Every single hotel in my entire state was priced significantly higher on the hopper then basic walk in off the street price in every single hotel.

Their rhetoric gives you the idea that Hopper has it's customers best interest in mind. Once you have been charged (typically more than you're told you are being charged) they effectively disappear. Good luck if you need the stellar (VIP!) support they pretend to offer (as if it's free... oh, don't worry you will find a random charge on your credit card for this inept excuse for service), they can't be reached without an olympic effort. When you do reach them, they will lie to you, and/or refer you elsewhere. I was forced to cancel a flight, and every other entity on my canceled trip refunded my costs (serious illness in my family), but not Hopper. And I cancelled almost four MONTHS in advance! They told me to contact the airline directly, and when I did the airline told me that only Hopper could refund my flight. Hmpf! Hopper sent me a written message that read "we tried to advocate for a refund from the airline, but [the airline refused]..." Lying SOS. My only recourse was to dispute the charges, but even then they sent the credit card company a contract which showed a clause for cancellation in the small print on the second to the last page. So now the battle continues. Next stop (If the dispute fails): small claims court and BBB. (Hopper: SIYPZC)

Useless app

They don't have any straight contact number. Always you have to email and wait day or 2 till they reply. Always asked to pay for vip support which is useless as well. I booked to Delhi and they change my flight just 24 hours before departure time and I did not accept changes and they said it's beyond their hands. Then why you are there? Guys don't book through this app it's totally scam.

Hopper is a horrible app and their customer service is even worse! They scammed us out of almost 100$ and refuse to pay it back. Do not recommend this app to anyone unless you like losing money and being screwed. Contacted customer support and was basically told too bad so sad we already charged you and will not refund even though they provide ZERO services.

Avoid at all cost.
Long story short Airlines offers potections that are void if you book using #hopper. Protections like the 24h refund from American Airlines wathever the ticket you Buy. When needed you wont be refunded if you book with Hopper.
And obviously they'll tell you it's because of the Airlines.

So frustrating. Got cheated...

I booked a round trip flight to El Paso on hopper. I thought I might need to change some or all of the plans so I also bought the hopper flight insurance which very clearly said that if I needed to change my plans, the insurance could be used "for any reason, any time." Sure enough, I needed to change the second leg of my trip to depart out of a different city. I wasnt worried because I paid $40 per leg of the trip, for this very circumstance. When I called to make a change, hopper was really blunt about telling me that once I began either leg of my trip, I could no longer use the insurance. They forwarded to me some fine print that they claimed was their policy. It was not a disclosed policy however (which means no one but them knew about that limitation) and I spent several hours boiling over their really misleading claim of "any time, any reason." My time, my money, my good will wasted! Frankly, I would not use their insurance nor their service again and advise against them. Gotcha is not the notion which builds brand or loyalty. Good bye Hopper. Next time I'll use anyone else.

MISLEAD INFO

SCAM!
Never have I been so mislead by info, tried the price freeze, had carrot dollars to use, carrot dollars disappear AND THEN CREDIT CARD CHARGED & in US dollars when everything was quoted in CA dollars
After several conversation, of misled information. Lies, got no where! Just went around in circles, was not informed that card would be charged. Excuse after excuse, lied to. PLEASE
DONT EVER USE!

BE CAREFUL!

I've used Hopper many many times, but I will never use it again! I paid for a price freeze for a 2 bed hotel room, and when I go to book the room, it says the room is not available. The terms and conditions says Hopper must offer an alternative room with the same bed count. Hopper only offered a room with 1 bed. Of course I don't want the one bed, so I expect to be refunded, as the terms and conditions say I would if an alternative room with the same bed count is not available.

Hopper said to get my refund, I need to select the refund option that's available on the app. This option was not available for me. I showed them screenshots AND a screen record video proving EVERYTHING to them, and Hopper absolutely refused to give me a refund. Their reasoning was because the room was in fact available and the app is having issues, so this is why they can't refund me my money.

This is absolutely insane! If Hopper's app is having issues, this is not my fault. Do they expect me to fix the app, so I can get a refund?

Be careful! How often is the app going to have issues?

