This service is a scam in so many levels. They promise to pay you well but it ends up being pennies on the dollar compared to what they "promise" to pay its pros. Customers lie about Serbia they want done and there is no repercussions or accountability. Steer clear of this fake service.
It's not necessarily the cheapest, but over about 10 years I've found Handy to be a good, reliable service... Mistakes are sometimes made, cleaners don't turn up, but Handy customer service are more responsive and helpful than most and usually reimburse/provide solutions. Some cleaners are better than others, and also some are more flexible in what they will do (oven, windows, fridge) without extra payment, but overall the service is consistently either excellent or good.
I have used handy for last 6 months. Only time they let you know person is coming is 2 hours before, no texting emailing before. For a 600 soft apt their minimum time is 3 hours and most of the time cleaners leave after 1.5-2 hours saying there is not much to clean. They never clean inside of microwave, refrigerator or clean the bathtub sides saying we are not housekeepers. Have complained to handy many times no use. But they won't let you cancel service even if service is bad. Kind of stuck with them. I wish i had never signed up. Now can't get out...
Handy contracted me to take a tree out in fort worth tx, took the tree out, the customer was very pleased he tip us 300 dollars, I've sent 5 invoices bills and they dont pay, I've sent numerous emails and get nothing in return, this was 3 months ago, do not do work for these people,
Do NOT work for this company. There are so many undisclosed charges and just garbage in general (pardon the pun). As hungry as you were when you started this "job", it will take the winds it of your sail QUICK! After just one job it was over for me. I'm still waiting for my pay too.
I had a great Handy experience. My professional, James, arrived promptly and assembled my trundle bed in roughly half the estimated time of my appointment. He was clean and courteous and made the whole process run smoothly. I would definitely work with him and Handy again.
They're happy to take your money in advance even when (I suspect) they have no one to do the work. I bought a bed from Wayfair because they sold it with assembly from Handy. Two hours before my appointment they postponed, now today they've cancelled, leaving me with a bed still packed in a box. Now what? I hold Wayfair every bit as responsible as this dishonest company. I assume it serves them to have your money for a week and that's why they do it. So definitely don't count on Handy to do what they've promised.
My Nest thermometer said I had an issue. It said to schedule through Handy. I did. It was re-scheduled 4 times. Ten days later, still no appointment. I still have an issue, and am waiting for it to quit at any moment. Thing is, if I had called someone, they would have been here within the first 24 hours. Yes, I understand there are busy times. But 10 days and no one is not understandable. I live in Michigan, it is winter so my furnace is kind of important.
My review of trying to become a handypro. I started the application process on 08/09/2019, it's now 09/01/2019 and I'm still waiting. Whenever I email them I get the same email over and over again. Your application is still being reviewed. First it was all you have to do is setup your schedule and start accepting jobs. It's taking a month to do something that was only suppose to take 3-5 business days. I don't even want to deal with this app anymore
I made a purchase through Costco and the Handy service was the installer. They were very accommodating since we had to reschedule twice due to snow storms. The installer, Christopher, was personable, informative, respectful, and polite. He even did the install on Sunday which was great. So far my dishwasher is working perfectly, though I only used it once really since I just had it installed two days ago. Definitely recommend. Ask for Christopher to do the install. He was amazing!
If I could give Handy no stars, I would. We retained them through Wayfair to put together furniture. They "rescheduled" at the last minute, on multiple occasions, and then failed to appear. When we finally said not to come and refund our money, they made us separately contact Wayfair even though they have in our system that they were hired through Wayfair. Very unprofessional and I would recommend against using this company.
The Pro arrived on time. He also identified damaged parts of a bed that happened in shipping that might affect his work. I found him and the company very professional and would recommend both to anyone in need of their services. Very Good Experience for me and my family.
Purchased setup of home furnishings thru Ashley furniture. The experience was great. Our service person stayed in communication until the install date and fulfilled the job with no issues. He was very professional and personable. Highly recommend!
