I bought two faucets through Wayfair and paid to have Handy install them. The "pro" broke one of my sinks. Handy has made no effort to fix the problem other than offering me $175 for a new sink. AND, they want me to sign a release which states if I take the money, I can be fined $5000 for posting a negative review - regardless of the veracity. STAY away. FIND your own handyman.
I can't recommend Handy.com enough, easy to book and pay online and they sent Ibrahim a really polite, professional, hard working handyman who got the job done. Will definitely be booking with them again. Thank you Ibrahim and Handy.com
Awful company... YOU gotta buy everything... NO raises at all... impossible to talk to anyone there. Ever. Give ya 10 hrs a MONTH... u can have a 5 star rating but a prissy so and so can just ruin you... Handy charges customer DOUBLE what they pay me. MY clients have booked me already, because they are TIRED of Handy... so shove Handy after almost a year, I realised nothing to see here!
I booked two Pros and paid for $300($50*3 hour * 2 Pro).
However, one of them didn't come and I requested the company to refund($150).
The company said that they can't refund because the work was completed on their system.
The company is a rip-off, provide customers with terrible service. I will not use again.
Ordered 2 pieces from wayfair. Paid almost $200 for assembly by handy. Guy didn't finish one of the pieces because he said screws were missing. After he left, my son noticed he put the table legs on backwards. Replacement screws arrived and my son picked up where the guy left off and discovered 1/2 of the work he had done was wrong, enough screws were there without new ones. I reported this to Handy and they want to offer free assembly on next order. There won't be a next order. The "pro's" can't follow instructions. Fraudulent firm
I signed up for 6 months of house cleaning. So far they have never made it out here. Twice, they have cancelled one hour in advance. Then they re-schedule for a date without consulting me. I complained and was told if I don't like it, I can pay the cancellation fee of $99. After all, they unhelpfully reminded me, I agreed to these terms when I signed up. Right. Silly me, I assumed they would hold up their end of the bargain and actually clean my house. Nope. I deeply regret getting involved with this sham of a company.
Gave them second shot. Booked moving help far in advance and as notified only days before that they couldn't find people... for the service they'd accepted and charged me for. Taskrabbit is a much better option, where you select people who are actually available at the date and time that you chose. Plus, you get to select exactly who shows up.
I wanted a one time home cleaning. Thought I booked for one day only - agreed on 3.5 hours on a Sunday. Put in credit card info and then all of a sudden, without my consent or knowledge, I was booked into a service for every two weeks. I could not cancel the service. If you cancel, you pay a $99 cancellation fee even though no services were provided.
Total complete scam job.
Really glad I found Handy. I had a difficult project that needed a skilled professional and Gregory was a great match. He did a fantastic job and even with the fear of a mistake ruining my shelves, Handy has a guaranteed promise of compensating damage up to $2500, so that made me feel safe about the choice.

I had very little time to clean my 2 bedroom 2 bathroom apartment and found Handy online, I booked a appointment for premium service at high price, the person that showed up made my money worth, she went above and beyond to complete the task.
Unfortunately when I booked this appointment automatically went to a 2 week plan and received a notification just a day before my credit card was charged, I logged in on their website and could not find a easy way to cancel appointment, went to google and called the number listed, gentleman who answer the phone couldn't speak English well, said yes we can cancel appointment and give you a refund, he never mentioned a charge for cancellation, I called the next day and had the worst experience on the phone. The girl who answered the call hung up after I insisted to give me her name. Very very unpleasant experience… please be aware of the fine print.
Horrible don't get there service said there handy professional canceled twice on me and rescheduled for only days they want and times or cancel on you again it seems beyond mad. Oh and said I'd hear back within 15 min of them waking me up to another cancel notification. They also cancel two hours before your apt
To all new to Handy like me: I booked the service with Ms. Genetha B. She came before time and cleaned the place as required. She went far and beyond: she did a wonderful job beyond description. Such a hard-working person with extreme attention to detail. I used many cleaning services and this one is by far the best ever. The place is shining everywhere and spotless. I highly recommend her to anyone who wants outstanding work and amazing results. I will refer her to all my friends in NYC. Great work, Genetha! Thank you soo much!
I recently ordered a new BBQ grill, and scheduled assembly through Handy. The last grill we got about 5 years ago, took several hours to put together so we definitely didn't to go that route again. Handy.com assigned Jess to assist us. She was on time, no hassle, got our grill together swiftly and did a fantastic job. Will definitely call on Handy and Jess if any other work is needed
Serious professional company. They do what they say. Timely reminders and useful application platform to coordinate tasks and hire for different types of services. Great reasonable discounts for services upon membership. My apartment is prewar, if I could send a photo of the wonderful organic scent of cleanliness, I would.
This company was contracted to clean my home. 2 hours prior to the service time they sent a text message saying they would not arrive (I have included a picture). Then they claimed they rescheduled. They did not. We were out of town. They will not refund my money and they are telling my credit card company the charge is valid, which then does not allow my credit card company to get the money for me. Stuck in limbo. No help. No service. No refund. DO NOT use this company. BTW I have a copy of my AirBNB receipt to prove we were not home the Sunday they claim they cleaned. Horrible situation. Complete fleece job.
Handy is a headache. All communication is done via email. Handy will debit your account the day before your cleaning, and then the contracted cleaners don't show up. Handy has sent some seedy individuals to my home. I am curious if the even vet their pros.
We had a challenging installation of a large diptych in a tall stairwell. Christian was excellent at working with us to achieve the desired placement. It wasn't easy, but he managed to nail it (no pun intended). We never could have done it ourselves. Great job.
I had to buy my daughter a new bed for her college apartment. It was delivered in a box from Wayfair at her old apartment, but then needed to be assembled a few days later in her new apartment. Handy.com was the only way I could get that done without knowing any handymen in Chicago. Everything was great. Andres showed up on time and got the job done perfectly. I was able to schedule, pay, and tip online without being there. Thanks so much!
We used to like Handy as much as there were so many bad reviews. We tried them anyway and we're happy for a time. In the last six months or so, the service has been terrible. Three times the cleaners haven't shown up and we were charged. When you try to get the money back they just give you a credit towards the next service. Sometimes they even Argue with you and I've had one customer service rep cut off the chat in the middle saying they were more important people he had to deal with. It was disgusting really. It's unfortunate that the customer service isn't better. Many of the cleaners are new and not professional cleaners, so be warned if you try this that you are training someone in a lot of cases. Best if you can find somebody reliable on your own unless you have time for a frustrating experience.
Had the misfortune of going to Angie's list to book a handyman. They toss people around between handy.com and Home Advisor. An agent booked the project. Some teenager showed up the next day without tools or even a clue. Been trying to get a refund all day today. Customer service is a joke.
Answer: They don't provide a refund, even when they fail to honor the agreement. In my case, they have twice (so far) canceled my house cleaning with one hour's notice. (If I fail to give 24 hours notice of cancellation, I have to pay a penalty. For them, no notice, no penalty.) They told me they were having trouble finding cleaners in my area. And if the no shows are a problem for me, I can pay the $99 cancellation fee. So how long does this go on? Three cancellations, five, ten? Forever? This is an irresponsible company with horrible customer service.

Im supposed to do a job tomorrow that i have to buy stuff out of my own money and hold my breath for pay back.
