The "pro" they sent cost us a new dryer! It should've been a simple part replacement and turned out he really didn't know what he was doing.
It took two weeks to "fix" the problem (see picture) then the first time I went to use it and boom nothing happened. So I wound up contacting another local company for help. Not only was I extremely overcharged by homeadvisor for the "fix" but it cost us double due to the dryer being broken in the process of him fixing it.

I had to borrow the $6,000 and am paying it back at $271.00 a month.

The problem? I did NOT write the review. Five stars for a professional' whose idea of unloading sheeting is to raise the front of the trailer and slamming dozens of 4 x 8 boards into our garage door?

J&y contractors did a awful job on my door was asked to rehang door all he did was put some weather stripping on that coming off charged me &150! Gave me back $75 and this is what I'm left with door won't even close completely
I live in a small town 50 minutes out of San Antonio, TX. It often hard to find people willing to come out here even for work. I was provided with enough options for my project to pick who I wanted to use and get the job done.
Scheduled move out cleaning 3 weeks prior to move out date. Home advisor called and cancelled appointment an hour prior to arrival. Wanted to reschedule it for the day after I moved out. Find a local person to do whatever job you need done and do not use this middle man who will not guarantee anything.
They will debit your card without your approval pretty much and any money you have in your account, they won't play fair, they do not care if you get a good lead or even if you one day will get some job, their job is to bill you. I was a pro member for a month or so before I could realize that. Now and on they call me trying to make me sign up again.
I was with them as a pro contractor for 5 + years, trying to work with them as I had seen glimpses of the system working, and this service exists as a way to milk money from contractors and take advantage of them using unauthorized bank charges without permission. I would not recommend joining. Their customer services lies to me repeatedly and will do anything to keep from losing a customer so I had to leave finally.
They charge my card with no service in they tell you soon have that first call that we won't charge your cord until job is done that was a lie a talk to a lady name Laura in she charged my card without no service she's apart of the scam avoid these people do not give them your card number or information
My experience with A-1 Quality Construction was good. The company had a incredible response time to complete work. They were professional and proficient. For future needs I will be contacting this company.
We were prepared to move forward with a contractor, but then got a note about another company. Did not realize that they would be in our price point, and ended up using the recommended company... thank you!
Very pleased with HomeAdvisor's communication and follow up. They checked in to make sure all companies had made contact and offered more names as needed immediately. I had secured an offer within 2 days from multiple quotes.
Dead palm tree was removed by skilled professionals. Work was done fast as they had all the machinery.
We are very pleased with their service and will call them again on any future tree project needs.

This is the worst service to use for starting a new business. They take more money then you can actually benefit from. When calling to ask about my statements, I had two reps hang up on me. Not satisfied
Reliable references. Estimate time varies. You can tell which companies plan accordingly to secure jobs a. S.a. P. I recently hired a plumbing company because my main drain backed up into the basement. One company customer service employee told me they could arrive for an estimate in 10 days. Obvious lack of knowledge.
I am an electrical professional... Chris Taylor told me they are waiving the $300 yearly fee... lol... good thing my card declined, because he went straight for the 300 dollars... I mean straight up Lied... Do not even talk on the phone with this group of fake, scammers...
We were a few days late giving them our updated insurance requirements even though we had proof it never lapsed they forced us to fork over hundreds of dollars before removing the hold on our account.

Answer: We had a similar experience when first trying Home advisor out. They kept taking money out of our account arbitrarily. I finally had to file stop payment forms at my bank. Then they threatened us with extra fees unless we "settled" our account. We have strict DTPA laws (deceptive trade practice act) in our state. I advised we complain to our Attorney General about this. I think home advisor should be banned in our state because of this fraud.
Answer: I didn't, they have been blowing my phone up for 6 month's now and now they act like thier desperate for me to sign with them. I have absolutely no want or will i ever sign with them after i have heard what thier doing to contractors who have a contract with them. I just signed with a family owned reality company and even they told me not to sign and even when i tell home advisor i don't want thier business they ignore my request and still call and now they act like thier a home owner requesting painting but once i get to asking where they live or information all of a sudden I'm being told to do a background check and i sign up for free! But i have to pay a percentage of my leads or size of job something of that nature where i pay them for a no guarantee of work as i see it. I can't trust handing money to a company that's being deceitful in a phone call off the rip! Just be careful i don't hear good thing's about them all over now.
Answer: Fake leads, sends email, text & calls between 20-30/day and charges for each. Even if Contractor doesn't open Or answer any calls! Will rip off contractors about $800/day until they catch it and no refunds! Do Not Use HomeAdvisor!
