Tried to purchase an area rug to match ones I already have but site has very little inventory to offer. Bring back Home Decorators! They always had interesting pieces at reasonable prices and great inventory to browse.
I usually do not leave negative reviews, but I'm absolutely sick over the Home Decorators Collection. I spent thousands of dollars on new vinyl plank flooring from Home Depot not to mention labor for the install. The flooring arrived and 20% of it was defective and could not be used. The top color part was flaking off on the edges and/ or the click locks were folded in and wouldn't secure together. Due to the difficulties I had trying to find flooring that looked good in a 1980's log cabin and Home Depot's over estimation on materials I had enough to install anyway. HUGE mistake! Three months after install the edges of the planks where flaking up and chipping. The planks were pulling apart and the clear coat was coming off. Home Depot said I had to contact Home Decorators Collection for the warranty claim. I filed a claim and they sent out one of their flooring inspectors who didn't even address the defective planks in his report. They claimed it was an install problem and would not cover any of the flooring. They didn't even mention the defective planks that were never installed. Long story short they informed me the product I purchased was discontinued (surprise surprise) and refused to cover any of it. They costed me thousands. Now I have to redo the whole house in a new product all over again. Home Decorators customer service was terrible their inspector was awful, and I got completely screwed. DO NOT RECOMMEND.

I ordered a book case and matching cabinet. One item came and the other one said it was scheduled to be shipped 3 months later. My living room has been waiting with a big blank spot on the other side of my fireplace all this time only to find out months later that the other cabinet was cancelled! I'm furious! I got stuck paying for a bookcase that doesn't work without the matching one on the other side! Martha Stewart sucks too because she sells her stuff through this rotten company!
A large selection of items you can't find at popular retailers. I found a few pieces on homedecorators.com that I had not been able to find anywhere else. They also offer free shipping, which is a huge bonus particularly for larger furniture items. I was pleased with the quality of the items I received and found the website descriptions and pictures to be accurate. The items arrived quickly and in good condition, too.
Ordered 3 rugs August 22 and just received the final rug YESTERDAY after several emails saying the order was delayed. Opened the rug this morning and its the WRONG COLOR. Their excuse was that the rug shipped directly from the manufacturer. My only option is to ship the rug back and reorder. No help, no nothing. Terrible customer service. I'll never reorder from them.
I ordered a hall tree from Home Decorators Collection. One of the pieces was mis-drilled, so I needed to contact customer support to request a replacement. No customer support number was provided with the furniture itself, so I had to go to the website and look up the number. The first time I called (the number on Home Depot's web site for HDC), I was directed to an answering machine that said they would call back within 2 hours. When I wasn't called back the next day, I called the same number back, and it had been disconnected. I still haven't ever gotten a call back from that original call. So I had to go back and search the internet for a different customer support number. When I called this number, I finally got an answer after about an hour wait from a call center in India who did not speak English well. I gave them the model number off of the box, and they were unable to find the piece in their catalog.
Finally, after about 1/2 hour and giving them every number on the box, they were able to find the order and ordered the part that I needed replaced. They said that the part should arrive by the end of the week. Friday rolls around, and no part arrives, but we get a phone call saying that it is actually 4-6 weeks for the part to arrive, and asking if we still wanted the part. Again, no number was left to call back and confirm, or any way to avoid another 30 minutes on hold trying to talk to someone, and the phone message said that they had also sent an email that we could respond to, but that never arrived (unsurprisingly, they wrote is down incorrectly).
Still haven't received the replacement piece yet.
The furniture looks nice, but the quality and customer support from the company is awful. I would not recommend purchasing ANYTHING from this company.
I bought 4 custom chairs from home decorators and now I need two more of the same. I can no longer get them with this horrible merger. If your going to merge do it right. I agree with the post, I do not want tools etc when I'm searching for custom furniture
Went to home depot and looked at this gorgeous christmas tree. Got home and ordered one to be delivered. It was my FIRST XMAS TREE EVER. After 2 weeks of it being lit parts of the tree went out. I've emailed and called immediately and they offered to send another one.
Well as you guessed it it went out again. I called so much that i think i needed to be a representative.
I was told that since i used it for two weeks that they'll give me less than what i paid for it.
I've been sending photos of what the tree looks like on both occasions, calling, waiting for call backs that never happen - customer service only repeats what they've been told.
