Very nice car and good service. Like it seems with all rental cars, it took about 30 minutes to get checked in and in the car. But great after that.
Overall a good experience in renting a car with Green Motion at Manchester Airport. The price was very good compared with the major car hire companies. The car check out and in was carried out very well. The site is a bit of a distance from the airport, and the site itself is basic but given the price it was acceptable. The car was a hybrid and very good.

The only reason this is 4 instead of 5 star is: (1) location off airport was difficult to get to without recommendation from the company. It seemed the airport bus was the way rt go, but it comes only once an hour (and the bus drivers were not helpful or friendly). We got the the buss stop with 50 minutes until the next one was due. Use uber or a taxi to get there. We did use uber to get to the airport when we returned the car -- at the suggestion of the Green Motion staff -- and it was much easier; (2) the car was not ready when we got there. It needed to be cleaned. But it was not really cleaned inside or out -- more like a lick and a promise. This is not necessarily the staff's fault as it was high season and there are car shortages. Still... it was irritating to have a slightly dirty car (on the inside)

The staff and process at Green Motion were great, things i will be aware of next time though is to do more research on the car, the model i booked was much smaler than it looked in the photograph and it was not a model i am familiar with. Also i booked the insurance through the booking site, there was no mention there that this was not associated with Green Motion and that it would be simpler for me to could get the insurance directly through Green Motion when i picked up the car. I would also say that the Hotel Hopper service they tell you to use to get from Heathrow to their location is AWFUL, they are slow, irregular, we waited almost 2hrs for one to show up. Ignore this bus and book an Uber, the journey is only about 5 minutes.

Apart from two small points of improvement, everything else was very good. The shuttle to and from the pick up point runs every half hour. The pick up/return personnel was efficient and nice. The car above expectations and clean. Contract conditions clearly stated and respected.
To improve: they do not answer to the telephone number they report on the voucher (that replied to an email inquiry after a couple of days) and they do not tell you that you do not have to pay for the shuttle transfer.

Answer: I have used them many times, always cheapest, always very new cars, always charming and helpful staff ( Stansted Airport). Every firm will try to get you to upgrade. Buy a 3rd party policy, and just say you have your own cover. Up to now I have never been scammed. I ALWAYS inspect the vehicle before. I drive off. I take photos and make sure I get it inspected and signed off by staff when I take it back.
Answer: Speeding/parking tickets and police action are slow. They keep the deposit until they are sure there will be no problems with any of those costs. (and yeah, would be speeding fine + massive green motion fee).

I can confirm that security deposits are automatically released by Green Motion on the last day of your rental after it has been established that the rental vehicle has been returned in the same condition as it was provided, and there are no further outstanding charges. Whilst in most cases this is available again within 10 working days, unfortunately, this can take up to 30 days depending on the bank that you use. We suggest that you contact your bank as they may be able to speed this process up for you. Green Motion's policy is to use pre-authorised transactions for our security deposits, which ring-fence the amount within your account, not charge it. This pre-authorised transaction will allow us to make charges if necessary at the end of the rental, but unless this occurs no money will leave your account. Due to the nature of this transaction, the release of these funds may not show on your bank statement as a separate transaction. If you believe that you have been charged your security deposit, please contact your bank and ask them to provide proof of the transaction as a charge on the first day of your rental so that we can look further into this for you. Answer: I believe Green Motion are a perfectly fair and respectful company. I suspect you didn't read their Ts&Cs properly. The two customers being served while I was collecting my car had also not read/understood the conditions and were caught by surprise. The representative dealt with them firmly but fairly.
