This was one of the most horrible experience I had and they kept telling me that I had to do this and do that and I did everything they told me and then they email me back and tell me that it is a security issue. Really
I purchased tickets from Groupon for a May 12th Mothers Day Concert at Barclays Center which listed the sections and rows. However, when I looked in my groupons, it said the tickets were "will call" by Goldstar. Now that's some bait and switch bullcrap. After reading the reviews here, it looks like I'll never be receiving any tickets. If that happens, all of you unhappy people are more than welcome to join me in a class action law suit. If everything works out fine, I'll let you know that too.
I just bought some dinner theater tickets from Goldstar (this is the first time I've used this site) and after I paid and printed out the confirmation I noticed the tickets were for the wrong date. I contacted Goldstar through email, since they don't have a telephone contact number. I was very concerned and skeptical that I wouldn't hear back and would have a hassle stopping the charge on my credit card. To my amazement I had an email reply from Goldstar's customer service within minutes. My credit card charge was canceled and my new reservations with the correct date was made. This was the fastest and easiest customer service I've ever received. I will certainly use Goldstar in the future and recommend this site to friends.

After my friend was given 2 links to an event & I was given 1 link to same event, with none of the 3 working, I wrote to Goldstar and was sent a new link from a customer service agent who wrote the link I had been given had worked for her. I was able to view the event with the 4th link sent, and my friend was refunded the price she paid for the ticket she bought as a gift for me. I won't upgrade my rating for this company, as it shouldn't take paying twice and my friend and I both writing to the company about links that don't work to finally get a link that did work.
My friend gifted a ticket to me for a holiday show & forwarded the info to me. As there is a place on Goldstar's site while purchasing a ticket for gift, I'm going to assume she indicated that. It didn't work. She contacted them & they gave her 'new' info that was supposed to work. Again the link didn't work (went nowhere), & the url they give in case the link doesn't work, sends one to an oops page, nothing here. I didn't want may friend to spend more time trying to fix this so I bought a ticket myself. Same thing happened. They are a fraud & I'm reporting them to my credit card company & the appropriate federal agency.
I had purchased 2 $53 tickets for Phantom of the opera and was seated row 20 and in the middle of the row. I then purchased 2 $113 tickets and was seated in row 19 off to the very right.
I asked for better seats, as the price didn't warrents a steep price, as they are very poor seats. They refused and barely apologized for the dislike of my seats. There is nothing they are willing to do. This place is a scam and rip you off! Avoid like the plague!
One of the best "finds" here in NYC. I found this site by accident and felt the prices and comps were too good to be true. So I tried one comp ticket and sure enough - it was free but there was a $9 service fee... no problem. Great show! Hmmm... let's try it again. So I tried it again and ordered a comp ticket to The Imbible... it was free with a $12.75 service fee. OK - went and there were 3 drinks included. Seriously in NYC - where can you get three drinks for $12.75?! Plus the show was awesome. Now I am going to be buying some tickets and across the board - this site is better than TKTS or Groupon. No ifs ands or buts... I LOVE THIS SITE. Thank you!