This is going to be my third year without my own christmas tree. So sad.
They don't care about the spirit and joy of christmas - it's only money theyre after and poor quality products!
Now they want to give me a gift card to only spend at home depot when I've only been to home depot once in 10 years to get a tree.
I don't trust their word, their service and integrity.
But I do know that it's only so long you can treat your customers this way.
They can quickly take your money but slow to give it back and you may not get the amount you paid for from the beginning.
I'm also a disabled military veteran who had to pay someone to bring the tree in and out both times. I'm out of money and this credit is a wash.
So disappointed. Do better!
Half my order was damaged right after being made or while being packaged and had to be reordered setting my project behind schedule. Was a poor decision going with this brand
I am an interior designer and ordered a shelf for a client. The box contained two left brackets making it impossible to assemble. When I called customer service they told me it was 72 hours to" process" the parts return and 7-10 days to receive a new one. I had to pay a carpenter to come out ( $65) to see that the part was wrong. The customer service had me on hold for a long time and their solution is not at all acceptable.
Extremely disappointed and sad to say that I would always shop at home decorators. I loved the website super easy to navigate. I don't have time to be looking through small pictures trying, on a home improvement store website! I even feel embarrassed that I've recently recommended the Home Decorators website to my friends who have asked where have I gotten those beautiful rugs from, only to find out that it no longer exists!
Claims they ship within 7-10 days so you buy from them. Then on your delivery date, they send an email saying the cant ship for 25 more days... Crap company.
I am still waiting for my bedroom set that I ordered and it was shipped with Cagney... My product has been sitting in CA for 12 days... and every time that I can and check the status... I am being told that they lost the delivery carrier but they just found a new one... This has happened 3 times now. And I am still waiting for my furniture.
I will never buy any from them until they find a more reliable carrier.
I used to love Home Decorators. I bought a summer home in 2015 and furnished much of it with many, many items from Home Decorator. I shopped on line easily and was very satisfied with 99% of my purchases. I have a few credits which I have been trying to use. Sadly the online site is awful, pictures don't load, search is useless and it is just a complete waste of time. What happened?
I ordered a heavy mirror, and the pieces fell apart when we tried to hang it. It was put together with corrugated paper and thin, brittle plastic. In March, I began asking for a refund. It takes 2-3 week to get a response to an email or hours on hold on the phone. They must have two people in their nationwide call center. In May, they sent me a HDC gift card, but the numbers on it did not work. They said they cancelled that card and would send another. I never received another. After numerous inquiries, they finally told me on July 11 that they had refunded my credit card on June 22. I bought many things from HDC over the years, but service and quality have disappeared. I will never buy anything there again.
I would give ZERO stars! Ordered a bedroom set May 5. Charged for everything and still missing 3 items. Still havent received the footboard storage part of our bed, the chest or the mirror. Was told everytime we called that "the mirror will ship friday" its not even in STOCK! The bed is in stock but they wont send us the missing part bec "they need to do their investigation!"!?!? Claim to have resolved the issue with the chest. Took it off my visa but resent it and proceeded to charge my card $36.48!? Chest supposed to arrive July 9, Not holding my breah. After almost 2 months of my husband and I talking to the shipping company and the company nothing is resolved. I could write a book about all this! We are sleeping with our mattress on the floor! DISGUSTING! Not to mention $500 shipping charge!
I placed 3 large orders and am pleasantly surprised with the quick delivery, high product quality, and wonderful customer service. After placing the orders for the first time I went online to read reviews because the prices were too good to be true. After receiving the great products, I am here to defend Home Decorators from the negative posts. I am very happy with the merchandise and saved so much $$$:-)
Do not order anything from this company. I ordered $5000 in kitchen cabinets in May and still do not have them all. Half did not arrive or came damaged. They lie and say they are shipping replacements but their carrier, supposedly UPS refuses to deliver them. Each week a new excuse. No answers as to where the stuff is, but they pretend it is our fault. Finally had them ship to Home Depot directly and they still have not delivered everything. Driver didn't feel like it, Home Decorators refuse to hellp. STAY AWAY!

Answer: There are other people who ordered cabinets from Home Decorators that wrote reviews and many of them were not pleased and their customer service sucks I do believe if you have a problem you must pay return postage and they'll ask you for pictures first
