Product itself is above average. Customer service is a nightmare. Ordered gift basket this year on 12/10/20... basket was "delivered" 12/24/20 to wrong address. Customer (me), contacted customer service who supposedly updated address information and promised a "better" basket to be delivered, 12/30/20 which never happened. Customer (me) contacted regarding missing basket and was told, that item was sold out, and customer (me) "should have been called", which didn't happen. Wonderful nieces and nephews went without holiday cookies. Beyond frustrated and angry at this company's customer service blunders. Reaching out to corporate for some sort of resolution
I have used 1-800-flowers and Harry and David in the past. Never have my orders been delivered on time. This time though the late delivery is going to result in $150 worth of food sitting outside in Las Vegas going bad.

I ordered a Birthday Gift Tower for my sister's 85th birthday. The package was delivered a day earlier than expected. Everything was fine, except for the box of pears. The pears were frozen solid due to traveling in sub-zero temperatures during New England's polar freeze at the beginning of February, 2023. The first photo posted is of the pears' appearance on arrival. The second photo is a cut pear a day later.
I contacted customer service and was told they would immediately send a replacement box. Instead of five pears, my sister just received a box with a dozen beautiful pears (the third photo). She is very pleased.

Very disappointed with them! The products are not fresh, small size, cheap quality! The backlava tasted old rancid, smoked salmon was below average, cannot put in words the disappointment! Payed for a basket 350$, the only good thing was the popcorn bags! Never again! I can put together a better basket for a fraction of that price!
Over the years, I have bought from Harry and David's many times. The reason I justify paying such a high price is because of the consistently beautiful product. Not so any more! One person I sent to had to throw away all but one of the pears. They were soggy, skin was off one, and the rest were actually sitting in soggy pile of pear juice. My box however was saveable, but for this low quality of pears I could go to the grocery store for! Every pear had marks and there were big brown(not bruised) marks on some as well. Even the one in the gold foil was sub-par. Were these ones edible? Yes. But they will need to be eaten fast and are definately NOT the Harry and David products from the past. I don't think I will return.
After 4 phone calls, no one could restore my account. All 4 had thick accents that made them very hard to understand. One told me, let's stop trying to access your account. He told me to go back in and sign in as a Guest. There is no way to do this. I found this out when I called back. I wanted to spend $296 for a Wine/Cheese Monthly Club but, I could never figure out how to place an order online. I could have placed the order over the phone but my communication was so sketchy with the reps I didn't dare try to do it that way. Harry and David has good products but the worst customer service I've ever experienced. I remember in the past dealing with efficient, easy to communicate reps. That's apparently a thing of the past. After wasting a couple hours of my life with Harry and David I will never order from them again and I will make sure to pass this on.
A package for Mother's Day was scheduled to be delivered May 7,2020. I placed the order two weeks in advance. I called the company three times to get my order status. All representatives told me it was in transit. I contact Fedex and they tell me it has been labeled for shipment by Harry and David, but Fedex has not received it. So, my mother-in-law has no present. Will never use this company again.
Very tasty) decent broth, Caesar salad. My daughter was pleased with the chicken with cheese cap and potatoes. I would especially like to mention our waitress Julia - very friendly, positive and professional! Served with good service) Thank you very much!
Harry and David sent me a Hemplers ham which is fine but it's a $50 ham and I paid $180 for. Their service was horrible, completely incompetent. I ordered Sharis berries from them and they were disgusting. A brand that has lost its luster. DO NOT ORDER. Total garbage
I received a box of Six Royal Riviera pears. My sister in law sent them to us, she is 82 years old and the old man is 97. This is just unacceptable for a company that seems to have a good reputation. My sister in law spent over $50 for these. I would not have picked
those pears at a local supermarket. I'll have to feed them to the iguanas,,,,,lol
I placed an order ten days in advance and paid extra for the delivery on a particular day. Few days later I received a refund on my card. I was worried, called them and they assured me that everything is fine. Day before the expected delivery I called them again and found out that the order was frozen or something. They fixed it, refunded me delivery charge, and it was delivered three days later. The saddest part is that they did not add customized card I ordered and even were not able to mail it later.
So, if you decide to place order with them, make sure to call few times and check the status of your order. Also, I would not recommend to order customized cards or particular day delivery.

