The company exhibits a mixed reputation, with notable strengths in customer satisfaction when it comes to specific contractors and service providers, who are often praised for professionalism and quality work. However, significant concerns arise regarding the lead generation service, with numerous customers expressing frustration over poor-quality leads, lack of refunds for invalid contacts, and overwhelming solicitations. Many reviews indicate a decline in service quality following the merger with Angie's List, leading to a perception of the company as unreliable. Overall, while individual service experiences can be positive, systemic issues with lead handling and customer support remain prevalent.

As a contractor, we gave them a try but got only horrible leads. Not worth the money for us. When we canceled the first time by phone, they "had no record of it" and kept charging us. They finally canceled it months later when we kept calling. No refunds. It's been a year later, I see they charged us a membership fee again. Called to confirm our membership has been canceled and they can't tell me why we got charged again. Frauds.
These gentlemen were prompt courteous and worked in perfect synchronicity with each other. They were very reasonably priced and did beautiful work. I would recommend them.
I had a hard time searching for someone to pour a concrete patio this late in the season, but Home Advisor found someone in less that an hour.
On time. Came when he said he would be here. Good job.
The company that responded was wonderful. The HomeAdvisor sent too many texts about confirming and reminding me about the appointment!
Excellent job, professional in execution, prompt, friendly and thorough
This service is not worth paying for. HomeAdvisor will do the same thing directly for free, Angi required a monthly subscription payment. When Angi's List restructured into Angi (aka HomeAdvisor) the value of the List vanished. It's very confusing to get calls and messages from HomeAdvisor when you signed up for Angi, nowhere does it explain this crossover. I couldn't use most of the services, and vendors offer the same or better discounts if you contract directly. The "20% off" appears to be either grossly misleading or an outright lie. The quote the "have Angi do it!" gave me was off by almost 7000$ - I'm SO GLAD I didn't sign up for that option! Steer clear, save your money.
My gutter fell off after being pulled down by a vine. Called and he came the next day!
Needed roof repairs, Angi provided 3 companies. Acquired quotes, hired a roofer, worked out great. Thanks Angi for leading me to king roofing.
Those is a conflict of interest for Angie homeadvisor to promote contractors that do not perform. I learned this the hard way for a contractor that Angie gave 5 stars who was one of the worst contractors I dealt with "Top Pools" in Katy Texas. Its been over a month and still they haven't showed up. We purchased the pool pump and they have it but have not made am appointment that they did not cancel with excuses.
Excuse #1 rain forecast
Excuse # 2 forgot some tools
Evxcikuse # 3 office forgot to schedule
I wouldn't trust Angie homeadvisor ratings for top pool services
Research and use other ratings like sitejabber.com that are more authentic and fair unbiased and look out for the consumer
Needed to replace my mailbox and needed a handyman.
Gave me a several contractors to choose from and was completely satisfied, even followed up with calls to see that everything was OK and if I needed something else!
The project is still incomplete and the job was started back some time in August 2022. Very disappointed with this service. A Matthew Fagant from Prestige unlimited contracting, llc. Mathew took this project and to date Nov. 5 2022 is incomplete.
No words they are just different than most contractors…
Logged into Angi's to find a plumber to repair broken/missing bolts at base of toilet. Was given the name of Mr. Rooter Plumbing. The price quoted was approx. $198 by Angi. I was told they would call me between 9-11 AM the next Thursday. Angi's phoned me at least twice to verify that an appointment had been made and to make sure I'd be available Thursday morning. Around 1 PM that Thursday I called Mr. Rooter Plumbing and they told me they had nothing from Angi about a repair job for me. They said they could send a plumber out the next day anyway so I agreed to that. Friday morning they called and said due to an emergency they couldn't keep the appointment and rescheduled for the next Monday. That Monday Mr. Rooter showed up on time. The quote, however, $286 dollars, not the $198 quoted by Angi. At this point I agreed to their quote and they finished the job quickly. While I was happy to have the repair done in a timely fashion, I was left with the impression that Angi's really didn't figure into the project much at all and their price quote was basically worthless since Mr. Rooter claims to have not even been contacted by Angi's in the first place. They did at least give me a name of a local plumber which did get the job done, just not at Angi's quoted price. So I'm not all that sure that even the mere $9.95/year for Angi's is really even worth it.
They were on time, efficient, and callled back to make sure I was happy with the work they did. 100% would recommend.
Answer: We had a similar experience when first trying Home advisor out. They kept taking money out of our account arbitrarily. I finally had to file stop payment forms at my bank. Then they threatened us with extra fees unless we "settled" our account. We have strict DTPA laws (deceptive trade practice act) in our state. I advised we complain to our Attorney General about this. I think home advisor should be banned in our state because of this fraud.
Answer: I didn't, they have been blowing my phone up for 6 month's now and now they act like thier desperate for me to sign with them. I have absolutely no want or will i ever sign with them after i have heard what thier doing to contractors who have a contract with them. I just signed with a family owned reality company and even they told me not to sign and even when i tell home advisor i don't want thier business they ignore my request and still call and now they act like thier a home owner requesting painting but once i get to asking where they live or information all of a sudden I'm being told to do a background check and i sign up for free! But i have to pay a percentage of my leads or size of job something of that nature where i pay them for a no guarantee of work as i see it. I can't trust handing money to a company that's being deceitful in a phone call off the rip! Just be careful i don't hear good thing's about them all over now.
Answer: Fake leads, sends email, text & calls between 20-30/day and charges for each. Even if Contractor doesn't open Or answer any calls! Will rip off contractors about $800/day until they catch it and no refunds! Do Not Use HomeAdvisor!
Answer: I don't know about the house cleaners but, I do not trust the company based on my own recent experience.
Answer: You don't know you have to call home advisor and wait on the phone for an hr until they pick up
