The company exhibits a mixed reputation, with notable strengths in customer satisfaction when it comes to specific contractors and service providers, who are often praised for professionalism and quality work. However, significant concerns arise regarding the lead generation service, with numerous customers expressing frustration over poor-quality leads, lack of refunds for invalid contacts, and overwhelming solicitations. Many reviews indicate a decline in service quality following the merger with Angie's List, leading to a perception of the company as unreliable. Overall, while individual service experiences can be positive, systemic issues with lead handling and customer support remain prevalent.

I hired Art-Is-Tree to remove three huge trees, their stumps and roots from my front yard. The crew did a fabulous job! Bravo! The work team is made up of professional, ethical, hard working young men who understand the dance of team work. They worked very hard in extremely hot weather, were polite and communicative. Also, they were orderly, neat and cleaned up before leaving. I highly recommend Art-Is-Tree for your tree removal project!
Great experience. Great person who did my floors. Highly recommend American Hardwood Flooring.
Got a call back from repair guy within minutes and arrived at our house in less than an hour
After trying for several months trying to hire someone to clean weeds from my landscaping and spread mulch I called Angi's.
I found Larry's Landscape and Mowing. He had all good reviews and was certified by Angi's. I am 81 years old and have not been in this area long and I had no idea what landscapers charge. He looked over what I wanted and quoted a price of $6000 labor and material which was &1500 dollars would be supplied by me. Not knowing what other people charge I agreed. I thought this was very expensive and told him so. The work was very bad and not completed. He was to come back but has not.
I called another landscaping company and told him to give me an estimate if he were doing the work and he quoted $1000 to $1200. He said that I had been robbed
The scope of the work Gus is doing is far more then just painting cabinets. He is repairing damage and completing the work in a bath room as well as the kitchen (which a previous contractor made and then walked away from). In addition he built a new cabinet strong enough to hold a granite bar top. He is estimating he will be through in less then 3 weeks and at the speed he is working, I have every reason to believe him.
He is prompt, neat and remains in contact daily. I just wish I had hired him first.
The company sent someone to my home to measure the job. She gave me an estimate based on the product I chose, the template was created and a week later I had a new countertop.
John Driscoll is extremely professional. He always let me know exactly when he would come. He finished replacing the glass on my window within the same day as he promised and even showed me some extra tips to keep the window functioning better. John is nice, kind and friendly. He is certainly trustworthy and I will definitely hire him again if I have another window related issue in the future. I highly recommend Window MD for the professionalism, quality of work and the good price.
I received a call within an hour. Of. Setting up my project. Gentlemen came that day and completed.the work before the day was out
This was the first time I used Home Advisor.
It was very difficult to use the website. Getting someone on the phone took far too long.
The work was done professionally and timely. I have no complaints about the quality of the work and the gentleman who did the work.
It's the website and phone support that I had problems with.
Home advisor is great when the contractors calls and comes out and gives estimate.
Dealing with Angi customer service is a waste of time.
I requested a basement organizer and that is exactly what I got! She was on time, professional, and a hard worker.
Everything today is about reviews. The businesses that list with HomeAdvisor want to keep getting more jobs. If they mess up, they know it will result in a bad review and they will not get new business. Its that simple. So, i always tell everyone, using HomeAdvisor / Angi is the best way to insure they will not get ripped off.
Needed help with plumbing and couldn't find a local company that would either return the call or had someone that could come out quickly to help. Tried HomeAdvisor and received a recommendation, made contact with a company and had an appointment scheduled within an hour!
Great experience searched for what I needed and filled out few questions and instantly had several communications from contractors and had my job done the next day.
We were looking for a good dumpster service in our area, and found E & J via home advisor. We had a great experience with E & J services. We were needing a dumpster on short notice and E & J came through for us. Very friendly, professional and easy to work with. We will use their services again.
HomeAdvisor website is difficult to use & prejudice. I'll likely not use Angi again, based on my experience. The vendor you support, Dias Welding, should be rewarded for excellent service, however, I don't believe you will.
I Contacted 3 of the recommended painters. One had appropriate insurance & great reviews but business was in a noncompliance status. I felt paying $14,000 to a noncomplianr company too much. The second company gave a quote but didn't have insurance. $11,000 for no insurance is interesting. The third company priced itself so low that it was ridiculous. I took the third one to support a female minority business while thinking I would pay the same as the second company. Well, the service was horrid & I ended up calling the police to get the woman off my property. The owner stayed in front of my yard for 3 hours waiting on her painters to arrive to get the items I kindly put outside the home. Yes the job had issues related to the management of the workers and job. I would have still continued with the job if the owner would have talked TO me instead of AT me inside my home. So … I guess if I would had paid $14,000 and squeezed my cheeks to hope nothing happened that I would be a happy camper. Unfortunately… homeowners insurance would not be on my side for hiring a company that lacked cleared credentials. Moral of the story…. Don't patronize anyone because Of sex or ethnicity. Go solely by their verifiable credentials and reviews. In this case … I struck out 3 times!
Answer: We had a similar experience when first trying Home advisor out. They kept taking money out of our account arbitrarily. I finally had to file stop payment forms at my bank. Then they threatened us with extra fees unless we "settled" our account. We have strict DTPA laws (deceptive trade practice act) in our state. I advised we complain to our Attorney General about this. I think home advisor should be banned in our state because of this fraud.
Answer: I didn't, they have been blowing my phone up for 6 month's now and now they act like thier desperate for me to sign with them. I have absolutely no want or will i ever sign with them after i have heard what thier doing to contractors who have a contract with them. I just signed with a family owned reality company and even they told me not to sign and even when i tell home advisor i don't want thier business they ignore my request and still call and now they act like thier a home owner requesting painting but once i get to asking where they live or information all of a sudden I'm being told to do a background check and i sign up for free! But i have to pay a percentage of my leads or size of job something of that nature where i pay them for a no guarantee of work as i see it. I can't trust handing money to a company that's being deceitful in a phone call off the rip! Just be careful i don't hear good thing's about them all over now.
Answer: Fake leads, sends email, text & calls between 20-30/day and charges for each. Even if Contractor doesn't open Or answer any calls! Will rip off contractors about $800/day until they catch it and no refunds! Do Not Use HomeAdvisor!
Answer: I don't know about the house cleaners but, I do not trust the company based on my own recent experience.
Answer: You don't know you have to call home advisor and wait on the phone for an hr until they pick up