Gonzalo did an excellent job and went above and beyond. Among other things, I had asked him to remove some large staples that were sticking up from my floor that would be dangerous to my future puppy. He then puppy-proofed additional areas and was extra careful. Overall he was professional and efficient and truly skilled at his work. I would definitely hire Gonzalo again!
I booked a 6 hour cleaning for a move out at my folks house. They cancelled 1 hour before the scheduled time. I drove 40 minutes to be there but understood if there was an emergency that might have happened. They automatically rescheduled with my knowledge and you cannot reach them by phone only email. We set another date and they cancelled again one hour before. And yes I drove 40 minutes to be there. Since I was on a strict timeframe I rescheduled for their preferred date which meant I had to take a day off work. If you are wondering if the did such a good job that I forgot the hassle? They cancelled for a third and last time one hour before as if right on cue. Their excuse each time was not enough workers. What? Don't schedule if you cannot cover it. What a horrible company. Cost me time and money.
I was moving out of an apartment and ordered a cleaning. The cleaner left hours early and I later found had damaged an appliance. After emailing back and forth with customer service for several days, I knew I had no time to have Handy actually resolve the issue. I had to take off of work to fix everything myself instead of risk going through with the terrible reimbursement process.
The cleaner spent barely over an hour at my apartment. I spent hours emailing and finally fixing everything myself. Still, Handy offered me nothing in return.
I would never recommend Handy. The service providers that you hire are usually good enough but the problem with Handy is their customer service. They have atrocious handling of their service inquiries and you can never seem to cancel a service even after completing your package purchased. I purchased a 5 pack and they keep renewing my service and then saying they'll charge if I cancel. There is no phone number to call and their email service goes to a new person each time.
This company has no idea about the individuals they are hiring other than a background check. The vetting process needs some addressing. I requested a housekeeper before the Thanks Giving holiday, mainly because Handy was offering a thirty percent discount. Handy charged my credit card and the day before the service was to be completed I received an email stating they could not find someone to accept the job. Handy rescheduled my cleaning a week later. I really didn't need the cleaning then however my card had been charged so I rolled with it. This housekeeper shows up with little to no cleaning products in a black purse and, dressed like she was headed to the beach. OMG! She had no idea how to clean and left my place worse than what it was. Buyer beware!
Our service tech was right on time, very pleasant. He estimated his completion time and finished 10 minutes early. He showed us how to use the lighting and made some suggestions for organizing the wiring. The entire experience with Sergio was perfect. Worth every penny.
Horrible. Job was assigned to an inactive person who didn't even know they were supposed to be here. They didn't come. No one came. I was charged and didn't hear back from the company as of 7 hours after it hapened
Answer: They don't provide a refund, even when they fail to honor the agreement. In my case, they have twice (so far) canceled my house cleaning with one hour's notice. (If I fail to give 24 hours notice of cancellation, I have to pay a penalty. For them, no notice, no penalty.) They told me they were having trouble finding cleaners in my area. And if the no shows are a problem for me, I can pay the $99 cancellation fee. So how long does this go on? Three cancellations, five, ten? Forever? This is an irresponsible company with horrible customer service.
Answer: Im having problems getting paid. I told client to have cash on hand as I wont do the job. Good luck finding someone else with my skill set. Im supposed to do a job tomorrow that i have to buy stuff out of my own money and hold my breath for pay back. Ill stand on a corner begging for money before I do another job for them unless they pay me for past jobs and I talk to someone on the phone.
Answer: Again, these should not be appearing in the automatic feed for FAQ's? Who is doing QA around here?
Answer: Probably should not list someone's personal telephone number in the FAQ feed. What do you guys think?
Answer: Wayfair is also a scam. It's just a matter of time. They are a middle man to hundreds of businesses. They sell products regardless of whether or not the product is available or in inventory. Eventually people will catch on...
