Used with with waifair. The man came 30 minutes earlier than the start time I was pre assigned a time. The man came into my building and sat for an hour. They wanted to mail a check, but i said no it had to come through waifair. Waifair took care of it, so I dont need to stop using them. Handi just makess up the time they come. They do not schedule and their app does not work for ios. Thought I would try it, but since they do everything electronically not possible. Will not be using handi again. Stick with people I know. Just creepy comeing 30 minutes early and bothering apartment staff.
This cleaning service has been more of a hassle than a convenience. My first appointment was canceled at the last minute by them because the person scheduled to clean needed to reschedule. The next person did a good job but took 2 hours to clean a small bathroom so you have to micromanage the person cleaning. Another appointment was canceled at the last minute after prepping for them and taking time out of my schedule for them to be there. I was promised a full refund for my inconvenience that I never received. The person before the last person scheduled to come said absolutely not to putting on shoe covers or taking her shoes off to clean the house in which you would think she would have known better. Very unprofessional and then it's difficult to speak to someone to remedy the situation and when you finally do they make promises they don't keep. I'm canceling as soon as the contract is over to avoid cancellation fees. I do NOT recommend HANDY because it's not so HANDY after all!
If there was a zero, I would have given it. They link ur credit card and then cancel on you cleanings and reschedule. Then they have already charged u in advance. When it's cancelled they change the money to credits on your account and sometimes they give you credits on your account when they cancel a cleaning to make it up. But then when you ask them to refund the money back to your credit card, cause they have cancelled so many times so it's in feasible, they just eat up the credits. And play dumb when you try to explain that they messed up the calculations and before you know it, you have been scammed.
I ordered an armoire from Wayfair... Handy was to assemble it... appt 8 am Saturday... cleared all other obligations... was sure the room was ready. While I was sleeping they had an "emergency" and cancelled it at 5:30 while I was sleeping... rescheduled it for Monday... again "emergency" cancelled it three hours before... rescheduled for Tuesday at 8 am... another (surprise)" emergency". Cancelled at 5 am... never ever use this company
This is just another scam operation!
They dont tell you that when you sign up for a trial that you are acually signing up for a long term service - maybe its in the small print! I just wanted to try the service (it was horrible) and I didnt want to reschedule - i received an email scheduling the second service and i tried to cancel it - they told me that i had to keep scheduling and using their service - i said i didnt want it and asked to be removed they then charged me $100 to cancel - that is ridiculous!
Do not Sign up!
Also, there is no way to contact them directly, i have to go through a 3rd party site - they do that so they hope no one will write the reviews - horrible!
I bought a firepplace mantel from Wayfair and checked the box for professional installation. Hnady got the job. They scheduled and cancelled 3 times in the same week. They finally told me they could not find a professional in my area to do the job. Don't know why Wayfair uses these folks and why they accept a job and they cancel and tell you they can't find anyone. I would advise anyone not to use these folks since they do not stand behind what they say!
They canceled my first service schedule at last minute that I couldn't find a cleaner to clean my business location, yet still keeps charging my card for no service, they don't even have a phone number to call! If they don't even have a person to pickup a phone call, how can you deal with them if something goes wrong?
A month ago I used Handy for the first time. I have used other services such as TaskRabbit before. Handy is by far the worst of the bunch. I had so many issues with their service:
1) Couldnt login to handy.com on the day of the appointment
2) Handy pro arrived on time, but 3 hours later he only had finished opening the 5 boxes (at once) and spreading all of the pieces of furniture on my dining and living room floors
3) After 3 hours the handy pro just gave up and left. All the parts were left spread on dining and living rooms
4) Of the 3 hours, the "Pro" spent at least half an hour on his phone.
5) The Handy pro scratched my TV screen with a piece of glass
6) Contacted Handy to complain about the "Pro" and the damaged TV. Handy asked me to fill up an electronic form with details. Four days after form was filled (including pictures of the almost 3 inches scare on TV screen) and sent I still did not get any response from Handy.
To be fair they offered a new appointment for free, but at this point I just decided to assemble the furniture myself, but nothing about the TV damage or the inconvenience (to say the least).
The worst part was to figure out what part was for what furniture since all 5 boxes had been opened and pieces were spread on the floors.
As for the complaint I filed 3 weeks ago, their strategy is to drag it forever hoping I will give up.
I was so looking forward to having service. Waited 15 min for cleaning person, then emailed, they said a response would happened within 15 min... waited over 45 with the response they are out of area, to which I was home waiting... and STILL CHARGED 100
With NO Cleaning... I can't believe what a scam! Don't fall for advertising of HAMDY
The first red flag for handy is not providing an upfront customer service phone number. Any business establishment offering housekeeping or handyman services should provide a phone number in case of any issue that might arise that requires an immediate response.
Handy is extremely unreliable. They cancel an hour before your scheduled bookings then reschedule you without your knowledge, or confirmation.
I am disabled and I require assistance with housekeeping, today my booking was rescheduled without my knowledge, consent, or confirmation an hour before the "professional" was scheduled to arrive, this booking was made over a month ago.
