When I entered choice, before I placed order, shipping cost was one price then when I went to order it jumped
Almost double. Tried to chat and that person was no help. I cancelled order and also made the mistake of joining passport and also wanted to cancel that but was told it was a separate co and had to contact them. I contacted them and was told I already used it so could not cancel. I told them I had cancelled the order therefore did not use it. The reply was they did not have enough info to access my order so needed all kinds of information so how did they have enough to say I used the membership? Wish I had read reviews before I
Started this nightmare. Oh and they had a choice of cards to send, which I did. Then I get a reply saying the cards were from a sister company and they could not fulfill that request. What is it doing on their website?

I ordered for the first time a gift for my father's birthday and Father's Day. I got the Raspberry Cheesecake and the Heritage Chocolate Assortment.
My dad said the Raspberry Cheesecake was not worth buying due to the crust being so think and not much for the thickness of the cheese also the flavor was just so so, he also said the my brother also had a slice of the cheesecake and was not happy with it. The Heritage Chocolate was well worth buying. I did call Harry and David and they were very apologetic and gave me the choice to have the money back on the cheesecake or replace it with something else of same value. I asked them to please send him another box of the Heritage Chocolates. They did at not charge shipping cost and he got it the very next day. I am pleased with their customer service… I am giving full stars due to the good customer service.

