Will NEVER buy from Harry & David again. Have been a faithful customer for many years, but this year was horrible. Do NOT purchase flowers off their site. The flowers I ordered were never delivered and they used a bounce technique - H&D couldn't do anything and 1-800-flowers said H&D had to correct. Back and forth with more than 10 calls and 20 emails and still not resolved. Will be reporting to BBB as it looks like that is the only way to resolve. Have never experienced anything like this.
Received a Christmas box from Harry and David that was to include 6 pears, but the pears were missing. Contacted their customer service and they said they would send out a box containing six pears. Got them today and they were ALL brown, soft and rotten! These gift boxes or anything containing food is a RIPOFF! Buy from another vendor…. Not Harry and David
If I could give 0 stars I would. Placed my order 2 times on line and once with a customer service person. All 3 times my large order was canceled without notification. They couldn't definitively tell me the reason just there was a problem with the order details. All the billing information was in order. I even called my bank to make sure they weren't the problem. Every time you call you get an overseas calling center. They are polite but not helpful. They can only keep placing the order that later gets canceled. I am taking my business elsewhere. So disappointed in this company and very frustrating.
The gift basket I ordered was shown by photo to have 6 large pears and a round of cheese. I requested it arrive no later than DEC 5th. It arrived Dec 8th with only 5 pears and a tampered box. When the company was called they said they go by weight of pears not number of pears. This was not written in the ad about weight only a photo of 6 large pears.
Terrible service and very decieving. Ordered their Passport service and paid extra for free shipping only to find out they tack on other extra shipping charges which they don't tell you about. Those charges of course are always around holdays and thus you end up paying way too much. Crappy company and that is putting it mildly. Don't write negative reviews too often but in comparison to Costco or other retailers this company is the armpit and the anus of poor service and crappy products. Shop somwhere else I know I will...and did. Yup, cancelled the order and I am going to challenge their charges for the Passport services with Visa.
My hands are frozen solid from spending a half hour opening two packages of chicken and dumplings to put in my slow cooker. I had to slice open 4 packages of frozen chicken and 6 packages of frozen sauce. It is very difficult to get frozen items out of this packaging. Looser packaging with ziplock closure is the only way to do this. I will NEVER buy this again! The packages are very hard to open when frozen solid and this is NOT convenient at all. My hands are sore and so cold from having to handle this difficult packaging for so long. This is not an easy meal for the consumer.
I have never been so disappointed in this company as I am right now. I have been charged double the amount because of a pre-authorization policy payment?! I live on a fixed income and they deducted double the amount my order was for! I now have to wait 10 business days to receive a refund and I think this is BS! I will make sure I tell everyone who will listen that this new policy is a scam. I am so angry right now and I will never order from this company again. SHAME ON YOU for holding on to your customer's money like this. NOWHERE on the website or the order confirmation email I received states this would happen, otherwise I would never have ordered from them!
Terrible service. Ordered on line, did not receive a receipt, called and on phone 45 minutes and they could not find my order. My CC was charged but they could not find me. Not sure if my order will be delivered or not now. WILL UPDATE.
We received a H&D welcome basket from our neice. We were so excited because I had never been gifted one before. But to our disappointment, we found 2 of the cheeses moldy & it was obvious the the rest of the cheeses in the basket were old & tasteless. We thought, all is not lost we have a bag of mixed nuts. Upon opening, we found a dusty, salty mess. Totally inedible. We did not report to our neice as we did not want her to feel she had provided anything but a delicious, thoughtful gesture. Shame!
I ordered their peach and raspberry pie in November 2022, along with their Holiday Trio, for just over $100 with tax&sh. The pie arrived thawed, and the peaches within were a peachy shade of brown. The thing tasted half-cooked. Most of it went into the trash. The Trio had decent baklava, but the pineapple macadamia cake and cinnamon swirl were dense, rather flavorless, and had the consistency of playdough. 3/4 of both went into the trash. This is assembly line food advertised as gourmet. Save your money and disappointment and avoid ordering anything from them. Just read through the reviews online...
I have been giving Harry and David gifts for a few years actually never received one I just assumed they were good. I just reviewed a Harry and David Deluxe Breafast Tin as a Christmas Gift. Horrible Gift Bottom line the food was tasteless. I feel terrible for sending them to friends.

