I had fun biding on different items and I was able to win some of them. After that, I was expecting long delays to have my items mailed to me but I got them less than 2 days after. I will definitely repeat the experience!
While the auction itself went well and I won several items, I was unable to find any way to enter my reseller's permit information which would allow me to not pay the usual sales tax (I have a brick and mortar business).
I was bidding on items to purchase, but I noticed a bidder made a max high bid on all items, and I was outbid because they entered an extremely high bid. I checked on my bids to see the progress of the auction, and for some reason, I won items that I was outbid on because they removed the previous high bids, so I could win on low-value items and used items at a higher price. I feel I have been cheated.
L just love this place! I bid on items that are local (for pickup) and I also bid on items that require shipping. You do have to be a bit careful if you need shipping and watch for "handling fees", especially since postage has skyrocketed. But, if you are watchful of what you bid on you can find some great deals, as well as just have fun!
Good morning, The only thing that would be a low score is the limited pick up times available. I looked as soon as I got my invoice and the times were full. I do understand as it gets really busy and you wouldn't be able to do it any other way.
Thank you,
I have found HiBid online auction service is convenient and easy to use and have used this service multiple times. Reviewing the auction items prior to auction date, items of interest can be added to a "watch list". You can choose to enter a bid at that time or wait until the auction begins. I always take advantage if a onsite preview of the auction items is offered before the sale. This allows you to check condition and/or check for defects of any items that you may be interested in. Once the auction is complete a invoice and pickup schedule is emailed.
Thank you for the fantastic review and for being a repeat bidder with HiBid! We’re glad to hear you find the platform convenient and easy to use. It's great that you're taking full advantage of features like the watch list and onsite previews—that’s a smart way to bid with confidence.
We appreciate your continued support and hope you keep finding great deals in upcoming auctions!
I utilize HiBid on a few different auctions. The platform is mostly user friendly and more reliable then some of the auction holders web sit. For me, one thing I would like to see is to have the ability on the watch list to have it be live instead of every 60 sec. For refresh. When you are watching multiple items that are closing around the same time, keeping track in the live view with everything can be challenging. If the watchlist was live, you would only see your live the items you are watching. Thank you, Mike Schliebe
Hi Mike, thank you for taking the time to share your feedback and for being an active part of the HiBid community across multiple auctions—we really appreciate it! We're glad to hear you find the platform user-friendly and reliable.
Your suggestion about having a live watchlist view is a great one. We can definitely see how that would make tracking multiple closing items smoother, especially when timing is everything. I’ll be sure to pass this along to our development team for future consideration as we continue working to enhance the bidder experience.
Thanks again for your input and for choosing HiBid. If there’s anything else you’d like to share or if you need assistance, we’re always here to help!
Shipping fee's come after making it separate transactions is so outdated. Some buyers ask you to pay in other ways since it doesn't always work on HiBid. LasVegasAuctions never gave me any of my stuff. The number I called was just some grumpy guy screaming about how they lose all this money on HiBid. Said I had to pay with Zelle... If you want an organized receipt trail... DO NOT BID ON THIS SITE!
Hi Eric, we’re sorry to hear about your experience and truly appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback. HiBid is a platform that connects bidders with independent auction companies, and each seller sets their own shipping policies, payment methods, and terms.
If a seller isn’t providing the level of service expected, we strongly encourage reaching out to HiBid support directly at 844-775-4774 so we can investigate and take appropriate action if needed.
We want every bidder to have a smooth, trustworthy experience, and your comments help bring attention to issues that may need to be addressed. Thank you again for bringing this to light
Experience has been real good especially the pick-up process. My only issue is how the 2 minute clock restarts at the end of each bid. I feels that is a great disadvantage for a buyer who has led the bidding for an item and who really wants it, getting an inflated price at the end. Auction would be more attractive it it ended on the time it was set to expire.
Thank you for your feedback. We understand your concern about the restarts in the last-minute bidding process. The extended time is designed to allow other bidders to respond, but we see how it can feel frustrating when you're leading. We recommend reaching out to the auctioneer directly for any further clarification or concerns regarding bidding time rules, as they may vary by auction. If you need assistance, feel free to contact HiBid support as well.
Great format. No issues with HiBid. Some sellers descriptions are very vague and somewhat misleading. When all responsibility falls on buyer it doesn't seem fair sometimes. HiBid has their part covered
I'm 73 years old and have been buying items for myself, not to resell, for years. I have utilized all the other formats of various names any 'shopper' would recognize. HiBid quickly became my favorite and they are second to none in every way. Believe me, when this old Cherokee Indian says they're the easiest and best to use, try them. Respectfully, Dale (Bigindin)yeah
Thank you so much, Dale! We're honored by your kind words and grateful for your trust in HiBid. It means a lot coming from someone with your experience — we're glad to be your go-to auction platform. Happy bidding, Bigindin!
