I am aware that Home Dec was a subsidiary of Home Depot, but now they have merged Home Dec into Home Depot and it is a disaster. You can't find the custom upholstered items along with many other items. You can't view them in 'room' settings and there is no ambiance to looking at decorator items on a 'hardware store' type website. This was a bad idea - I will be forced to shop on Wayfair - really poor decision Home Dec/Home Dep.
I LOVE shopping from homedecorators.com... at least I use to. That was until they merged HomeDepot.com and Homedecorator.com. The site is AWEFUL! I will NOT be buying anything from this new site as it is hard to search, you can't see the description very well and the site is cumbersome. When looking for decorating supplies, I don't want hardware crap included in my search results. I will be shopping from Wayfair.com instead.
Ordered a patio table and chairs from them2 months ago. We were promised delivery within 3 weeks it is now 2 months. Their trucking company scheduled 2 delivery times and didn't make either one, arrived 2.5 hours after second delivery time to not have every box. They couldn't even tell us the box missing and said it had all been in the warehouse for 3 weeks at least. We refused items and are canceling it all. Husband took off a day from work to be stood up. Ridiculous and never shopping with them again.
If you find something from their site on a different site for a lower price they will refund you 2x the difference. They have to research it and it does take about a month to get the refund but they actually do it! I found a breakfast table set on homedecorators.com for $1500. I saw it on a different site for $1100. I ordered it from homedecorators.com and they refunded $800 to me a month later. Love them!
Do not purchase from Home Decorators Collection! They do not make anything they sell; they act as the middle man between the vendor and customer. They offer no information on tracking your package. I have placed two orders with HDC and had to call multiple times to find out about my items. Their customer service is despicable. They provide you with false information and do not follow through. In my last call to them I asked to speak with a supervisor and she was the rudest person I have ever dealt with. 9 times out of 10 you can find the vendor on your own by Googling the product name. Deal directly with the vendor, it will save you several phone calls and headaches.
I recently purchased a 16-piece dinnerware set from Home Decorators Collection, and I am quite pleased with my purchase. The set came well-packed with no breakage and was delivered in a timely manner. The colors and the patterns were exactly what was pictured on-line. The cups were just the right size and feel good in my hand. Everything was just what I wanted!
If I could give no stars, I would. In February, I placed an order totaling $1900 for an office center that consisted of 5 pieces. Two of the five pieces were damaged because they used an obscure, no name delivery man (not company) to deliver the items. I placed the order for 2 replacement pieces at the end of February. It is now almost June and I am still waiting on the last piece. Their email response to inquires contain boilerplate information that has proven to be wrong on more than one occasion. They do not provide shipping tracking numbers unless pushed to ship via UPS. They have no explanation for why it has taken this long to get my furniture. For all of this, I have been given $89- not even enough to cover the tax on my order. They are a NIGHTMARE. I filed a complaint with the BBB. Do not order from here if you actually want to see your furniture. My next step is to have American Express refund my money for the outstanding piece and fight it out with Home Decorators.
No, it's not that I don't like change, it's just that nothing is the same as the former Home Decorators e-business. If I want Home Depot, I'll go there. I want to browse the Home Decorators catalog like I used to. Bad move.
I ordered chairs in November, they were shipped to Cagney on January 19th and I keep getting the runaround on when I will hear from the shipper. I have put in calls weekly and every week they come up with a new excuse!
I miss the old home decorators website! It was fast and user friendly and had all of the information for each item clearly visible AND you could PIN your selections to Pinterest. Home Depot, I love you guys, but WHY did you have to mess up a good thing? Your website is so slow and terrible, I can't find anything and I can no longer pin things. I am building a house and I had a nice Pinterest board going of items that I planned to purchase, but you better believe I am NOT using any of the Home Decorators stuff because I your website is too difficult and slow to operate. You have lost a valued Home Decorators customer due to this website change. I am very disappointed.
If I could give it a zero, I would!
HORRIBLE- not one thing I ordered came in a condition that I could keep it. Broken mirrors, broken glass and even broken wood. And now I have to fight for my money back.
What a nightmare; orders from Home Decorators can no longer be accessed and Home Depot won't honor the warranties, even though Home Depot owned them. This was a merger, not an acquisition but they act clueless when it comes to honoring Home Decorators warranties.
I just discovered, like scores of others, that HomeDecorators.com is GONE! I purchased for my interior design clients from them and HD is not the same. SAD!
I have many rugs in the past from Home Decorators catalog and on line. I will not use the Home Depot site again, it is impossible to find what I want. Very bad decision to make these changes.
We ordered a run in March with a 2-week delivery. Never received an update and my wife finally called in May and they told us it was delayed and wouldn't ship until June. Wife called in June, again no contact from them, and we were told it wouldn't ship until August! We wanted this for the summer! My wife told them she wanted a refund and to cancel the order (because they charged the card back in March) and they said that it's not likely the order can be cancelled! This company is basically a scam! DO NOT PURCHASE. PROTECT YOURSELF!
My wife ordered three Carrington rugs from Home Decorators the first two were a 2'x6' and a 9'x5' which were delayed because they were not in stock, after several phone calls we were told they would ship from the manufacturer. When they finally arrived they looked fantastic so we decided to a 9'x12' this rug was delivered in a reasonable time with a free pad "WOW". Now here it is two months later and the carpet pile is pulling away (nap), called customer service and after 20 minutes of making them aware of this problem they said they could give us a $17.50 credit for each rug or $25.00 off our next purchase If they consider this customer service they're in the wrong business. Would these people really think I would purchase something from them again. If you're looking to purchase rugs from them go somewhere reputable and buy QUALITY RUGS instead of QUANTITY no wonder they were on sale look beautiful when first went down now look like "S--T"
I just installed a set of Home Decorator cabinets in a flip and they are arguably the WORST cabinets I have ever seen. They were a nightmare to assemble AND the boxes are birch plywood... not bad... except they are not stained or painted to match the doors selected. So, I have white foil wrapped doors and BROWN cabinet exteriors. I had to buy multiple end panels at Home Depot to cover all the exposed pieces and then recalculate all my measurements to add in the end panels. DISGRACEFUL. Home Depot should DUMP this supplier!
I've been trying to access their website for awhile today and can't. I get directed to Home Depot every time I type in the Home Decorators URL into the browser. Where did it go? Anyone know?
Ordered $1000+ vanity 10/3. Paid $300+ delivery and shipping. It's 12/17 and still no vanity. This has screwed up a bathroom remodel and held up the project making the bathroom unusable. Home Decorators Collection and their delivery service have been no help stating it was shipped and should be "somewhere in a warehouse... possibly Home Depot". This is crazy insane. Don't put yourself in this situation unless you have no timeline in mind for receiving the item you purchase. I've purchased other items like rugs from these guys without issue.
However, I WOULD STRONGLY RECOMEND YOU DO NOT PURCHASE ITEMS YOU ACTUALLY NEED FOR A TIME SENSITIVE PROJECT FROM HOME DECORATORS. COM.
All I want for Christmas is my bathroom remodel complete.
Bad experience is an understatement.
Be aware this could happen to you!
Wow, just so disappointed with HD getting rid of home decorators collection. WHAT a MAJOR disappointment. If I wanted to shop at HD I would go to HD which BTW I wont!
I prefer to shop the online site or catalog which offered so much more
Answer: There are other people who ordered cabinets from Home Decorators that wrote reviews and many of them were not pleased and their customer service sucks I do believe if you have a problem you must pay return postage and they'll ask you for pictures first
Answer: No, unfortunately. Home Depot bought the company... then destroyed it.
