When I purchased my Green Dot card last year it said no fees I loaded it today November the 11th 2023 they took the whole $20 saying I owe $7.95 month on fees on the app and online you can't see your transaction history so I couldn't see the fees or the transaction balance or anything so I called it said I have $4.10 left on the card tried to make a $1.99 purchase it was declined could make a purchase when I finally found the number to get through that's when the lady told me about the fees and said I can use the $4.10 but it's not allowing me to I'm not going to pay unnecessary fee so I'm done with Green Dot.
I bought the card to receive money that was sent to me but after depositing twenty dollars and them charging me 9.99 service fee I cannot get the money unless I have a REAL CARD, not the one bought. Destroying the card soon as transaction is completed.
I closed my account on September 14,2021 and I have yet to get a refund check for the remaining balance in my account. I have called and called and called and called again and still no results. I have filed complaints with the Federal Reserve Bank and the Consumer Financial Corp and still no check.
Tried to purchase 3 games online with greendot card never went thru wasted my time calling 5 tie to coster service even got a case code but after the 5 time i never called back to hell with them i will get my games somme other way greendot sucks so does the owner and it's emploees
This is the worst prepaid card ever! I put 60 on it and got $15 in fees! Could not find free ATM! It said 7-11 but got changed 6.50 fees! No nobody answered my customer service chat! Garbage!
This is my last ever attempt at prepaid cards. There's no way to speak to customer support about issues. The monthly fee of $9 was not expected as I read there were none. I also cannot access my account using the app. I know I am entering the information correctly, and password reset isnt even going to my email. I will just not bother activating the registsred card they sent in the mail. I doubt there would be cashback credit given for my purchases--i would rather keep using my bank account and PayPal. Thanks for wasting my money and time greendot.
These people are a nightmare. Reported fraud and they don't care all the while I can't get my Mom's money out because of the person who I reported added another card using my Mother's info and changed all info. My mom has Alzheimer's and these people are asking to speak with her when she can no longer speak... TOTAL INCOMPETENCE! I've been told so many stories including supposedly escalating my claim to the corporate level and would get a call within 48 hours... it's now a week later! Today's call, suggested they would put my incapacitated mother on a relay call to authorize... again PURE INCOMPETENCE!
Dont use greendot! They locked my account and its 10 days and counting Ive sent proofs tthey asked for and still its locked having to go to police and file report. Also my stimulus was returned bc of lock.
I bought a card by mistake because I thought I could use it without registering.
I tried to use it and it didn't work, so I called customer support and they told me to register and asked me for my SSC.
I asked if I could get a refund they told me I could and I would just have to send an email to their email address and should get a response the next day or two.
I have already send out 3 E-Mails and its been a whole month and I have called their support about 5 times and have not received my refund or any response.
Bad Customer Support, Bad Company! In my opinion a legal Scam!
My greendot card has my gym dues automatically deducted each month. As of 2 days ago my card got declined when it was time for the membership dues to be paid. For the past 2 days I've called and attempted to "chat with an agent" but was unsuccessful. Each time I called customer service; the hold time averaged 45mins with the last time being the longest(1hr47mins). I've never experienced any issues with using the card until now and I saw it as a secure way to protect against theft/fraud but the poor customer service has completely turned me off. I will no longer be using their services and I advise anyone else to take heed to this warning and beware!
GreenDot will not transfer funds to another card, they will send a refund check and it's the holidays. The refund check will take 14 days to receive and Christmas is in 8 days. For best prepaid card service use NETSPEND. They will take pride in helping correct what's wrong and transferring your money to another card.
Worst mistake I ever made was joining greendot. There are way too many fees to access your own money. If I could give them zero or negative stats I would. The customer service is absolutely horrible. When you ask a question they do not answer it they just read some script written answer that has nothing to do with the issue that you called about. Also I was in a locked medical facility with no access to my card, my phone or any type of electronics and my card was charged. I filed a dispute and they said it would be resolved in 10 days. After 15 days I called back and they gave me the run around about it and told me now it can take up to 45 days. After waiting a month And a half they denied the claim as they determined I authorized the purchase. Again I was locked up. I offered proof and they said it was not needed. They are a bunch of thieves who I will be filling a suit in small claims court against. DO NOT EVER TRUST YOUR MONEY WITH THESE THIEVES
I transferred money from cash app that was instantly transferred over. Never showed up in my green dot account. I spoke with 3 different CSR's and was told 3 different things. None of which got me the money back. One of the csr's initiated a reversal of funds (which they claim were rejected) which wasn't authorized by me to move forward with because I didn't wanna wait 10 days to get my money back that should've been instantly deposited. I was hung up on by a supervisor and I still haven't gotten my money back. DO NOT BANK WITH GREEN DOT!
I went to 7 /11 I though a 100 card would be 2 dollars. Of course the clerk can hardly speak english. Short version some 27 dollars just to spend my own money.

I wanted to charge something for $11 dollars while traveling. I purchased a green dot for $20 and immediately charged the item totaling $17 with tax which was rejected again and again. I finally contacted green dot to be told I was charged a monthly fee of $8 upfront! What! They refunded it on a onetime basis - however the monthly charge of 7.95 comes out on the 27th of each month #becareful #reviewalways
We had our card hacked and found out about it within hours of it happening. In an attempt to stop the thief and shut the card down we called green dot. After a cumlitate 6 hour hold time over a couple of days we are yet to be answered at all by anyone who can help us. We quite literally watched another attempt at a fraudulant charge on our card while on hold with Green dot. If you want any protection and security with your money this is not the company for you. If you want customer service and someone to help in times of trouble this is not the company for you. The gross negligance is disgusting. Shame on you Green Dot.
I have green dot they steal money from your account they did it 3 times I caught it.also if you are getting a refund you won't get it back they take it and you can have a receipt and everything then they want you to write them a letter get it notarized and everything they wont give me my refund from IHOP I have the canceled receipt ihop said they refunded it on there end. They are thieves they took 64 from me I had to call in and ask where is my money there excuse oh sorry something is wrong with the system if i didn't notice it was gone and didn't call in they would have kept it..
Green Dot Bank refuses to pay my cash back rewards. They have a scam where they will close your account before you can receive your cash back rewards. Green Dot will blame you for their mistake and not pay you the money you earned up until they close your account. Green Dot charges fees for ATM machines that they say are free, then Green Dot charges your card for the ATM fee.
Today, is Wednesday, January 24,2024. I ordered a pair of sneakers on Sunday, January 13th and cancelled it on Monday, January 14th. Amazon released the monies on that same day, the 14th, but now, 11days later, i have still not received the credit refund to my green dot account. I have called multiple times and they conveniently DO NOT show a record of my complaint. I called this morning and the representative a green dot, referred me back to AMAZON. Amazon, sent me an email, confirming that they released the funds back to Green dot on January 14th. WTF. I want my money back and they are not willing to give me my funds. DO NOT BUY THIS CARD.