I thought I had won several items since the auctions were closing with my bid being last one placed, but it turns out the "winning" was at seller's discretion. Reserve wasn't met, so seller didn't want to let go of the items. Either have a minimum bid or make it clear to bidders that it's a seller's discretion. In the end, it was a total waste of my night.
Hi Lynn, thanks for your feedback. That definitely sounds frustrating. Some sellers do place reserves on items, which means the lot won’t sell unless the minimum price is met. These reserve details are usually listed in the auction’s terms and item descriptions. If something isn’t clear, it’s always a good idea to contact the seller directly through the auction page. We appreciate you sharing your experience.
The only pic was a box that appeared to be closed so was assuming it was new. There is absolutely no description of the item just 1 picture. Picked it up and the box was open and the tool had been well used.
Thank you for your feedback, Patrick. We understand your frustration with receiving an item that did not meet your expectations based on the listing. The auctioneer is responsible for providing accurate descriptions and photos, so we recommend reaching out to them directly through the auction page for clarification or to address any concerns. If you're unable to resolve the issue, feel free to contact HiBid support, and we’ll assist in facilitating communication.
Have been using the service for a year or so for a local bi-weekly auction. The system works well, and the only issue I have is not with Hi-Bid, but the auctioneer who can be sporadic with his viewing and start times.
Thanks, Robert! We’re happy to hear HiBid has been working well for you over the past year. We appreciate your continued support and hope your local auctioneer becomes a bit more consistent for an even smoother experience!
It was pretty good. The only thing i dont like is the bidders names. You really dont know if the owner is bidding to drive up the price or not. It should not be anonymous. People driving up the price higher than what you can actually buy the stuff in the stores. Not talking about antiques
Thanks for the 5-star review, Henry! We appreciate your thoughts. Bidding activity is managed by the sellers, and concerns about pricing or transparency are important to note. If you'd like to change your bidder name, you can reach out to HiBid support at 844-775-4774 — they’ll be happy to help walk you through the process.
I recently participated in a couple auctions over the last two weeks. I used a windows 10 computer and an IPhone 16. The computer was fine and had no issues. On the phone, I used the google app primarily on the phone. I could still view and bid on lots with no issues until the lots went "live". Just a minute or two left. The timer would count down and the price would update when people bid, but the bid button would not work for me. I tried repeatedly and sometimes it would go to the confirm bid screen but even then it would stop responding to input. I could go back to the previous page or even to a lot that was not "live" and normal function would return. It was frustrating because I would definitely have spent more money. I even switched to the safari browser on the iPhone and had the same issue.
Hi Nicholas, thank you for the detailed review. We’re glad everything worked well on your computer, but we understand how frustrating that mobile issue must’ve been—especially during live bidding. While the mobile web browser is generally the recommended option, performance can still vary depending on the device, browser, and auction activity. If the issue continues, it may help to clear your browser cache, check for iOS and browser updates, or try using a different device if available.
If problems persist, feel free to reach out to HiBid support at 844-775-4774 so they can look into it more closely. We appreciate your feedback and hope future bidding goes smoother!
Overall, hybrid is as good as any of the other online auctions platforms. However, high bed seems to really run into trouble during the closing and the bidding and the platform can't handle the number of bitters.
Thanks for your feedback, James. While HiBid doesn’t currently report widespread technical issues, we understand performance can vary based on things like device type, browser version, and internet connection. If you continue experiencing delays, feel free to reach out to HiBid Support at 844-775-4774. We appreciate you sticking with the platform and wish you smoother bidding in the future!
During the closing bidding, the platform freezes. You have to exit high bid completely.Sign back in to correct the problem.Missing bids and missing auction items
I recently participated in an online auction, buying things through the HiBid site. It was a local auction and I found the process worked extremely well. I purchased several items. On some I placed my bid several days in advance. And was able to participate in the live auction for several other items. Everything went perfectly. I was successful in buying multiple items and them very pleased with the whole process.
Thanks for the great review, Douglas! We're glad to hear your experience with both pre-bidding and live bidding went smoothly. Enjoy your auction wins!
