I was looking into buying from HelloFresh and take advantage of their discount to try their service. So I started putting on my information. I got to the point where they ask for your Credit card. They ask for that before you get to choose your meals. So I entered it. Then something came up and I thought I would come back later and finish it. I got sick and figured I would do it later. But before I can do that, a package shows up with meals I did not order. What was worse is we can't eat most of it because they sent spicy meals.
I called them and they just do not care. They said when I entered my credit card, that gave them permission to send whatever they want.
Receive a code from a friend to try it out. Everything is fine until I go to enter the card info, them BAM all of a sudden the code no longer works, but not to worry, they have other options for me, at 3TIMES THE COST OF THE COUPON I JUST HAD LOADED. SCAM SCAM SCAM buyer beware, shady business practices
I have had 2 deliveries so far. In both, key items were missing. In the first, all the meat was short dated & had to be used within 2 or 3 days of receipt and some vegetables were limp. In week 2 a recipe was missing. In week 2, I was charged £5.98 extra for a venison recipe; I did not receive venison, I believe contrary to trade description. I was sent sirloin steak. Why?! It's not the same as venison, I don't like steak and would never have ordered it. Despite going online, after receiving the second box and being disappointed again & clicking on, first of all 'Skip a week' & then when I found it 'Stop deliveries,' thinking that would cancel my subscription, a payment has again been taken from me and another box is being sent. As I didn't want it, I didn't make choices, so have to accept what I'm sent. I have now managed to cancel my subscription. Not an experience I want to repeat. If you want the convenience, aren't bothered about low quality meat, eg if you want chicken breast rather than chicken thigh, which is what is sent for chicken, you have to pay extra & if you're a fan of tacos & naan type bread & black beans, you'll be ok. Remember, you can buy chicken thigh meat & very fatty pork very cheaply in supermarket. With Hello fresh, you're paying at least £10 a meal for 2 people. You can get a really good quality, prepared meal for less in supermarkets, if you're short of time for preparing meals. I have tried attaching images, but they aren't being accepted.
The food was okay, but I was sent a box by a friend and I needed to fill some form out, without telling me it automatically subscribed me to hello fresh, without notifying me sent me another box and charged me over £30 for it, so no I do not approve of Hello Fresh for this inconvenience it caused me and it's mediocre recipes
I signed up for Hello Fresh through the TMobie discount APP offers $45 off the first order. The Hello Fresh APP isn't the best designed, in fact, the layout is very confusing on purpose so you spend more money. However, I selected my food and paid $165 for the week. The following day I was charged again $20, and then again $15. I tried to instant message, but their site was down, so I called Hello Fresh customer service. I was told I didn't read the small print and these were extra charges. I said I wanted to cancel the whole order that was 5 days away. The customer care representative informed me that the shipment was packed, and they could do nothing. Again, she referred me to the small print. How is Hello FRESH, "fresh" at all? I had only ordered the food 12 hours before this call. I am so disappointed in TMobile for recommending this company, and I don't care how good the food it... this is about customer service and feeling conned. I would NOT recommend you read the small print... instead, go shopping yourself and get some real FRESH food.
I became a customer just on 12/26 without really knowing I became one. I downloaded the app but in order to see meals I had to input my credit card info which should have been flag #1. I didn't like any meals so I didn't choose anything. On Monday 1/02/2023 my bank sent me a statement which showed a charge from HelloFresh?! So I called and was advised that they will choose your meals for you and you have 5 days to cancel but since it was more than 5 days now there was nothing they could do since box was sent?! I didn't get any emails telling they're choosing and charging me.
I checked the App after I was charged and it says I had until 11:59PM to change meals, how can I still change meals yet they can't cancel the order? I asked to cancel or speak to supervisor. Was put on hold for 30 mins and advised supervisor would call me back that day...here I sit on Tuesday 1-03-2023. NO call, no resolution, and charged for meals I didn't want. Worst experience ever. How can you be so sneaky and not let people know what and when and when contacted with an unhappy customer not offer ANY resolution?
DO NOT EVEN GO ON THEIR WEBSITE. I went on the website just to check it out after hearing about it from influencers. You HAVE to put a CC on the account to even look. Didn't even pick anything just took a little look and than I was charged next day, it said I COULD make changes so I called and once I gave the account it said I COULD'NT make changes "it has to be 4 days in advance" the representative was rude and said sorry after charging me $200 for something I didn't want
Called the contact center stating that I got a notification from the courier saying my delivery was canceled but the advisers kept telling me that the parcel was on its way.
I have a print screen where it says that the job was canceled and sent to them and still didn't believe me.
I have then contacted the delivery company and they say that the order was never received. - sent this report to hello fresh and still didn't believe me.
I called back hello fresh and they told me the same again that food is out for delivery and that I need to wait and see.
As you can imagine I have an empty fridge, fiends at home to try the foods and nothing will arrive.
How frustrating and embarrassing is this? Not to meantime unprofessional and poor management.
Honestly the worst purchase I could have ever got myself into.
The next day I called twice.
First call they gave me £7 credit to use on my next box. And they made it look like a great compensation which was just embarrassing and offensive.
