I used the hopper service to purchase a 2 night stay at a guest house in Harley England. Having booked stays through hopper previously and never having any issues I was totally unprepared for what happened next. Once I was able to gain access to my room I immediately tried contacting hopper to let them know of the appalling state of my room. On the App it stated that someone would respond in 24 hours. In order to get immediate help I would have had to pay. My room was not only dirty, it was extremely filthy with thick dust and debris covering the entire carpeting, dirty mask left in the room, dirty table, dirty bathroom, cold water from both the hot and cold faucets, just filthy all over. When I was finally able to report to hopper they offered me a one night refund which I agreed to accept. After sending them pictures of my room they told me that my request for a refund was being denied because their hotel partner told them that I was happy with my room. The pictures speak for themselves. Very unsanitary conditions as evidenced by the pictures. After 2 days of going back and forth hopper stated that they could not reimburse me because the merchant was not being willing to offer a refund. Please see attached pictures. Hopper in my opinion bears some responsibility due to their partnership with the slumlord of the guesthouse which is called Lenton Lodge. I booked through them, paid my money through them and I expected my issue to be resolved through them. I will be taking further measures to make sure that this does not happen to another unsuspecting guest.

I have nothing but frustration and disgust with this app. It has mistakenly used the wrong phone and email. I had a nice person on the other end of the wrong number and he and I solved our problem. Customer service is unreachable. I have made several email and app conversations with very little resolved. I totally find this whole app useless and as soon as my trips are over, I can't wait to delete it.

I am dealing with this right now and giving Hopper a chance to fix it before I go to the Better Business Bureau. I bought plane tickets and i hope that works out. Looking at cars hit price freeze to see what is was and charged my card. Tried to figure out what I did but got notified of a charge from my bank. Went in to see what that was about and now charged for the rental. I would keep the rental but need 2pm pick up and 2pm drop off but price freeze kept 10am and 10 am being told it can't be changed but can for an extra charge. I feel my price freeze should be refunded and my times changed? Why is this so hard? Got charged $9 too to talk by text. Now willing to refund that but can't do the 46.47 really?Their app is a scam! Watch where you tap! And how do I get my credit card out of there? It wasn't even my card‍The people you chat with don't even know what to do. I am calling my bank if I am not satisfied and writing the BBB. I screenshot all the chats too. Been fighting this all day!

I bought a ticket with the option "change your plan" and when I want to cancel my trip they only can gave me a credit. I was already frustrated.
After that I realise the credit/redemption was valid only with the same airline (duh!) and only for 1 year since the buying date (and not the emission date of the credit (re duh!)

And finally when i managed to want buy a flight (with the same airline and before the expiration date) I have to wait 3 hours on the chat with customer service to book my flight and use the credit. Really? WTF. Why can I use the credit by myself in the application? Why it takes 3h for something it takes 2 minutes to do (buying ticket).

So I'm really frustrated and never use HOPPER ever again.

Where is my Refund

Hopper charged me $448 without my approval and will not refund! The Customer Service is the worst…trained Bots that claim they care but NO details! They will not acknowledge that they took money. I would steer clear of this company that had Zero customer service!

The airline switched my flight to an earlier time that we can't make. I reached out to hopper support and was told my concern would be sent to their best team and I would hear back with a resolution shortly. A day later still no response. I reached out again - I was told I'd hear back within 1-2 days. It has been 3 days - I reached out again. Received apology - I was told I'd hear from someone within 3-5 minutes - 4 hours later - still no response! It has been 5 days since my flight was changed (no reason) and I still cannot get a resolution.

Buyers beware of there shady tactics to scam you out of money. I had used them a number times for flights. Probably the same rates but I liked you could look at the best time to fly. While I booked (like so many other things) they add in extra fees and taxes, well I decided to price out a car rental from them. As I tried it navigate to a final page to show me all the costs with extra taxes I found myself charged for a non-refundable rental. I reached out immediately as I couldn't believe there was NO confirmation prior to booking and since I'd used them they had my credit card stored and charged immediately. Hopper said I'd have to call the vendor. So after canceling it with the vendor, I didnt receive anything from them I reached out to figure out how to go about a refund. After several attempts, explaining the situation they refused. There was NO car rental. But they kept the full amount. The unethical practices here is is crazy! The only suggestion from customer service was to remove my credit card and postpone payment when I used them again (Won't be!). Even their customer service people acknowledge that their shady app will try to trap you and steal pmt with no refundable charges!
Do yourself a favor- go elsewhere and make sure your friends know so they don't get scammed too!

I wanna give negative stars, As my court schedule suddenly changed, I have to cancel the flight, And before they were giving the credits can use in one year. But now they taking all your money, and bu$#*!ting like the airlines charge you $100 change fee, So it is better to buy new ticket. But this is not true, I asked airlines, they said hopper taking all the money, So if you cancel the flight, you will get nothing and they will replace your seat to others, So they will earn DOUBLE THE money. So whoever bought the basic economic seat from them, DO NOT CANCEL EVEN YOU CAN NOT GO, they will suck all your money + Earn from another person. The airlines said if you bought from our website, credit might be given. But in this case, they said need to ask the hopper. They received your money and they should give you the credit, not airlines.
I booked many hotels from booking.com, it is all changed date or refunded even I bought non-refundable rooms, They can assist you to change the date or refund. Compare with hopper, Hopper is garbage company! Go Bankrupt!
People please make one APP to beat this company, This company will go easily!Wosrt company ever! Fooling people, because you think we don't know, Worst service!