And the customer service is terrible. You will never get a response from the same agent, they take hours to respond and are very rude.

I've compared prices of Hopper and Expedia, and I don't mind paying $5 extra on Expedia from now on. I will never use Hopper again simply because there are no results from customer service. If you have an issue, good luck!

3x scammed

I am a single mother who travels for work with my child due to not having any family to help. I have gave this site multiple chances now because of the deals, but 3 x now my reservation was completely messed up. 1ST TIME: hopper glitched and booked my reservation and then cancelled it without any cancelation email. At least i recieved my money back within an hour. 2nd time they scammed me out of $307.40. I sent them everything they asked for including my bank statements where they clearly took out the money and they could not help me or refund my money due to not able to find my transaction in their system. The bank was not able to refund my money as well due to Hopper not being a fraudulent charge. SO ridiculous. Literally gave them all the proof and information they asked for with no resolution. 3rd time: I'm currently sitting in front of the hotel. They are not allowing me to check in so I contacted Hopper multiple times, through the app and phone and have no response for over 2 hours. No one has called, emailed, or texted me. I WARN EVERYONE DO NOT USE THIS SITE. THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT THEIR CUSTOMERS AND WILL DO AND SAY EVERYTHING TO NOT GIVE YOU YOUR MONEY BACK.

BEWAR! And Please take care. Hopper is a best a " low cost travel booking place" ( as they try to represent themselves) with lots and i mean lots of hidden cost. They may even fraudulently deduct money from your account without you even noticing it. Be extremely careful. I do consider Hopper a fraud company! BEWARE!

The service I received from Hopper while trying to get a refund for a last minute hotel cancellation was nothing less than excellent! I doubted getting my money back given the hotel policies but Hopper advocated for me to get a refund. Each person assigned to my case was very diligent and so helpful! The best part was the consistent update which allowed me to feel I had not been forgotten. I appreciate each Hopper team member who assisted me, especially Arnie for finally getting me a full refund!

I was issued a refund from hopper that was given in the form of a voucher. Turns out only a small amount ($30) of my refund can be used to go to a new trip. The money sits there and you are endlessly spending more. Terrible company. They should be investigated and shut down. Definitely see a class action in their future.

Hopper is a scam travel service

Company is a scam company that will immediately charge your credit or debit card there extra fees that they refuse to reimburse to your account, even if you request to cancel everything during the initial session. There are no humans to talk with, or ask questions directly. I had to dispute the funds taken from my account, even after Hopper told me that they canceled everything for me. They are a SCAM company.
I was able to book directly with another hotel on my own and save money.

SHADDY MARKETING TACTIC

Be Warned!
They advertise like a $17 to freeze the price of your ticket for a week but when it gets to the last screen to enter ur credit card info, it takes on another $73 to the service fee. So it now costs $90 to to freeze the price now. So if your not paying attention or (in my case) u walk away from your phone and your daughter grabs your phone and random presses buttons and confirms that on accident. It is hoppers strict policy to not refund your money or credit you account. They get one star cuz they stay clamn and polite threw this whole ordeal off just sticking it to me

I purchased flight tickets from Hopper because it always provided the cheapest deal after I compared different app platforms for the same routes. Also, Hopper can provide me with a timely solution once my flight was modified to the route which I didn't prefer by the airline. It is a very good platform to purchase flight tickets, strongly recommend it.

Scam

I wish I could give no stars. I went to book a hotel but somehow I ended up purchasing the price freeze. No big deal ill just book the hotel but it was not clear how to book properly with the price freeze. Canceled the reservation to book under the price freeze so I did not waste money. Nope it didn't apply the amount saying I choose to pay later and turned into carrot cash. Tried reaching out to customer support but it leads you in circles and there is no number to call. Sent an email and the information is EXACTLY what I found online, no help. End up canceling the reservation to rebook using carrot cash, bad idea. No warning was given or communication that the cash would disappear after canceling! WHAT A SCAM! Now they wont refund my money and I'm out $45 for a hotel I could have booked cheaper on the actual hotel site! DO NOT USE THIS APP!