The second time I called (my 5th in total) the lady told me I have received £15 extra pounds to compensate for the box that never arrived. Which is even less money that I payed for my original box - that by the was was not being delivered anymore.
Canceled the subscription straight away and asked for the total refund. Advised all my friends not to get into this because it's not worth the trouble. There are other brands that have healthier and tastier food and their costumer service actually get things done.
Mistake mistake mistake
Do not buy a Hello Fresh gift card. It is not treated as cash. You can not use it with a subscription, so it's value is actually far less than what was paid for it. Borderline scam!

I took a chance and ordered HelloFresh to try to make our week easier and to cook meals together as a family. Unfortunately, first week of orders, they sent ground pork instead of chicken with one of the meals. They also did not include the necessary spices in the order which would have come with them. These are not spices most would have on hand either. Second week was so much worse. We ordered a box of 4 meals. One with porkchops, 2 chicken, and a 4th of fish. We did not get any fish, only one chicken. The other two proteins they sent were ground pork again. The pork didn't go with any of the ingredients well, so we ended up with only having one meal of the 4 able to be made. Also, the cucumbers for one of the meals was rotten. When I contacted customer support both weeks, I found they do not give refunds but credits that I would receive after 16 boxes. That's 16 weeks of food that I no longer wanted because of the issues. On top of that, they don't credit the full meal that proteins are missing from and just give credits for the proteins themselves which meant the other ingredients went unused because we could not get to store to get replacements. I canceled and will not look back. Complete failure because I lost so much money on unusable food. I do not recommend them in any way.
I got my first HF box and I can send my friends "free boxes". So I sent one to my flatmate. As far as I recall, Hello Fresh did not specifically wrote on its advertisement that a free box cannot be deliver to the same address (just confirmed with a Hello Fresh staff on the phone yesterday. He told me they will NEVER write such thing on the poster. So isn't it a scam then?). I called yesterday after reading the HCM international email (third party HF use to chase after payments) and that same Hello Fresh staff told me I did not get the "free box" discount, therefore I need to pay 41.99 for that box. However I do have bank records showing I got a box for free but later Hello Fresh returned the shipping fee and demanded me to pay 41.99. Just we thought Hello Fresh will never deliver the box because the transaction failed, it did (this box is not a subscription, the box should never be sent to the address). Now the company asked HCM as a third party to get involved on this issue (they send multiple emails and because I don't check this inbox frequently, HCM raised the price to 47.99, they simply added 6 pounds on top of the original price), I could not agree with such forceful action. Therefore, called wanting to speak to a manager at Hello Fresh. It's been 2 days and I haven't received the manager's call. Apparently the manager needs to investigate the issue before giving a call back...
I have had 6 meals from Hello Fresh so far and every one was delicious! It takes me a little longer to complete the meals than their estimated time, but I'm going to try cutting up the veggies all at once for the week's meals to cut down on prep time. Many times, there are veggies left over after my husband and I are full and even after feeding a little to our toddler.
This service is great if you like veggies (and don't mind smaller meat portions than what you'd get at a restaurant, but still big enough) including carrots, bell peppers, green beans, yukon potatoes, parsnips, sweet potatoes/yams, and arugula... which seem to be prevalent in the recipes.
I just had a tiny bit of mold on one of the garlic cloves, but no problems other than that. I do wish there were less carrots & parsnips and more broccoli or something else green. The meals come to $11.50 each for our plan... 3 meals/week for two people totaling $69 (includes shipping). It does sound like a lot, but it helps us eat healthier food and eliminates at least one grocery store trip a month, so I don't mind paying a little more for the benefits.
Portion sizes so small we're still hungry after each meal. Had to supplement with other ingredients and add more meat. We're normal sized people - not overweight - but meal sizes are more for children.
Food quality left something to be desired. All fresh produce is extremely small. No expiration dates on any meat. Totally unacceptable. Not cool that we have to trust that the meat is fresh. I don't trust my health to a company that refuses to give proper expiration dates.
Talked to customer service about canceling a box. She confirmed it was done and that a refund was processed. Wasn't true. Box arrived and no refund was issued. Contacted CS again who said "oh darn. Hate that for you. We can only authorize 50% refund." I had proof of my conversation but they refused to accept my screenshots.
I unsubscribed from email and am still getting emails. The last one had no unsubscribe link at the bottom which is a violation.
Every single thing that could have been good with HF was much less than acceptable. So good bye and good riddance.
Used Hello Fresh since lockdown and no complaints up until Tues 5th Sept 2023. We were expecting our food delivery and had a tracking message from Yodel to say delivery between 10.57 and 12.57. Didn't turn up and tracking was not updated despite checking constantly until after 8pm. Went on chat to Hello Fresh, just told to wait. Went on chat to Yodel, just told to check tracking number (I DID!). Food eventually tuned up at 20.30 pm. Stand in driver advised that the box had been sat in the baking sun all day as the van had broken down. No one from Hello Fresh bothered to update me either via phone or email. Have been trying since then to get a refund/compensation even some sort of blooming acknowledgement via online chat/phone and emails. Nothing. No one bothering to contact me. Each time I manage to get through to follow up I am just told someone will be in contact. Nearly a week later and still chasing. Absolutely disgusting. Will not be using them again nor could I recommend anyone else to do so. All is fine until something goes wrong (and it does, just read the reviews!) and then you are just ignored...