When I demanded a refund, they deflected by offering me a measly 10 dollar credit to appease my "frustrations".
No you simple idiots, I require assistance with housekeeping, it's more than frustrating.
Like I said, HUGE RED FLAG is the lack of a proper phone number and live customer service.
Don't make the same mistakes everyone else here has made, LISTEN to these reviews, they're all 100% true.
Showed up in a reasonable amount of time. Stayed focused on job and cleaned up at the end. Ensured we were happy and pointed out some functionality of our assembled furniture.
John N. Showed up on time, as scheduled and was very personable professional and efficient. Removed old TV and installed new one without any glitches.
I have never in my life been so disgusted with a company. Please stay away. After being ROBBED by our maid, they took weeks to come to any conclusion and after having over $1000 worth of things taken, they are only willing to reimburse $135.
Under NO CIRCUMSTANCE is this company worth doing business with. Consider the possibility that something may go wrong, and if it does, they will offer you little to no recourse.
I genuinely hope that this company is taken to court for all of the people they have taken advantage of and their lack of consumer accountability. I will go out of my way to explain to ANYONE who is considering using them to not only avoid them, but advise others to avoid them as well.
I am out several hundred dollars because they did not properly vet their employee's and allowed a thief into my home. Then, to compound their mistake, they are reimbursing less than a 1/10th of what was STOLEN from me.
We live in Celebration where most folks want to settle in, not far from Disney or Universal. Both my husband and I feel that this guy is one whom most will seek but seldom find in today's fast pace. He was quick, conscientious and precise about our wall hangings. We will think of him while entertaining our guests as they will compliment our home. We will DEFINITELY RECOMMEND THIS SERVICE. Sterling and straight forward. Thank you.
I ordered a kitchen faucet from Wayfair and also ordered their installation service (Handy.com). The person who came to install the faucet obviously did not know what he was doing. I rescheduled with another installer who refused to complete the work because the first installer damaged the new faucet. Wayfair refunded the cost of the faucet immediately, but told me I had to work with Handy.com for the service charge. My claim for a refund was approved. I've been waiting for 7 weeks for the refund to arrive. I've been told various stories from the support reps at various times about when the check will arrive. Now after 7 weeks I was told the claim was approved, but no one approved issuing a check. The support rep said she will approve it for payment and even though it is being mailed from the US to a US address, it will take 5-7 weeks to receive it. I'm quite sure if I had not followed up on this, I would never have received the refund. Handy may be good at some kinds of services, but I would never use them again for plumbing or any other trade-based installation that requires more skill than using a screw driver to assemble furniture.
So, the issue was that handy had a 10 year old number in my profile and this is what the contractor was trying to use to call and text me. I didn't even know that I had a handy profile until I downloaded the app. Since it was created so long ago. My suggestion to them is to check with the customer that the profile phone number is correct before giving it out to the contractor to avoid this situation. They refunded my $60 and wanted to reschedule but I had already contacted someone else who did a nice job hanging my mirror.
Scheduled for Friday. Rescheduled for Monday. Nobody showed up. When I emailed I was told that the person was texting and calling me. I showed them my phone and message logs from my phone. Nothing there. Not sure if someone is lying or using the wrong phone number. They haven't responded so I assume lying. So, then the next day the story from handy changed to he contacted you via the app. Again, not true. Hey, if they want to take my $60 and pay someone for not showing up, that's a business model that is unsustainable and so good luck to them.
Handy gave me an the option to hide my TV cords, but I was not expecting plastic cord management strips that stick to the wall. I am requesting a return label and a refund for the unused product.
Today, Handy sent Marsena E. As the pro to clean my house. She was very meticulous about her work and did it with a pleasant attitude. I highly recommend her!
Just stay away people. Average services and their customer service communication is the worst I have come across. How did they even manage a 1.04/5 rating? Not even THAT good!
Don't use this service, its a scam. They pulled no shows on three occasions and am now experiencing the fight to get refunded. Have had to call in multiple times and keep getting different info
Answer: They don't provide a refund, even when they fail to honor the agreement. In my case, they have twice (so far) canceled my house cleaning with one hour's notice. (If I fail to give 24 hours notice of cancellation, I have to pay a penalty. For them, no notice, no penalty.) They told me they were having trouble finding cleaners in my area. And if the no shows are a problem for me, I can pay the $99 cancellation fee. So how long does this go on? Three cancellations, five, ten? Forever? This is an irresponsible company with horrible customer service.
Answer: Im having problems getting paid. I told client to have cash on hand as I wont do the job. Good luck finding someone else with my skill set. Im supposed to do a job tomorrow that i have to buy stuff out of my own money and hold my breath for pay back. Ill stand on a corner begging for money before I do another job for them unless they pay me for past jobs and I talk to someone on the phone.
Answer: Again, these should not be appearing in the automatic feed for FAQ's? Who is doing QA around here?
Answer: Probably should not list someone's personal telephone number in the FAQ feed. What do you guys think?
Answer: Wayfair is also a scam. It's just a matter of time. They are a middle man to hundreds of businesses. They sell products regardless of whether or not the product is available or in inventory. Eventually people will catch on...
