Good website, GREAT price for 3 years. Transferring the domain name was a complex experience. Host Gator did help, but it took 3 weeks to get it right. A little disappointed about HostGator not having their own site builder, but once I figured out how to set up Wordpress I assume I'm better for it... being that if I need to switch hosts in the future, I might be able to do that without creating a new site.

So I started a migration of my Wordpress website off of GoDaddy 4-5 days ago. Unfortunately, the Hostgator techs could not access my GoDaddy C-Panel to migrate my web app files and SQL database due to firewall issues on the GoDaddy portal which I could not whitelist. After many chats and a few online phone calls, we were able to plow ahead and get the job done. Very happy with Nishmitha tonite because he/she accomplished the final steps to get my website, scribbleimages.com, back in perfect order. And it is much faster on this Hostgator platform than it was on GoDaddy. So far, very happy with the outcome. I am in their Shared BABY hosting plan - saving a lot of money with more capability than I had with GoDaddy - what's not to love.

Hello, I have almost purchased 3 server from hostgator, from India for my various customers. Unfortunately on hostgator.com there are no support for Indian clients as having US number only and live chat option (which rarely working else no response). At may occation I tried to contact them on live chat but even though after waiting many hours, there is no response and it keep loading. No email or no other support and even 1-2 time I got to connect them but not getting server level support at all. Even though still there are 2 years pending from 3, I have moved all my website to another service provider and do not want to get any further service from hostgator. They do not have any concern with their clients. I do not recomonded any services from hostgator at all, if you do not want to waste time and money.
I had been holding off for a few weeks for a issue with my Subdomain and how it was pulling up on the Web - When using my HTTPS Address the Site would become jumbled up (Wordpress) however with HHTP Non Secure it would look fine - The Agent that Helped me was friendly and professional and was able to reload the SSL to our Account and get the Blog Sites under our Domain TechtalkRadio looking as they should! I wish I would have called earlier! Thanks Host Gator for Bieng the Best Service Available

This is the worst experience I have ever had with a website. After setting up my website on Hostgator, I have received thousands of calls, texts, and emails from solicitors, spammers and scammers trying to sell me website creating services. Blocking them doesn't help with the call volume, purchasing the privacy package does nothing to stop the calls, their website doesn't let me change my contact info to a new number, emailing their privacy service to ask them not to sell your personal information to 3rd party solicitors does nothing to help, and customer service has been no help at all in resolving this. Customer Service told me I have to wait until my one year subscription ends before they can take down my site. Seriously?! I have had the same phone number for the last 20 years and for the first time ever, I am going to have no other choice but to change my DAMN phone number. It would nice to have had a WARNING not to put your real contact info when setting up the website. Horrible experience.

No status updates; one rep politely told me to stop calling; reps did NOT convey the problem accurately.
All reps were courteous and read the standard paragraphs. A couple were excellent and tried to help but they are constrained. The phone number given to me was for another company "Blue Sky"
This link they gave me kept redirecting to hostadvice.com (a coupon marketing site whose OWN contact webform doesn't work) Finally today i tried once more and this form came up.
ALL THIS APPEARS TO THE CUSTOMER AS A SHAM TO DEFLECT ANY FEEDBACK.

Along the way I did stumble across an allegedly HG rep on twitter who said to contact him/her in problems like this. I would think HG would want to keep dirty laundry out of social networks.

I had the great pleasure or working with a representative named Angel, and she just might have been just that! I had called 30 minutes earlier to have my issue of being locked out of my account resolved, but the 1st person I spoke with could not fix nor explain to me why the screen said "failed security test" when I tried to log in.
I am so glad I took the time to call back. Angel was the person I got on the line this time. She was extremely knowledgeable, calm, and engaging—being sure to explain what she was doing each step of the way.
My situation was urgent since a whole chapter of people would be coming to the site for the first time this afternoon. Angel easily resolved my issue and explained what had happened, while the first individual gave me a number to MOJO she said provides 24/7 support but was not open when I called after hanging up.
Angel is EXCELLENT and Host Gator would have the top rated customer support of all time if every representative was like her in both knowledge and demeanor.
