Bait and Switch

Tried to purchase (twice) the Austin Air HealthMate Plus Air Purifier HM450, sold by Clean Air Solutions LLC, for the advertised amount of $594.99. Each time I clicked purchase, the confirmation email said I purchased the Austin Air Healthmate Room Air Purifier (HM400). Though there is no difference in looks, there is a huge difference in performance. The HM450 filters smoke, where the HM400 does not. After speaking with customer service, they offered the HM450 for $714. I asked if they were now not honoring the advertised amount and they replied with offering the product for $714. I explained that if I wasn't diligent with the order, that the wrong product would have been delivered and I would have been extremely upset. Houzz explained that the product would be removed from their site until the issue could be corrected. I checked 24 hours later, and the product is still be sold the same way. If I caught this issue the first time I used Houzz, how many times has this happened to others in the past?

Maybe the worst Customer Service you can get. We were in contract for 1 year. At the end of the 1st year we received a call from our account manager * letting us know the contract was up and if we wanted to expand out territories. We only received 1 job for the whole year from houzz so we decided our advertising budget would be better spent with Google adwords or Yelp. So we canceled. Almost a year later we noticed we are still being billed (Partly our fault but we dont check our credit card charges that closely as there are around 500-600 transactions per month on that card). So we try to call houzz to cancel again. It took about 2 weeks for anyone to get back to us as you first have to call customer service so they can send an email to *, so * can email us to schedule a call time. (In the mean time of waiting for this call from * we have been billed again). * finally calls and says that in order for us to cancel we have to send a cancellation agreement to her in which there is a 4 month penalty to cancel or the length of contract remaining. I explained this contract should never have been renewed as we spoke about it. She didnt recall. I asked to speak to a supervisor and she did not want me to. After a few minutes of back an forth she finally gave in to such an absurd request and said it would be approximately 2 weeks before any supervisor could reach out to me. This is where we are now. I will follow up with how it Pans out.

As far as the actual advertising we only received 1 or 2 calls per month on Avg and the customer base was not very good. Lot of people just trying to get pricing that are not ready to commit. Adword or Yelp we have had far better luck and a far higher close ratio.

Stay far away from this company last week I purchased a TV stand starting to furnish a very large house wanted to see how the quality of their merchandise was one just to let everybody know everything comes from China with that being said I never received my order houzz sent my merchandise to a different address they wouldn't own up to it and pick it up and deliver it to me actually they wouldn't do anything they wouldn't refund my money they wouldn't admit anything they knew they sent it to the wrong address I uploaded a picture of my order with the address the only address to send it to they wouldn't help they don't care you can't get anybody on the phone nobody does anything so remember if you order from them and you don't receive your merchandise there's gonna be nothing you can do so let me tell you just in case this does happe
Remember when you charge it on your credit card everybody has what's called buyers insurance call your credit card company and issue a charge back they will then investigate 99.9% of the time they're going to rule in your favor you are the one that owns the card and you are the one that spends money and pays them each month don't let these companies get away with trying to scam anybody the fact that they didn't even send FedEx to go pick up the package and bring it back to me I have all the proof and all the messages I received from and I'm more than happy to share them with everyone so again stay far away from HOUZZ

The worst online buying experience I have had over 20+ years -- EVER. Echo many of the other negative reviews. The company plays games on its pricing then lies about it, over-promises but under-delivers on the quality, the shipping process, and resulting transit time of its merchandise. Took 8 weeks, and 4 shipments to receive a simple bath vanity that supposedly was in stock and available in 2 days, which is why I agreed to their high price.

Repeated damaged shipments and other SNAFUs. To add insult to injury, when item was finally installed, contractor spent 2 hours looking for the source of a water leak, only to find a manufacturer's defect in the sink causing it. Were we not behind schedule on the project because of Houzz's earlier delays, would have ripped out the item and canceled my order. When I explained the situation, Houzz offered a nominal discount - which made the net cost still greater than a previous sale price, which Houzz refused to honor. SMH.

Very sharp business practices in many other areas too, e.g. standard shipping terms call for their 3rp party shipper - who in turn uses other 3rd parties to drop freight (200+ lb item) on the street. Houzz expects customer to have a pallet jack or four strong men on-site to move purchased item(s) into the house or garage. None of their people use last names -- clearly hiding, and navigating through their customer service / call center in Irvine, CA is near impossible (surely by design.)

One might expect this type of operation were it operating in a third-world country whose consumers have lower customer service expectations. However, Houzz is based in Silicon Valley, charges Silicon Valley prices, and is backed by top-tier venture capital and professional investment firms, see: https://www.crunchbase.com/organization/houzz#/entity. Wonder if these investors realize what a terrible company they own...?

LED Mirrors - I bought 2 mirrors and saw that they were being shipped to my billing address which was wrong, so I called them to tell them the correct address to ship it to. One day I get an email saying they had tried several times to call and email me regarding the change of address, and that if I didn't respond within 24 hrs, they would cancel the order.

Really? That was the first email I had received and I don't answer calls from numbers I don't recognize. They did not leave any voicemails either. Plus, I had assumed that the phone call I made to them sorted everything out. I guess the line of communication got broken along the way.

After all of that, I emailed them back and they verified the new address etc. And guess what - the mirrors were still shipped to the wrong address.

Bed Frame - I ordered a Cali King-sized bed frame and the delivery dates kept changing on the tracking service. One day, I got a call from Houzz saying that the bed frame was backlogged and that it would arrive even later. I told them that was fine. Then they emailed me again to tell me that. That was fine too.

Yesterday, I looked at the tracking info and it said the bed frame was to arrive later that day! I emailed them and they said oh don't worry about it if the carrier hasn't called to confirm a delivery time, then to disregard the tracking information. So what's the use of the tracking information?

Also, in her email, she said it would be curbside delivery. CURBSIDE? I live on the 2nd floor and they will be dropping it off for me to lug a Cali King sized bed frame by myself and assemble it by myself. When I voiced that, the lovely, ditzy customer service rep asked: " Do you have family or friends to help you?"

Yes, Houzz, that's akin to buying a car and being told later that I would only be sent the parts to assemble the car myself.

Ridiculous company. And we wonder why Amazon is as successful as it is.
