I've been with Hostgator for many years. Things used to be easy. Now everything is super-convoluted and hugely frustrating. Please stop changing everything just for the sake of it. All I wanted to do today was change my credit card because I no longer use the one I had on file. So far, I haven't come close to figuring out where and how! (And this is not the first time I've given up in frustration with Hostgator admin systems)
I'm sincerely happy that you offer live real time and real person support. I am a victim of identity theft and if everything were left to AI I probably would not have had a positive outcome. Than you for offering real people who can get o the phone. In this age of identity theft it will be even more important than ever.
I've been really pleased with my experience using HostGator. The customer support has been outstanding-very responsive and helpful whenever I've had questions or issues. Overall, I'm happy with the service and would recommend it to others looking for reliable hosting.
Trying for days to get auth codes for my domains with HostGator. After a lengthy chat, the representative writes, that he has sent an email with the codes and I should receive them shortly. One day later: still no codes 😡. Very frustrating experience.
An issue on my account regarding two subscriptions is still appearing even though it's been addressed several times with my card being mistakenly charged and now i can't remove it. This is truly becoming a big problem for me.
Good luck that is trying to reach someone regarding a website hosting problem. Not only have I spent dozens of hours waiting to talk to someone about a specific situation, but half the time you receive invalid information to fix the problem. And you guessed it, you get to call back and wait in the que for another hour...hoping you get someone this time who actually knows what the real fix is to your problem.
Then there's the privacy option they sell on top of your package to protect your personal contact information from the circling buzzards that want to help you get your website all fixed up. Don't fall for it! I think it actually attracts them right to your phone. I've had to block nearly 500 calls from such little scammers. End result I will never waste any more time dealing with their inferior services.

HostGator seemed like a good fit for me when I chose it. Now, however, whenever I open HostGator it's clear that your greatest interest is selling additional features rather than letting me get to what I want to do directly. That is always a bad sign, in my opinion and greatly reduces my confidence in management.
When I originally paid for the server, it was only about $2 for the baby account with virtually unlimited space and bandwidth and unlimited websites. I had a horrible time with customer service multiple times. It took over 2 months to "figure out an issue" for a domain that was giving problems. Now, I'm limited to the amount of websites I can have, limited on storage. I just don't want to deal with that kind of service again, especially after being limited when I was never limited before.
Extremely bad and irresponsible scam company that can give me a miserable refund for more than 2 months. Have extremely illiterate customer support who make a lot of mistakes during our infinite conversation where I tried to get my refund. All of customer support agents are from India with a really bad quality of communication.

After so many issues with email, glitches and layout issues in control panel, I've now had payments taken from my card for services I never selected. This is probably the 5th hosting provider I've used, but easily the worst
Hostgator had been great for years. All of a sudden the service is awful, problems not address and no concern to resolve. When you can't access two domains for months and the resolution offered is an extension of a month of hosting?! What? Why would I want an extra month of NOTHING!? Looking to move to another hosting at this point. Very sad to watch another company drop the ball.
Completely amazed with the lack of professionalism and completely annoyed after almost 14 years and problem after problem with migration Hostgator has let me down once again and my sites have been offline for more then 3 days with no way to get access and am at risk of loosing major clients
Your system sucks for the last few months. You've changed my plan, limited what I can do, and now I can't even find billing on your crap system. I'm about ready to take all my business somewhere else.

I have been told multiple things by multiple people regarding the transfer of our domain name to hostgator from domain.com. I am very frustrated that you all are not on the same page when it comes to customer service and am considering taking my business elsewhere.
I was a long standing client in my last business. This experience has been and remains horrible. The company must have changed hands, certainly leadership. It is confounding the total lack of service and competence that support gives. Up to and including illegal and predatory practices. It truly shocks the conscience.
My last 3 calls have not been pleasant experience. Technicians seem unwilling to help resolve my email problem. Some of your technicians are simply AMAZING. I usually give a 5 star rating but this 1 star is purely for the last few calls. Thanks
Very poor integration of changes made in Nov. That were not made known to front line and above support techs, regarding admin privileges. Logging in requires so many steps just to get to cp because of the non stop promotions. Nothing is one click access. Terrible design. Also, they push you towards chat vs phone support but you ask a question on chat and wait ±5 minutes for any response, which tells me they are juggling who knows how many calls. Lastly, please change the on hold music to option OFF

Answer: If you go straight to smartchat, it is very easy - you only need to find the smartchat button. I have worked with the Internet since web browsers were invented, so I know most of the answers already. That means that when I have a problem that I can't solve, it is going to be a real stinker for HostGator support to solve - I only bring them the difficult ones. Recently, I had an ISP who gave me terrible service, and the internet kept dropping out every few minutes. The Hostgator smartchat expert kept contact with me on and of for about an hour and three quarters until he had worked out the answer for me. That is what I call RELIABLE service.
