoveround. So far we've hit a standstill... again. It seems my doctor can't seem to get the questions and information correct to the Hoveround people. I'm stuck in the middle between them and my Doctor! I think the two of them could talk and get it right! I have to say the Hoveround people are very nice when I talk to them.

Upon the chair arriving the tech proceeded to walk around measuring as I watched a video he brought the chair into my house, the first disappointment was him telling me the seat does not swivel and that to get into my bathroom would be a tight fit, after he left I? Started to test the chair and found I could not get into the bathroom at all, not happy I will continue to try using it for a couple of days and most likely have them take it back

Don't believe little or no money. They are allowed to double the price if you use insurance. 20% of $4500 is $900
The chair online is $2800. Where is this fair for you or the ins. Companies? People are selling the same chair for $500. Online!

My mom has had her power hoveround wheelchair for approximately 2 years now. After 1 year, already had to have a new battery. Now another year later (2 years of owning chair), it now needs a "power stick" to the tune of $900! This chair is mainly used indoors, so is not exposed to the outdoors much. Expensive and inconvenient ride!

We have a sidewalk that goes up small hill. Hover round had no grip and your client slid down hill and chair and client fell. Client is on coumadin and this could of been very bad!

This "SUPPOSEDLY" New Powerchair wobbled when it was delivered in August 2021, the representative delivering it made an adjustment and proceeded to tell me it will work itself out. The chair seems to be a used chair with wheels that are already worn, he mentioned the rubber mat that was loose on the foot guard in time will fall off, just superglue it back. This THING will not operate on wet concrete flat surface it SPINS out! What am I supposed to do when snow is on my ramp? DO DONUTS? I want to return this thing and get credit to get a POWERCHAIR that is dependable since it represents my legs & my being independent. Since being confined to this chair, something DEPENDABLE is needed for the PRICE HOVEROUND highjacks the INSURANCE for! It does not seem adequate for this thing delivered to me! 3-way call with Medicare, Hoveround, and myself led to an entirely different scenario than I was told when the chair was delivered. With HOVEROUND you cannot return the CHAIR after it has been left with you! WOW, never had customer service where you could not return a defective item before, According to Medicare, customers should be able to return the Medical Equipment that is not working for me! So CUSTOMERS be warned that with HOVEROUND what you get is what you are STUCK WITH! Car dealers as crooked as some can be, have a better policy than this!

Tip for consumers:
What you get when delivered is not returnable and your service is useless. I was on a 3-way call Medicare, Hoveround and myself and the company that issued my chair refused to allow return of a faulty chair! Basically you get what you were delivered and you cannot send it back for a return or refund, for any reason!

Basically serves the purpose of indoor transportation, but, elevators and thresholds are very dificult to navigate.
Now, red tape is threatening taking it from me. It is a Catch 22 or a case of can't live with it, can't live without it!

I followed their direction and moved swiftly with my doctor to hopefully secure the scooter which he recommended. A month has now passed, and I've never heard from your company again!?! An update would surely be appreciated, or have I fallen through the cracks?

I currently have my third Hoveround. Two bought by insurance and one that I bought. (I am responsible for maintenance on that one.) On the first one service was great! The next one was a different story. The Service Reps. (not the technicians) are rude and condescending. They act as though "it's us against them", like you are trying to beat them out of something.

For example: After eight years of depending on a power chair, I am familiar with symptoms of weak batteries; short life and long recharge times. For one thing the newer batteries are inferior and therefore the cheapest they can provide. If I get stranded by failed batteries I have to call for assistance. The Tech practically accused me of working the system.

Judging by the charges that I see on my Medicare and BC&BS statements, they are the ones working the system. But they can blame it all on Medicare...