I RECEIVED A COUPON ($50 OFF FIRST 2 BOXES). I RECEIVED 25 OFF MY FIRST BOX CHARGE BUT WAS CHARGED FULL PRICE FOR MY SECOND BOX. I HAVE ATTEMPTED CALLING 3 TIMES AND HAVE BEEN DC 3 TIMES. I WENT ON-LINE TO CANCEL MY SUBSCRIPTION AND GOT THE FOLLOWING MESSAGE.

We received 4- 75.00 gift cards. When I tried to place an order, to use them, I had to sign up first, with a credit card. I then tried apply all four gift cards. It would only allow me to do one. I called the customer service representative and he told me that normally, only one could be used at a time. He said that he could apply a second one and that we should order 4-2 person meals, for two weeks. We should only be about 3.00, out of pocket for each week. He also said that I should then cancel the membership and get another one in a few weeks, to use the other gift cards. He said he would cancel my membership for after the first two weeks. Instead of receiving one week's worth of food, they sent both weeks. I also saw that I was charged 95.03 on my credit card. I have just spoken with a customer service representative and was told that because he had the food sent in one week, rather than two, that they could only apply one gift card, thus the charge to my credit card. I would love, more than anything, to recommend this company. I know that the people, who sent the gift cards, was trying to think of us while we are going through some major medical issues. Unfortunately, instead of being helpful, this company has caused me to spend much time and effort to get this resolved. I will be contacting the BBB.
Received two meals for 54. Vegetable was spoiled. Over priced. No free meals. No discount. Charged for shipping. Go out to eat. Get fresh food. Packed on the 4th. Shipped on the 18th..
Apparently you have to cancel both the subscription AND the boxes, otherwise they keep sending them and charging. We canceled the subscription and thought we were done, nope! You have to cancel the boxes too! So 4+ days after canceling, we get a notification that a box was delivered. Since we had canceled and didn't pick the recipes, HelloFresh just sent whatever was left in overstock. And of course it was everything that is not edible due to severe food allergies. They were asked to come get it back, but they won't. They just prefer to send people to the hospital and have them waste their money on low quality food. And since we had canceled the service several days before hand, noone could plan on being home to pick up the food. So it will sit for 12+ hrs in 90 degrees weather and spoil.
It was going to have to be thrown out anyways since nothing was allergy safe, but now it will be all nasty and smelly on the patio before it makes it to the trash. The credit card was closed down due to the company's untrustworthy practices and a charge dispute was also made.
I received my first box two days ago. Since my friend/co-worker was really impressed with this service I thought I would give it a try since she offered me a coupon for a free box. First, the box was very heavy due to the large ice packs inside. These of course had melted a bit and the bottom of the box was a bit soggy. The box was neatly packed but the smaller boxes inside were wet on the bottom due to the ice packs.
The first meal I chose to make was the Jerk Chicken with Peaches. The peach was rotten. I had to use my own fresh peach. The recipe was easy to follow and everything turned out ok. It was plenty of food for my husband and me.
The next day I wanted to make the steak with chipotle sauce. I opened the box with the "fresh" ingredients and the ear of corn was spoiled. The onion was growing sprouts, and the can of chipotle peppers appeared to be about 10 years old! It was dented, dirty, label torn, and expiration date/code was worn off. I certainly would not have purchased this in a grocery store.
So, I put the meat in the freezer and discarded all other ingredients. Needless to say I have cancelled my subscription.
I had received HelloFresh gift cards for Christmas to try the subscription service out. However, when I redeemed my gift cards they didn't show up on my account and I was forced to enter my credit card. When I called customer service about it they said they can't apply a gift card if you have a coupon code (which they give you with your first order) and that it would be applied to my next order. Well my next order got lost in the mail and said they would refund my card and get free shipping my next meal. When I went to see if I got refunded, I didn't. So I called customer service again and finally was able to get the gift card applied to next order but he said I would still have to pay for the shipping since the gift card was seen as a coupon. Applying gift cards is so difficult he said to call customer service each time to get it applied one by one. Never has it been so difficult to use a gift card and so frustrating. I will not be using this service after gift cards are used up which is a bummer because the meals have all been tasty.
Answer: I signed up and realised its a scam - your first order is only able to be placed 2 weeks away, meaning they get your money even if you use a coupon... and from other reviews they won't let you cancel. I just registered a voucher, saw the dates and tried to cancel... and can't - there is no "cancel" on their website
Answer: You will still have to pay for delivery and such because this company says those things cannot be covered by a gift card. Beware signing up, because they will subscribe you as soon as you enter credit card information. It is in their Terms and Conditions at the beginning of the process.
Answer: You're automatically on auto ship…any week you don't overtly cancel will get sent out and you'll get charged.
Answer: Nor really. They will want to give you a partial refund of the single ingredient you found to be of poor quality... and that's if you want to take the time to navigate the website to find out how to do it. Their website is totally designed to make customer service difficult.
