I was told they could not fix it but I'm still expected to pay for something that doesn't work. Your customer service reps are the worst.
Everything was so easy setting up and building the website with Wordpress was easy also. Unfortunately I did the site for an organization that doesn't use it much and will not be renewing the domain name or the hosting space.
It was eventually resolved A to B by a knowledgeable terminal, 2 support personnel prior didn't know what they were doing and kept me waiting for over an hour for no resolution. Personnel should be trained on their duties.
I have been a customer with multiple accounts of hostgator for over 10 years. Easily the best hosting service I have ever used and I will always go to them for anything web related no questions asked! 10/10 recommend!
I was looking for a top tier host, and I've always liked HostGator's logo, plus I hate the name Go Daddy. Had I know changing website names would be so easy with HG. I would have been the first to sigh up without looking anywhere else. It's my favorite feature. Thanks!
I didn't receive an invoice for the last payment deducted and only knew about it when the bank contacted me for approval. We were also surprised by the amount but got it sorted after a couple of "chats".

It's really hard to get any feedback or help from HostGator...the 24/7 chat support was very help a while back but now it doesn't even do anything when I click on the button I've sent emails and still no response

I've had a few communication issues during my last few encounters to make some different changes to my previous setup, but everyone I spoke with & that helped me were very professional, knowledgeable & was willing to help me resolve my issues. I normally pass on leaving reviews good or bad but, I was happy to leave positive reviews after speaking with several staff members. Thanks & I look forward to using host gator for many years to come for my web building needs! Lately its hard to have any kind of human interactions with customer service if you have any kind of technical issues that may be unique & not in a forum question but its also a plus you guys have that access. I have had multiple communications with your team and get different responses depending on who I ask. 2 months ago, we asked you to push the new site live, yet it seems like that didn't happen until I spoke to the right person (I guess) who did something (?) and made it live. I still don't know if they know what they were talking about because we keep getting emails asking me if my site is live. I'm assuming, since we switched off the old plan to the new one, that it is indeed live, and when you finally kill the old plan, it will keep working as expected, but I am not feeling confident. I keep getting emails, and so I'm just waiting for everything to stop altogether.
Was okay in that I have a working and attractive website. Less than satisfied with lack of clarity for a layman trying to set it up. Still lack some features like communication links and blogs separate from normal web content.
Previous administrator was already with HG. I decided to take over the hosting myself under my own account. It was all downhill from there. Nobody speaks understandable English, representatives will outright lie to you (I was told multiple times I was holding for a supervisor. 1 rep finally admitted there was no supervisor). Migration team doesn't accept phone calls. Everything is translated through the customer service team, which can't help at all. I will never, ever use this company
I have just renewed my 3 year contract with HostGator as I have found them a brilliant hosting company with excellent customer service every time I have contacted them. Their support team have always been able to resolve any problems at the first contact I made with the team. Their C-panel is also very good and easy to use. Over the first three years I have never experienced any down time of my website apart from any maintenance procedures they inform me about and that is always done in a quick time. I have used several other hosting sites but HostGator is still the best and I will be renewing my 3 year contract again when it becomes due.

In general I found your service lacking. I was even blocked from being able to access my billing account for MONTHS. I put up with the drawbacks because you were a cheap option and I didn't have the time to hunt down another multi-site service and then migrate everything. That was until you increased your prices. Charging almost $45 a month for sub-par service is absurd.
If subscription expires there should be a 30 day grace period so that emails are not affected.
If the payment fails due to some issue in the card we need time to resolve it with the bank and if there's a public holidays, resolution takes longer time.

Answer: If you go straight to smartchat, it is very easy - you only need to find the smartchat button. I have worked with the Internet since web browsers were invented, so I know most of the answers already. That means that when I have a problem that I can't solve, it is going to be a real stinker for HostGator support to solve - I only bring them the difficult ones. Recently, I had an ISP who gave me terrible service, and the internet kept dropping out every few minutes. The Hostgator smartchat expert kept contact with me on and of for about an hour and three quarters until he had worked out the answer for me. That is what I call RELIABLE service.