Last year booked a flight using Hopper app, but had to cancel due to flu. Flight was with United. I went to rebook the flight and was told by Hopper that the flight had to be complete before the 'booking' date of last year's flight in order to use my $440 credit or I would lose the funds. Fortunately, I had a United confirmation # in addition to the Hopper confirmation #. When I contacted United, they told me my credit was good until the end of this year, which gave me an additional 8 months to use the funds. I booked directly with United with no problem after Hopper told me my funds were no longer usable. For all I know, they would have used the credit or resold it. Regardless, they wouldn't allow me to use the funds that were still usable thru the airline. I would say that this is a good reason to not book thru Hopper.
There app may give some insight into rate trends, but I wouldn't book travel with them.

I purchased this not realizing it's a service fee that is completely non-refundable, even if you cancel your flight within the 24 hour cancellation window.

I bought a flight from Hopper about a month ago and the airline added almost 14 hours of layovers. I reached out to customer service and someone responded within 24 hours to say they found me a great flight option to replace the old flight, all I had to do was respond saying Accept, and they would submit a request to the airline. They also said I should respond right away since seats on the new flight are limited.

Of course I responded right away that I accepted and then I never heard back. Weeks later the flight hadn't been changed, no follow up from customer service. So I made a new request. The agent said the same thing which leads me to believe that the first agent didn't even make the request. Made a third request, no answer. Made a fourth request, got an answer saying they were going to "look into it", never heard anything back. I have made a fifth request and I cannot believe I actually have now been able to get more than one response from each agent. I'm absolutely disgusted with their "customer service" it leaves you feeling so helpless. I imagine the new flight is sold out now. Weeks later. DO NOT USE THIS APP! And Hopper, do not leave some lame automatic response telling me to contact you or read a forum because it is absolutely useless, how about you just DO SOMETHING about it!

They'll steal your money. Booked a flight and canceled within enough advance, then booked a hotel and they used everything for a room that costed 130 for 2 nights when I had a balance of 540. This isn't something they notify you about and is theft by deception, also any American should be forwarned that they are a Canadian based company so pressing charges can get tricky. Be warned and stay away from this company!

This was a disaster! They charge for all types of services! They send your flights through Silver Airways, who's not even at the airport when you arrive. You can't talk to customer service, you have to chat with them. On top of that you have to pay $33 for VIP customer service, so that they can respond quickly. Other than that, ya flight is canceled and you'll have to wait 48 hours for a response! Save yourself the trouble! Don't Book!

Hopper is a rip off! They told me that if I booked with them again I would receive $100 Cashback, I went ahead and booked with them again and I never got it. I emailed them several times, Divine said I would see it in my account on April 26th and it's still not there and hopper doesn't respond to my emails anymore. Don't trust this company!

I have booked a two bedroom apartment for six people with Hopper. The reservation came back for a king room so then I rang them and spoke to them. In regards to we will not fit six people in a room. They will not refund the price freeze even though it was made under the assumption that it was for six people. Save your money and stick to hotels, combined or bookings.com

Do not book with hopper. They charge cancellation fees without your knowledge and the fee is more then the cost of the room.
They also show rooms that you believe you are booking to find out that the hotel doesn't have that room. The picture shows the room we booked, but was not available.

What a scam

Hopper will charge you over $1000/night for a hotel room that you have to share with cockroaches. My friend arrived to a room with crumbs, dirty clothes and vermin and because it was booked through Hopper, that is the only place she could go for a refund. Good luck getting in touch with Hopper's customer service department because the only number will hang up on you after telling you to just visit the app, EVERY time. So she did all she could do, dispute the charges (because I'm sorry, but paying $1000/night for a room with a health hazard is a clear as day breach of contract, and she should not be on the hook for that), but Hopper is fighting her every step of the way referring to their cancellation policy. Save yourself the future stress and just book through literally any other third party booking service next time you plan a trip.

Hopper helped me find a cheap hotel. I hadn't showered for 2 weeks due to a living situation and it just so happened to be my birthday that I was setting the motel up for. To shower and sleep in a real bed. All the money I had to my name was 110$. I was stocked. I set it up for the date and hit confirmed. And at my confirmation it said it was reserved for the follow date. When I called to have it collect I was politely told sorry there is nothing they could do it was non refundable and basically I just had to deal with it. So then I paid the VIP membership at the higher price because I did not do it right away. Just to get the same answer of sorry dude you're burnt. Thank you hopper for ruining my birthday this year!

Horrible service

I have never been more dissatisfied with a service program I booked a hotel couldn't check in due to having a pet and wasn't going to have the pet even in the room she was going to stay in my car I didn't even stay at the hotel had to sleep in my car and still got charged for the hotel

Terrible service
April 28, 2023

I have deleted this app and will never use again. I booked the wrong date, realized it and tried to cancel. I ended up booking a second date. They wouldn't cancel, so I'm just out. Ridiculous terms and conditions. Also, you can't talk to anyone. It's all automated, which is very frustrating in a situation like this. They just want your money. They're not really there to help you.
