I can confirm that security deposits are automatically released by Green Motion on the last day of your rental after it has been established that the rental vehicle has been returned in the same condition as it was provided, and there are no further outstanding charges.
Please visit https://greenmotion.com/terms and select the country you rented from to see the deposit information which will advise the general timeframe that you can expect for the release of the deposit.
Whilst in most cases this is available again within 10 working days, unfortunately, this can take up to 30 days depending on the bank that you use. We suggest that you contact your bank as they may be able to speed this process up for you.
Green Motion's policy is to use pre-authorised transactions for our security deposits, which ring-fence the amount within your account, not charge it. This pre-authorised transaction will allow us to make charges if necessary at the end of the rental, but unless this occurs no money will leave your account. Due to the nature of this transaction, the release of these funds may not show on your bank statement as a separate transaction. If you believe that you have been charged your security deposit, please contact your bank and ask them to provide proof of the transaction as a charge on the first day of your rental so that we can look further into this for you.

Nakon mnogo "jednostavnih" rezervacija, na green motion sam naišla slučajno, te nazvala u nadi da primaju debitne kartice za depozit. To nažalost nije moguće (travanj 2024.) ali me je zaposlenik izvijestio kako nema potrebe za depozitom ukoliko se bukira premium plus opcija. Isplati se dati nešto novca više, za nešto više sigurnosti i fleksibilnosti. Auto još uvijek nisam pokupila, ali vjerujem da će sve biti super 😉

Kiralamamla ilgili öncesi ve sonrasından çok memnun kaldım. Kiralama esnasında küçük bir problem yaşadım, aracın sağ ön çamurluğunu sürttüm. Teslim sırasında bunu tutanağa geçirdik ve imzalamadım. Zaten tarafıma yansıtılacak her türlü tutara kabuldüm. Ancak hasarla ilgili tutar kartımdan çekilmeden önce en azından tarafıma telefonla bir bilgi verilmesini beklerdim. Bilgi verilince pasta cila ile geçecek sürtmeye 3500 TL yansıtılmasına itiraz edeceğim zannedildi sanırım. Bu şekilde dayatma yapılması yakışmadı. Bu nedenle tekrar tercih etmeyeceğim ve tavsiyede bulunmayacağım.

Answer: DON'T do it. They advertise low and sting you at the counter! Clerks hard sell additional insurance (they get a commission). In Glasgow, Scotland this last August, they tried to get me to pay $800 in insurance to cover a ten day rental that was about $35 a day! Many people have posted about scams where they charged unsuspecting customers for "damages" that were already on the car but the customer may not notice, like a tiny chip in the windshield or a small scratch on the door edge.
Answer: Speeding/parking tickets and police action are slow. They keep the deposit until they are sure there will be no problems with any of those costs. (and yeah, would be speeding fine + massive green motion fee).

Answer: I believe Green Motion are a perfectly fair and respectful company. I suspect you didn't read their Ts&Cs properly. The two customers being served while I was collecting my car had also not read/understood the conditions and were caught by surprise. The representative dealt with them firmly but fairly.
