The company has established a reputation for providing a user-friendly online auction platform, with many customers appreciating the ease of bidding and tracking items. Positive feedback highlights the quality of products and efficient transaction processes. However, significant concerns arise regarding website performance, excessive shipping charges, and insufficient customer support, particularly in resolving issues related to missing items and unclear invoicing. Overall, while the platform is favored for its convenience and product variety, improvements in customer service responsiveness and transparency in seller charges are necessary to enhance the overall customer experience.

Do not bid if the company does not give detail information about an item. I.e. Stone size, carat weight. Especially if you're a novice and you don't know grams. Items can look bigger in pictures. Send auctioneer questions.
This was my first experience with an online auction and from beginning to the end was absolutely hassle free.
Bidding on items seemed to be going well right to the end thinking I had won the items. After the invoice came back, I found I did not win, due to not getting to the minimum price, but there was no indication of it being a minimum.
Constant problems, could not log on to auction. Called office got voicemail!
Got kicked off several times.

Seller charging me $58.50 as a "cancellation fee" on my very first "winning" and auction. I thought it was the amount I bid for all, but it was the about I bid times 50, which came to $325, which would have been my entire paycheck. I asked if anything could be done as I'm a single mother, and they did not answer, but they did charge my account $58.50 without my authorization. I will dispute the charge.
We understand how frustrating this situation is, and we want to emphasize the importance of reading the auction and item details, including any fees, before bidding to avoid unexpected charges. We recommend reaching out directly to the seller for clarification regarding the cancellation fee. If you're unable to resolve the issue with them, please don't hesitate to contact our support team at 844-775-4774, and we'll assist you in addressing the matter. Thank you for your feedback, and we hope this issue is resolved quickly.
Easy to use. Great pictures. Will use again. Bidding system easy
The time per lot is off relative to the website and you miss out on sales.
There isn't an easy way to search for auctions or lots. It doesn't save your place in your scrolling through lots well. The App could warn you about being outbid. You NEED a watch list before the sale comes close to an end. It's too hard to navigate otherwise
Thanks for the feedback, Evan. HiBid does have a watchlist feature. You can add items to your watchlist, which makes it easier to track them as the auction gets closer to ending. If you're experiencing any difficulty with the app or website, we recommend using the mobile web browser version of HiBid for a smoother experience. If you need assistance with navigating the site or using the watchlist, feel free to contact our support team at 844-775-4774. Thank you for your feedback, and we hope your future experiences are smoother!
I understand not drilling down to specific topics/genres in the search but some more flexibility, like clicking several items or searching within an auction. Navigation on the site is a little wonky Im never quite sure if I am in the right place. Education on how this all works should be offered as well not that I looked for it, it might be there, I just didnt overtly see it.
Thank you for your feedback, James! We appreciate your suggestions for improving search flexibility and navigation. We understand how it can be challenging to find exactly what you're looking for, and we’re always working to enhance the user experience. We also agree that educational resources can be very helpful, and we will consider making them more visible for future users. If you ever need help navigating the site or have any questions, feel free to reach out to our support team at 844-775-4774. Thank you for sharing your thoughts, and we hope to improve your future experiences!
My experience with River City Auction was horrible.
Realized after getting home they didn't give an item that I bid on.
One of the items was missing almost all the parts.
The refrigerator with a "small dent" was completely gashed in on a corner.
While trying to find one of my items. They said it was "sold out" and offered to let me use my 7 dollar bid to pay for something 7 dollars retail from the warehouse. That's ridiculous. The item I bid on, had a much higher MSRP.
Many of the items were junk bulk items that they made seem like individual products.
We apologize for the delayed response, John, and we are truly sorry to hear about your negative experience with River City Auction. It’s unacceptable for auction items to be missing parts or misrepresented, and we understand how frustrating this must be. Auctioneers are responsible for providing accurate descriptions of their items, and we recommend reaching out to them directly to address your concerns. If you continue to have trouble resolving the issue, please feel free to contact our support team at 844-775-4774, and we can assist you further. Thank you for sharing your feedback, and we hope this situation is resolved to your satisfaction.