Today May 7th at 1pm I was informed by a rep from Harry and David that the order I placed to be delivered to a recovering mom on May 8th could NOT be delivered until June. No explanation was given. No suggestions No Help was offered. Just sorry. The item was advertised specifically for Mother s day after checking I was told it was oversold And when they went to fill our order the ham was finish. Mother s Day letdown the answers were dry and very uncaring. Like who cares we have other customers. Your customers are moms also
Over Priced Nothing! Placed order for cake delivery on the Feb 20th, no email or call whatsoever! Was supposed to be delivered Thursday, February 25th and contacted FedEx a day before delivery and was told they have not received the cake, only received info of item to be delivered. This was supposed to be a gift for my granddaughter which was the only request for her! Emailed Harry & David about the situation and they were no help at all in trying to get the cake to my granddaughter! All they can say was " so sorry, please give it a few more days to have this problem solved". Really?! NEVER AGAIN! So I made another cake order with BAKE ME A WISH just last night and they followed through with delivery which will be delivered tomorrow Feb. 26! Thank you so much Bake Me A Wish!
I ordered a sympathy basket from H&D yesterday morning. That afternoon, I found out that the recipient had moved from the delivery address so when I called H&D to change the address, I was told that they could not help because the delivery was coming from a third party. I would have appreciated if I would have been told prior to my purchase that it was coming from some place else. Long story short, I received no help from H&D, 1-800-flowers, or FedX. Needless to say, I will not be ordering from H&D again. Their customer service is horrible.
I ordered the same gift item to be sent to 2 different people: same item to 2 people. I was told there was a problem with one of the orders and they had cancelled it. When I called customer service (a call center) they could not tell me why it had been cancelled, but offered to re-order the item, telling me that the charge on my credit card had already been deleted. Being naive, I agreed. Duh! I now have 2 charges on my credit card and no item has been delivered. I have called customer service 4 times and have been unable to get any information or help.
For two weeks they keep saying the order had shipped via FED x. Provide me with a tracking number. For two weeks Fed x said this number does exist. Then they said the order ship today but
Fed x said no such tracking number. It is ashame how far down hill this company has fell
I have done business with many different organizations in my 82 years. I have been dupped a few times, but never have I been scamed like Harry & David did to me. I received a 10"X7"X2" box that they charged me just under $40 for. Go to the grocery store and build your own, you'll get much more for your money
I placed an order on 12/7 with shipments to two different addresses. One shipment was delivered on 12/10. On 12/16, I emailed customer service and asked why my second order hadn't shipped. Angel responded that my order hadn't shipped. No kidding! On 12/17 in the morning, I emailed them again, and Romeo responded that my order had "entered the shipping process". During the evening, I noticed my order had still not shipped, so I emailed them again. The morning of 12/18, I received an email saying the package will be delivered on 12/24. I went to the H&D website, clicked on my account, clicked on the FedEx tracking number, and FedEx says delivery is expected on 12/22... and it gives the shipment origin "Ohio". I thought H&D and their pears were located in Oregon. Inconsistent information, but at least "something" will be delivered. BAD BAD EXPERIENCE. I will NEVER do business with them again.
I placed an order for Boss's day on 10/8 and paid for expedited shipping. I was advised it would arrive between 10/10-10/16. On 10/13,14, and 15, I chatted with Harry and David and was advised it would still get there. On 10/15, I told the agent it still hadn't shipped how it get there in 1 business day. I called today, 10/16 and was advised that it was on backorder until 11/5. I explained that was unacceptable and Boss's day is today 10/16. They provided a scripted apology but offered no solution. I am very upset at the lack of professionalism.

Answer: In the past this company offered excellent quality products--albeit a bit overpriced. Now the price is the same (or higher) but the quality has definitely gone downhill. Not sure if the company was bought out or what, but... I will never order from them again. They have done permanent damage to their reputation and their customer base is eroding quickly.

Answer: It isn't difficult to reach them via phone, just be prepared for hold times. I would definitely recommend calling them rather than email, the email correspondence I had with them was hopeless.