I ordered jam for my neighbor. When it arrived, 1 jar was broken. I called and customer service said they would replace the broken jar. My neighbor is 93 and shouldn't have to be cleaning up a broken mess. Glass slivers and messy jam over the other jars is not a gift, it's a headache. And at that age, agility is a factor and getting cut or slivered is a real risk. They should just have said, "we're sorry, and of course we will replace the whole gift"
I bought from Harry & David without doing due diligence to see if the same product was available elsewhere. A day after placing my order I checked Amazon and they have the same chocolates at a lower price. Also note that I'm a prime member thus I also receive free shipping. H&D used UPS to ship my parcel. I placed my order on Friday morning and it's now Wednesday morning, 5 days later, and the intended recipient still HAS NOT received the package. If I had to do it over again I would choose Amazon without a doubt or simply buy a competitor's product (a gazillion places sell cookies and cakes). Shame on me for not doing proper research/due diligence!
INCOMPETENT & DECEITFUL. Worse customer support, ever. I emailed them and their reply back made no sense, it didn't even answer my question. I then call and they said they will send me an email with credit towards a future purchase, which I never received. I sent an email and no response. They don't seem to care about customer service.
I received two gifts from Harry & David recently. The pears were delicious, as well as the other items in the container. I also received two dozen macadamia and chocolate chip cookies which are outstanding. Love their products!
Was told that the wait would be over 2 hours, so opted for the callback option. 5 hours later I did get callback, but the caller had very garbled voice so I asked her to repeat, got the same garbled voice. Sounded like the customer service person was at the end of a tunnel, and had reverberation on her phone. Language was definitely Indian or Pakistani, kind of English, but not understandable.
I asked to be transferred to someone who can speak English and couldn't understand her response.
Then she ended the call, so I never got a chance to order.
Got an expensive fruit basket from family member. The pears are sweet but I can get sweet pears at the grocery store. The oranges are not sweet- actually they are a little sour. This is such a waste of money. I can get sour oranges at the grocery store.
I have ordered Harry and David gifts for many of my friends over the years. This Christmas I RECEIVED a H&D gift. The pears were lovely, however, hard as a rock and before they ripened, the skin shriveled up. There was no flavor whatsoever. I was truly disappointed.
Christmas shopping for mom. The H&D website said basket would arrive BEFORE Christmas. It was several days LATE, did not make it under the tree. Contacted H&D "support" and they basically told me to "suck eggs" and they could offer a 10% coupon LOL. So **** H&D never ever again. ZERO STARS for Harry David's false advertising and horrible customer support. Money grubbing ***holes.
Received a mixed box as a gift but after reviewing ingredients I will not be eating the majority of it.
If you want to send someone a gift full of harmful chemical ingredients this is the place to get it.
BHA and BHT are the main preserving agents (known cancer causing ingredients banned in many other countries) Not what I'd consider a carefully selected food item to contain. If Harry and David want to brag about their products moving forward they need to do better!
Title says it all. Paid for expedited. No response for customer service. No confirmation of order delivery. No apologies. No anything. Worst company i have ever done business with. FYI i shipped thousands of $'s to my employees all went undelivered for months...
We have been so disappointed in our fruit of the month fruit. We have gotten this in the past about 20 years ago and it was perfect……best fruit we have ever tasted. Just recently ordered again about six months ago and I would say that 5 out of the six deliveries have been completely rotten and too soft. The latest delivery was green and molded. I think it is due to the extreme heat and the fact that there is no ice bag in the box. I just dont understand why they dont chill the fruit. Anyway, needless to say we will never order from Harry and David again.
Received an xmas gift and they substituted 3 items that did not say Harry & David! Uncured pepperoni? Gummy bears that were so chewy I spit out? And 1 mitten cookie... no crackers but send meat and cheese? Very dissapointed... how do you tell someone don't send not worth the money!
Ordered a Christmas basket on 11/30/2020. It was documented as delivered but it was never received. Called H & D. On hold for a long time. Was told they would reship. Never had evidence that it reshipped and it was never received. I had paid for the basket and $29.99 for passport. They will refund the basket (we shall see) but not the passport fee. Will never order from them again. Horrible customer service. Major process problems.
I ordered several gifts baskets for the holidays... I am still waiting for the gift. Since December. Running around from customer service: will get it soon, will get it in January, we are sorry, how about a 20% discount FOR THE NEXT ORDER! Bitterly disappointed at this once upon a time great company.
I order from them a lot and usually no issues. But this year I signed up for the Celebrations crap since I order from them so much thought I'd save money. First order it didn't take my birth date I guess (there was wine in the order) so they had to email me to confirm. Well when they did that they canceled the order and re-entered it forgettng the delivery date I requested for my friends birthday. So she got it weeks early!
2nd order placed same day, asked for 12/22 delivery - she just got it today. I get the weather issues but she didn't even get what I ordered her! Different product. No email to me at all to let me know.
Sorry Harry and David but I think you just lost another customer
Harry and David charged my credit card weeks after I had canceled the Passport delivery option they offer. The service didn't work last year (2020) and customer service never responded to my inquiry. I was concerned when they sent me emails asking me to renew the service so I made sure to turn off the auto-renew. They charged me anyway.
Here is a copy of an email i sent to Harry and David:
Ok so i ordered a basket from you on 12/11/20 today is 12/22/20 and there is still no tracking. Why you ask... because a basket has not been processed! I called yesterday with a 28 minute hold time and a recording said if you would like us to hold your place in line we can call you back. THAT NEVER HAPPENED.
So today i spoke to a customer service representative (off hours and not from the states) who hung up on me after i explained what happened. With all the gifts basket services out there you think Harry and David would keep on their toes. I only wish i would have read a ALL the reviews BEFORE i wasted time ordering from you. I am hereby canceling my order and calling my credit card company to confirm. There are 3 days till Christmas and all i have is a fictitious delivery date. Thanks a lot Harry and David.
I made my first purchase on harryanddavid in 2021 for grape fruit. The fruit quality is no different from a local supermarket. That is fine with me. What made me very upset is that I did not know they automatically put me into annual membership renewal which I never know about it. Until recently when I audit my credit card and find out they have charged the annual membership for last two years. I called the customer service and canceled this membership permanently. They refunded me this years membership, not last year which is too long ago.

Answer: In the past this company offered excellent quality products--albeit a bit overpriced. Now the price is the same (or higher) but the quality has definitely gone downhill. Not sure if the company was bought out or what, but... I will never order from them again. They have done permanent damage to their reputation and their customer base is eroding quickly.
Answer: Why do you think any of these reviews have anything to do with Politics? That's pretty crazy assumption. My basket was 2 weeks late and that is not Political. It's facts.

Answer: It isn't difficult to reach them via phone, just be prepared for hold times. I would definitely recommend calling them rather than email, the email correspondence I had with them was hopeless.