I usually love Hibid. However my most recent transaction has left me weary. I was never notified if I had won or not. It said you may have won. And pick up was the day after the auction. I reached out after not hearing from anyone then only had 2 hrs to pick up my item and by that time we were literally in the middle of a tornado.
We apologize for the delayed response, Stacy, and understand how frustrating this experience must have been. The "You may have won" message typically means that the auction results are still being finalized. Notifications should be sent once the auctioneer finalizes the results and sends out invoices. We also understand the difficulty of having limited time for pickup, especially under such challenging conditions. We recommend reaching out directly to the auctioneer to discuss any flexibility with the pickup schedule. If you need further assistance, please contact our support team at 844-775-4774, and we will help facilitate communication. Thank you for your feedback, and we hope your future experiences are much smoother.
I was the winning bidder on a utility trailer in Mattoon, IL yesterday. The bidding process is very straight forward, no issues at all. Although, making the decision if this was the trailer I wanted was difficult. I would like to see a better description of the item for sale. I would also appreciate more pictures from all sides of, for instance, this trailer I purchased. There were only 3 pictures of this trailer. Two of the front and one on the right side. Nothing on the left side or rear. I guess I'm spoiled, other auction services give me pictures from all sides, including tires.
I enjoyed the experience of bidding but found several of my items broken when I got home yesterday with my items. Broken as in no good to me or anyone and will be trashed. Doesn't seem fair to not show photos of things like this and/or put in the description. The auctioneer was Bigfoot in Marion, NC. This will most likely be my last online auction.
We apologize for the delayed response, Jennifer, and are truly sorry to hear about the broken items you received. Auctioneers are responsible for accurately describing their items, and it’s disappointing that the condition of the items was not clearly communicated. We recommend reaching out to the auctioneer directly to address the issue and discuss possible resolutions. If you need further assistance or have trouble contacting the auctioneer, please don’t hesitate to reach out to our support team at 844-775-4774, and we can help facilitate communication. Thank you for your feedback, and we hope to improve your future experiences.
I really like the format of the website, you can save items you are watching, email notification settings are customizable. Most auctioneers do a great job of sending you the invoice and notifying you of when your items ship.
The site froze and I missed bidding on a few items I wanted, after I restarted site I was able to
Bid, but missed some articles I was interested in.
Hi Mary, thank you for your feedback, and we're sorry to hear about the trouble you experienced during bidding last July. We understand how frustrating it is to miss out on items due to a site issue.
Since then, we’ve made several updates aimed at improving site performance and stability—especially during high-traffic bidding periods. If you run into any issues in the future, please don’t hesitate to reach out to our support team at 844-775-4774. We’re always here to help.
It was great! It would be nice to maybe have one more pick up day added.
Everything has been great. Nice price range and variety of things. Quick shipments
I put a bid in on a fryer and range, at time sq hotel auction. My hi bid was $80 and the nobody bid against me so the hi bid was a dollar and I won they didn't honor my winning bid or accept my hi bid of $80 after seeing that I won I paid $ 500 for shipping and had to cancel that and lost the $500 for reserving the truck and help
Claude, we understand how disappointing this situation must have been. While we can’t speak for the auction house’s decision, we always encourage bidders to review auction terms carefully, as sellers typically reserve the right to reject bids under certain conditions. We regret that this resulted in unexpected costs for you and appreciate your feedback.
As a repeat customer, I plan on using HiBid again and again. Easy bidding process. I would recommend using a computer over a phone. It's a little easier to navigate. HiBid gives you plenty of notice and time to re-bid on items if outbid.
The HiBid auction site works well and is easy to use but I had a problem paying for the items that I won. I registered for the auction on the HiBid site about a week before the auction and won two items on a local auction. The next morning, I got an email that my credit card had been rejected and I had to make payment within 24 hours. Not and issue for me, but the message did not say how to correct the problem and pay for my items.