Worst experience I've ever had with a mail order! The person that took my order could barely speak. English took me 40 minutes to place an order. When the people got their order, there was no acknowledgment of who sent the order to them! I called and complained And they wanted me to accept 50% off on any future order. I explained I was not interested. I will never use them again. They don't care.
I canceled their subscription called "Passport" back in January 2023 after they completely botched orders, NOW (Dec 2023) they are trying to renew the subscription that was canceled and charge me. They hung up on me after me waiting on hold with them for 30+ minutes etc. What a run around! Stay away
Everything in the gift basket was either damaged or of poor quality. In the past, receiving a Harry & David box was thrilling as you knew everything inside would be the very finest. The new owners have trashed this one time symbol of class and prestige!
I bought fruit and cheese of the month club for my mom. I paid in full last December 2023. She didn't get her July or August delivery. I contacted harry and david through their chat feature (which oddly takes HOURS to converse with someone) and was promised replacement deliveries by today. I was told I would receive email confirmation of the replacements. I never got an email and they didn't come. I called and waited on hold for an hour and a half, opting to stay on the call instead of receiving a call back (it felt like a thousand times i had to select "2" to stay on the call) before I finally opted for the call back option. No one called me back. I am on chat again. The new person can't see my original chat. I've had to re-explain everything. They can't help me. They are saying their request for a refund for half of the year isn't going through. They said a manager would call me. I can't talk during my work day. I said I don't want to talk to anyone, this is simple, I didn't get July or August - credit me those months, credit the rest. Simple. No conversations need to be had. I've wasted an unbelievable amount of time on something I've already paid for, already. This is sad. Whatever changes they made has ruined their delivery standards and customer service. The trust is gone.
This is the third time I've order Harry & David and the third time they slightly screwd up. Three out of three gets you one star.
This time, they happily charged me for delivery on a specific day and missed it by a week. Then I had to jump through hoops to get that charge refunded.
I ordered at least six different H&D baskets for family/friends this holiday. One had one and the bottle was broken and leaked everywhere. They replaced it. It happened AGAIN. Just don't send any of their baskets with wine, they don't know how to package wine.

This review was written by my son on my behalf. I am 84 yrs. Old and do not use computers. My daughter sent me a Harry and David gift for mothers day. It was cake that looked like ice cream cones. Dry cake and soggy cone. I wrote them an e-mail. They want order info. I do not have it as I threw out the package. I do not want my daughter contacted as she will then know her gift was a failure. I sent a follow up e mail explaining this. Harry and David ghosted me so, I had decided to call them and now they are replacing the cakes with a cookie selection. Moral is CALL them because they respond better. Kudos to Harry and David.
We were so disappointed. We ordered the Rose Cake because we have had such great treats from Harry &
David in the past. The cake was lop sided, overly sweet, and overall, did not even come close to tasting as good as the $30 grocery store cakes we have purchased down the street. This cake was $80.00! Ouch! Don't order it.
Absolutely horrible! Ordered over $100 worth of goodies for my elderly Father-in-law and paid extra for all to be delivered at his assisted living on 12/23/19. Received an email on 12/20 that it was delivered on 12/19. I called them and was told that, yes it was delivered and they can refund the extra that I paid to be delivered on 12/23. This was the majority of his Christmas and he has it almost a full week early. Absolutely no apology! Won't ever use them again and hope that between this review and "word of mouth", I can do some damage to their business. Might make them have better customer service.

Answer: In the past this company offered excellent quality products--albeit a bit overpriced. Now the price is the same (or higher) but the quality has definitely gone downhill. Not sure if the company was bought out or what, but... I will never order from them again. They have done permanent damage to their reputation and their customer base is eroding quickly.

Answer: It isn't difficult to reach them via phone, just be prepared for hold times. I would definitely recommend calling them rather than email, the email correspondence I had with them was hopeless.