This was the first auction I ever particpated in, and it was a totally new experience. I was able to win bids on some very nice furniture and other household goods. I had a good time in the process participating with others who were bidding. I would recommend using HiBid to anyone looking to buy items for auction and I look forward to doing it myself again in the future.
Thank you for your wonderful review, David! We're thrilled to hear that your first experience with HiBid was such a positive one. It’s great to know that the process was smooth, and the team at the site was helpful. We appreciate your recommendation and look forward to having you participate in more auctions with us in the future. Happy bidding!
I recently bought a few things at auction, and things went smoothly except when I checked hibid for my current or past bids the lots I bid on and won were not listed anymore. I was a little confused why they were not showing up as current or past bids
Thanks for your feedback, Courtnay! We’re glad to hear things mostly went smoothly. Once an auction ends and the seller sends the invoice, your items may no longer appear under current or past bids, which can definitely be a little confusing. If you're ever unsure, you can always contact the seller directly from the auction page for details or reach out to HiBid support at 844-775-4774.
Answer: Licensed auctioneer here- auction law is that if you give notice that you need to retract your bid before the hammer falls (or the auction ends online) that the auctioneer is required to retract the bid. Actual law also dictates that bidding must start over at opening bid, not the next highest bid.
Answer: Very easy. If you dont get someone immediately they do call back. But once again if you have a problem with items contact the auction house not hibid. Hibid doesn't auction they only provide the platform
Answer: Most auctioneer there are scammers, a thrift store would be better option.
Answer: YES! Confirmed by an auctioneer I know. Hibid auctioneers can see your "maximum bid" and in most states it's legal to "shill" an auction or to bid against the public bidders - to "ensure reasonable sale prices" per national auctioneers associations. Also, anyone can set up an identity and bid against you. Although that may get interesting when they have to pay a commission to "buy" their own item!
Answer: "Mechanically challenged" is often a term auctioneers use to indicate that an item might not be functioning properly. It usually means that the piece needs repairs, doesn't operate as intended, or may have some technical issues. It's best to reach out to the seller for a clearer explanation to avoid any surprises. By confirming the exact condition directly with them, you'll have a better understanding of what you're bidding on.
Answer: Yes, if you suspect any fraud, please contact HiBid directly at 844-775-4774. Our team is here to assist you and ensure a safe and secure experience.
Answer: Some auctioneers require credit card verification as part of the bidder registration process. This process involves a temporary authorization charge of $1.00 to ensure the card is valid. In some cases, additional processing fees or taxes might cause the amount to appear slightly higher, such as $1.46. Please rest assured that this is not an actual charge but rather a temporary hold that will be released by your card issuer. Typically, these holds clear within 5-7 business days, depending on your financial institution. If the charge doesn't disappear after this time, we recommend contacting your credit card provider for further assistance.
Answer: Thank you for reaching out regarding your bidder rating and the reasons behind it. Bidder ratings on HiBid are determined by various factors, such as your bidding activity and whether you've been permanently approved or declined by auction companies in the past. Unfortunately, HiBid support and bidders themselves cannot view or access these ratings or the specific reasons behind them, as this information is exclusively available to auctioneers. The best way to gain insight is to contact an auctioneer you have a good relationship with or one whose auctions you'd like to participate in. They may be able to provide some clarity or work with you to address any concerns.
Answer: Thank you for reaching out! We understand how it can be confusing when an item is removed before an auction ends, but please rest assured it's not a scam. Sometimes auctioneers encounter unforeseen issues and may need to cancel or relist items. Keep in mind that auctioneers often work with consignors to ensure items are sold fairly, which can involve reserve prices or other considerations that may or may not be visible on specific listings. We recommend reaching out to the auctioneer directly for more details. If you have any difficulty reaching them, we're here to help facilitate communication.
Answer: Yes, HiBid regularly features a wide selection of motorcycles available for auction.
Thank you for sharing your experience, Marvin. We take concerns about bidding integrity very seriously and understand how situations like this can be frustrating.
In auctions on our platform, sellers are not permitted to bid on their own items, and shill bidding is strictly prohibited. However, there are times when bids may be legitimately retracted or removed—such as in the case of non-qualified bidders, clerical errors, or other valid reasons determined by the auctioneer managing the sale. Since each auction is independently operated by auctioneers and resellers, they are responsible for monitoring bidding activity and ensuring fair practices.
We strongly encourage you to contact the auction company directly for clarification on the bidding activity you observed. If you feel the issue remains unresolved, you're welcome to reach out to our support team at (844) 775-4774, and we can further investigate the matter with the auctioneer involved.
Your trust is important to us, and we appreciate you bringing this to our attention.