I sent an email to the auction company early in the morning asking how to make payment, then called their local number and left a message asking how to pay. Shortly thereafter I got an email stating that the auction company would send me an invoice and I had to pay within 24 hours of the auction. Later in the morning got a call back from a very nice woman and she restated that I would get an invoice. No invoice came by later in the morning, so I went to the HiBid auction site and reentered my credit card information and got charged $1.00 per HiBid site rules. Then got two emails, one saying I had won my bids and the second asking how I wanted the items delivered. Great, that seemed good, but my credit card wasn't charged for the items by late afternoon. So to be sure, I sent another email late in the afternoon asking for an invoice, just in case my credit card would not be charged within the required 24 hours.
The invoice came at 10:38 pm that night...after the 24 hour time limit had expired and after I had gone to bed. I got up this morning and saw the invoice had come in. I paid the invoice just a few minutes ago...at around 6:10 am, so by HiBid rules, I was late paying. Hope that this is good enough and there will be no problem picking up my items.
I put a watch on other items in other auctions but, I can't find them. Trying to narrow down auctions in my area is extremely difficult.
Answer: Licensed auctioneer here- auction law is that if you give notice that you need to retract your bid before the hammer falls (or the auction ends online) that the auctioneer is required to retract the bid. Actual law also dictates that bidding must start over at opening bid, not the next highest bid.
Answer: Very easy. If you dont get someone immediately they do call back. But once again if you have a problem with items contact the auction house not hibid. Hibid doesn't auction they only provide the platform
Answer: Most auctioneer there are scammers, a thrift store would be better option.
Answer: YES! Confirmed by an auctioneer I know. Hibid auctioneers can see your "maximum bid" and in most states it's legal to "shill" an auction or to bid against the public bidders - to "ensure reasonable sale prices" per national auctioneers associations. Also, anyone can set up an identity and bid against you. Although that may get interesting when they have to pay a commission to "buy" their own item!
Answer: "Mechanically challenged" is often a term auctioneers use to indicate that an item might not be functioning properly. It usually means that the piece needs repairs, doesn't operate as intended, or may have some technical issues. It's best to reach out to the seller for a clearer explanation to avoid any surprises. By confirming the exact condition directly with them, you'll have a better understanding of what you're bidding on.
Answer: Yes, if you suspect any fraud, please contact HiBid directly at 844-775-4774. Our team is here to assist you and ensure a safe and secure experience.
Answer: Some auctioneers require credit card verification as part of the bidder registration process. This process involves a temporary authorization charge of $1.00 to ensure the card is valid. In some cases, additional processing fees or taxes might cause the amount to appear slightly higher, such as $1.46. Please rest assured that this is not an actual charge but rather a temporary hold that will be released by your card issuer. Typically, these holds clear within 5-7 business days, depending on your financial institution. If the charge doesn't disappear after this time, we recommend contacting your credit card provider for further assistance.
Answer: Thank you for reaching out regarding your bidder rating and the reasons behind it. Bidder ratings on HiBid are determined by various factors, such as your bidding activity and whether you've been permanently approved or declined by auction companies in the past. Unfortunately, HiBid support and bidders themselves cannot view or access these ratings or the specific reasons behind them, as this information is exclusively available to auctioneers. The best way to gain insight is to contact an auctioneer you have a good relationship with or one whose auctions you'd like to participate in. They may be able to provide some clarity or work with you to address any concerns.
Answer: Thank you for reaching out! We understand how it can be confusing when an item is removed before an auction ends, but please rest assured it's not a scam. Sometimes auctioneers encounter unforeseen issues and may need to cancel or relist items. Keep in mind that auctioneers often work with consignors to ensure items are sold fairly, which can involve reserve prices or other considerations that may or may not be visible on specific listings. We recommend reaching out to the auctioneer directly for more details. If you have any difficulty reaching them, we're here to help facilitate communication.
Answer: Yes, HiBid regularly features a wide selection of motorcycles available for auction.
We apologize for the delayed response, Ernst, and understand your frustration. It sounds like the items you were bidding on had a reserve price, which is set by the seller. If the reserve price isn't met, the item won't be awarded, even if you were the highest bidder. We recommend contacting the auctioneer directly if you're unsure whether there is a reserve price on an item. If you need further assistance or have any questions, feel free to contact our support team at 844-775-4774. Thank you for your feedback, and we hope your future experiences are smoother.
