Your new interface is really crap. You configured $#*! in my domains that I never asked for.And when I try to make changes, it often doesn't update or there are still some ghost things bugged. I will probably change hosting soon.
I am a light user. I have a blog where I post two or three times a week. It is not a blog that I advertise. Half a dozen (or less) friends know that it exists. For my uses, I have only one complaint: supposedly my blog should be accessed by my_blog.com (fictitious name), but it only works with my_blog.com/home. I tried all the tricks in the book to remove /home, that I could find, without success.
I see that you have a new UI which does not include easy and quick access to Order History. The only reason I log in to your system 6 or 7 times a year is to download receipts for tax reporting purposes. I used to be able to access those right from the landing page once I logged it. This time I had to work to find where Order History was hidden and it requires a few more screens to get there. Poor attention to the user experience in my book.
Chosen by an employee years ago. My firm has down-sized and now it is just me. So I just continue with HostGator. But I don't know what the different services my firm is in are for & what they cost. I now have minimal income & will like to just do what I have to while having hosting & e-mail.

My website was pointed elsewhere and put up for auction. Neither wordpress, hostgator or the criminals from godaddy were of any help. I have cancelled my Hostgator account as it is of absolutely no use to me and I have been paying them for nothing for six months now.
Cost and support, until your Support team accused us of being idiots and treated us like children. No feedback on Sales because they never reached out after several attempts to contact them. We have moved hosting providers and auto-renew is off.
Php 8 not installed been waiting and chatted with support nothing until then -1 stars if I could been warned of not switching sooner and even upgraded but that was a downgrade from what i had thought upgrading would get you more options but I got less.
Chose hostgator for price and recommendations many years ago. Would not choose it now. Service has really gone down. Ive had numerous issues in the past couple of years, which were not resolved, or needed several calls to resolve. Each call takes about an hour or longer to resolve or be told that there's nothing that can be done. Have to constantly talk to people who don't understand and don't speak english very well, reading off a script and just unwilling to give the phone to someone who could either explain something to me or resolve my issues. Ive also lost 80$ in conversion fees because some dumb idiot charged my account without my authorization, and i was issued a refund at a different conversion rate than when i was charged.
Absolutely horrible service, horrible company. Im only here because I really don't have the time to migrate to a different service. NEVER recommending it to anyone, including my clients for whom I do web dev
I have contacted support 5 times now, and issue is still occurring. Site is unstable, plus I cannot even manage my domain, as I get a 404 error. I believe that this is due to having our domain for some reason appearing twice, and can't get to the settings for either of them without getting a 404.
Case was closed without even reaching out to me to see if everything was working or not. Unless my issues are resolved within 24 hours, I will be asking for a complete refund, so I can take my business elsewhere.

I've been traumatized by customer service with providers like Bluehost, but the customer service is leagues ahead. With Bluehost I would ask for something and be lied to, gaslit and taken advantage of. That has not happened once with Hostgator.
I've been with Hostgator for many years. The new panel is awful - missing half of what I routinely use, obscure with the rest. In particular I can find no way to cancel a redundant SSL and it's really pissing me off. Additionally, some of our sites began to fail because you added an automated WordPress core update, then switched it on without telling anybody, and then it worked like crap, not updating all files, thus rendering the sites unstable. Garbage.
I spent over $1200 on a VPS hosting account and I have had nothing but problems for days. Nothing works out of the box and this is supposed to be a premium hosting account. My old Platinum reseller account was a breeze to work with and it is supposedly older technology. I can't even install a simple Wordpress website without multiple errors in this Snappy account. Load speeds for my website and working with an FTP client is a nightmare, with the slowest server I've ever experienced from any hosting. I'm extremely disappointed and worried about future websites I need to install. I've spent countless hours with customer support and no one can fully resolve my issues. They say they've resolved the problems, then the next support rep finds a new issue that I assumed was fixed.
I've been here since 2008. I was with Register.com who were horrible. You guys were nice. However, now it's much more expensive, and I need to shop around. I'm trying to get someone to help me stay, but it's hard talking to a bot. They don't understand exactly what I'm asking.
I started HostGator with recommendations from another user way back 10+ years ago. You have helped me in many situations probably more lately than before. Today I am grateful for the upgraded servers and PHP. Thank you
I was on hold for two hours because I usually call in at night to avoid chat. I finally gave in and did a chat session and I was very impatient with the CSR when the chat initiated, but they handled it well and resolved the situation immediately with quick responses and gave me screenshots. The CSR should be considered for internal support group or a ops manager position based on the way they handled my bad attitude. Dont let this one move on. I use to be a call center manager so I value those who can be patient and put up with customers issues and impatience that was not caused by employee in the first place. My wife and I run a business where we help multiple small business, and always push them to use hostgator, and this is exactly why we favor hostgator.
Update your server dependencies, clean up your dashboard UI, stop harassing in the dashboard for paid upgrades, make basic navigation more simple and straightforward, hire more call center associates to field calls in less than 3 hours of hold time.

Recent experiences with "help" was atrocious. Took 3+ days to resolve a security issue. I do not feel valued as a customer. Also, issues with your billing page, which for some odd reason will NOT display the prices of items. I feel overall that since joining HostGator the quality has declined rather dramatically.
Because of Website Builder, but you took it away and now I can't use it. Bait and switch! That's illegal in California! Then you increase the rate by double each year for my hosting package! Bad company practice! But, your parent company was fined millions for fraud, so it's expected from HostGator now!
We having continued problems with the email system. Every couple of months our emails start going to spam. Your system should be updated automatically to prevent your customers emails being treated as spam rather than having to contact you every couple of months.
Your customer service is poor. Attempting contact and was left on hold listening to a recording for 30 minutes and no one ever showed up

Answer: If you go straight to smartchat, it is very easy - you only need to find the smartchat button. I have worked with the Internet since web browsers were invented, so I know most of the answers already. That means that when I have a problem that I can't solve, it is going to be a real stinker for HostGator support to solve - I only bring them the difficult ones. Recently, I had an ISP who gave me terrible service, and the internet kept dropping out every few minutes. The Hostgator smartchat expert kept contact with me on and of for about an hour and three quarters until he had worked out the answer for me. That is what I call RELIABLE service.
