HiBid Reviews Summary

The company has established a reputation for providing a user-friendly online auction platform, with many customers appreciating the ease of bidding and tracking items. Positive feedback highlights the quality of products and efficient transaction processes. However, significant concerns arise regarding website performance, excessive shipping charges, and insufficient customer support, particularly in resolving issues related to missing items and unclear invoicing. Overall, while the platform is favored for its convenience and product variety, improvements in customer service responsiveness and transparency in seller charges are necessary to enhance the overall customer experience.

HiBid as a platform is just that - if you have any problems with the items posted on their site - they will tell you that you are on your own. NO help - even if it is egregious and obvious. My review is that you look ANYWHERE else if you are spending your money on items that are misrepresented on their platform.
I am now discontinuing use of their "software" as a buying opportunity.

This place is sending spam texts without permission. There is no way to opt out of them, I was forced to block them. They have alot of nerve taking advantage of having a registered user's phone number! They did the same thing with emails!

Their site is convoluted, very difficult to sort to find items of interest at nearby auctions. Auctions are like the wild west, as they give deceitful descriptions, hide item condition within photos and fail to reply to emails. I've received items that were broken, filthy and had to be tossed in the trash! I'd have never bid on them had the photos shown these issue or description stated them. The auction houses apparently have no required guidelines in regards to honesty or showing what one is bidding on! Many of the shipping handling charges and buyer fees are extremely high, adding upwards of 35% to your bid. Be very careful. I will think twice before bidding on any auctions on hibid. They apparently don't jury their auction houses!

I'd say highly unethical sums up this site as well as many of the auction houses on it. I give it 2 stars versus 1, only because I know there are some good auction houses, but with the site being so oversaturated it's hard to find them!

Con artists
March 23, 2020

I "won" a property... only to find out you HAD to have an $80,000 club membership (that is not a typo, and you Had to have this membership... to own a bare 1 acre parcel), auctioneer was aware but didn't make mention of it. When i "informed" them, they hit my credit card for everything they could get and stopped responding.

Ironically, they also left a "negative" remark on my account that apparently only other hi-bid companies can see... so i've been declined from bidding at 99% of other sales ever since. I contacted hi-bid, they said i should have researched the property better... i say the auctioneer knowingly held back information...

I've been doing auctions for a living for almost 18 years... hi-bid has been the worst service i have encountered.

I quite often get the feeling that the auction site is bidding against me up to my reserve high bid. Always seems my high bid is matched but never over and not just occasionally. Many bids on many items in the same auction. Anyone else get that feeling?

Used hibid many times
December 22, 2019

I have used hibid for what i collect as well as for my business. With every use for my personal use i always contact the auction house directly to find out their shipping costs. For the most part they are reasonable. Some have high fees but i figure that into my bidding. All items i have had shipped always arrived in as described condition. I have also enjoyed the fact that when i put items online it exposes them to a much larger audience. With some rare items hibid has gotten me over 5 times what they go for in my area. I love buying vintage rc cars from this site. What i will tell people is do your own research on what you are bidding on this is not Ebay meaning when sold it is as is where is. With no guarantees. Contact the seller if you have questions. I have found most times they respond and are happy to tell you about it. Also check the reviews of the auction house. I know if i tell people in good working order i stand behind it.

Scammers
November 16, 2019

Most of the auctioneers are scammers there.
Placed a bid, had no minimum bid price mentioned.
Won the the lot, they told min price was higher, which was never mentioned.

Service for bidder
November 13, 2019

Never receive the winning bids from multiple auctions from Trice auction. Can't get any communication from the aTrice with phone and email. Because it's HiBid sponsor auction, I called them for help. The only help that received was the Trice auction phone number. Use proxid bid.

Good way to flip items
November 3, 2019

Its a great auction site. All auctions have swoop in buyers, its your job to watch your items. Know what you're bidding on's value. Be careful not to over pay, aalmost always a high buyers premium. So far I've bought many lots and very satisfied with my items. Watch on shipping, some auctions do not ship so you have to drive quite a long drive sometimes. But like i said returns for me have been profitable.

Feel cheated
October 28, 2019

Had high bid on an item right to the end of the auction, auction ended, looked like I won, then an update and my top bid was beaten by $10. Emailed the auctioneer no response. Have spent a lot with hibid, they will not get another dime of my money.

Bad Business
September 30, 2019

I was on Hi Bid Sunday 9/19/19 bidding. I was winning the auction, then it close and allowed onsite bidding. Why bid on HiBid when it will close on only allow onsite bidding. If this is the case, why bid. I called Hi bid and was told that the auction companies have their own rules. Dont understand why HiBid would allow companies with that policy, it's HiBid web site. HiBid just said sorry. I said goodbye to HiBid. I am sorry that I strayed from proxibid.

They had amazon returns with a value of "$2500". When I picked it up half the boxes were just a part of what should have been there. Ie. Empty plastic case that used to have tools in it etc. And even if boxes had products in it, it wouldn't come close to $2500. I tried to email platinum and they ignored me. Also hibid has no one to contact to complain to

I buy from several of the auctions and for the most part they are good. I however have run into a few extortion artists that will over charge you to get your items shipped. You have to not use the auctions that do that Uc Rogers is one of them. They recommend a neal and bob fox to ship charged me 3 times as much as a i got a for a lesser amount of tools shipped. The auction it self was not bad but the shipper was under there recommendation so it reflects very badly on them.

I have called 2 times for them to fix their app, it is a horrible app that on android and apple crashes at the start. Now it crashes and it will not allow me to proceed. I have lost thousands of dollars because of the app not working. It is glitchy at best. Two calls to Hibid in Ocala Florida has solved nothing but them trying to make me sound foolish. I have done everything their tech department told me to do, still nothing is resolved or fixed with the app. They tell me to go on the mobile website " it's the same thing " they tell me. It is not, it does not allow real time interaction between auctions like the app did. I have filed a complaint with the state of Texas over this. If I was a small item bidder, I would just say screw it. I invest thousands of dollars to make a return on my investment. When I am losing items because I am not notified of a live auction at that time than its time for them to fix their piece of junk app. I hope they monitor this post and fix it.

Ignorant
April 27, 2019

How can you bash a company that just supplies the format for auctioneers to sell on. Hibid isn't selling the items. If you need to bash someone blast the auction house. I buy all the time from auctioneers running auctions through hibid.com. If your getting bad items it isn't hibid you should have a problem with. DUH

They bid on their own stuff to raise the price. Then people unaware pay five dollars more than the coin is worth and then the seller charges eight dollars for shipping when the real cost is a dollar. If you are wanting to buy coins go to a real site. You are better off buying from amazon or walmart.