This site if for venues and events NOT attendees. Do NOT purchase blind seats through this site. You will overpay for lousy seats. Instead identify what shows and venues are offering discounts then purchase assigned seats through other websites.
Hi Joseph! It sounds as though you had a disappointing experience with the seats you were given at an event. When you purchase tickets through our site, the actual seat assignments are made by the ticket supplier. You are always guaranteed to be seated in the section that you purchase, and any tickets purchased in a single transaction will be seated together. If you were seated outside of the allotted section, I do hope you contacted us at help@goldstar.com to let us know about it. We are always happy to follow up with the ticket supplier if a member feels they were seated incorrectly. I can say that it is rare that our members are given seats outside of the purchased section, and most of our ticket suppliers are good about giving our members the best available seats. HORRIBLE customer service. I wish I could give them 0 stars. I Ordered tickets for a show that was suppose to take place on March 21st. The show was cancelled due to the COVID-12 epidemic. It has been over 3 weeks now and I have not received a refund. I have sent many emails asking for a refund which they have not responded to. I purchased the tickets using PayPal so I filed a dispute for a refund through PayPal. A day after I filed the dispute they had messaged PayPal. I have been waiting for an email and my refund for over 3 weeks but in less than 24 hours of me filing a dispute they were able to send messaged to PayPal?! Instead of just refunding my money they are fighting me through PayPal on reasons why they won't issue a refund
I've used Goldstar for years, I particularly love the visibility it gives me on events I wouldn't know about otherwise. The website is really easy to use and ordering tickets is fast, straightforward and a great user interface. I had to use their customer service for the first time earlier this week, at first I was put off that I couldn't call them but I shouldn't have been; I got a response and resolution (I had ordered tickets for the wrong day by accident, they canceled the first order and issued new tickets for the right day) within 15 minutes. I was blown away and very impressed. Apparently not having a call center makes them super efficient in their customer service.

I purchased tickets and it stated seating begins at 8pm, me and my guest arrived at 7:35p. The host looked at the receipt and stated he didn't know why it said 8pm and that they have been dealing with goldstar for a while. They were putting the food cart away so me and my guest missed dinner. I looked at the receipt in it's entirety, it stated that doors open at 6pm and will call opens. It did not state the the doors open at 6pm for dinner and the show follows after dinner. I am not blame any one, I just think they should word it better.
I hate Goldstar, I was in the middle of making a purchase, the clock turned to 4PM and my order got canceled!.
When I tried re ordering the tickets no more shows were available anymore!
I guess 4pm was the UN ADVERTISED cut off hour, so rude to log me out of the order while filling in the credit card numbers! And I was no where near the 10 min limit to fill in an order.

Hi Lior, I'm sorry you weren't able to get those tickets you wanted. Every event listed on our site has an expiration date/time. This information is displayed on the checkout page for each event. Orders have to be completed by that time because once an event expires, our will-call list is automatically sent to the ticket supplier for ticketing. I booked these tickets over a month ago for a friend's Bday. The show time changed a month ago and they did not tell me. In return, they gave me a refund! Ruined plans and a special 50th BDay and NOTHING! WILL NEVER BUY. According to Geffin theater, GOLDSTAR does this all the time.
I bought tickets to Shen Yun in San Diego, California I selected Saturday March 26th 2016 at 7:30 pm as the time I wished to purchase tickets. When I received the tickets they were for Sunday March 27th, 2016 at 1:30 pm. I am unable to go to the event on Sunday I am scheduled to work that day. My roommate was behind me and is a witness I selected Saturday date. I have sent numerous emails asking Goldstar to contact me about this. I have not received a phone call and only one email stating they cannot fix this problem. Have been a member of Goldstar for a few months now and I can't say enough about the organization. Have managed to get good seats for the productions that we have requested tickets for. These are not just "oh, nobody wants these anyway" seats. They are seats in great spots in the theatres. If you like to go out and see plays and attend events but don't want to spend the big bucks this is the group to belong to! You can order ahead of time; they tickets are on reserve and you get really great prices. You can actually plan your trip a few weeks ahead of time -- unlike some of the places where it is day-of-performance in order to get any kind of deal. There are always many dates and times to choose from. It is up to you. And they people you deal with are super to work with. I messed up an order by splitting it into two orders... and those wonderful customer service folks found both orders and we were even able to get seats for all 4 of us together. You simply have to check this out! There is nothing better for event tickets than Goldstar

I have been using Goldstar for at least 5 years and other family and friends have used it for much longer. I have had excellent service and seats. When purchasing tickets on Goldstar or any ticketing site, you need to read carefully and make sure you hit the right buttons at check out. I feel they are very upfront about what shows can and cannot be cancelled and what that time line is. I often buy "comp" tickets to shows and it clearly states before you purchase exactly how much the fees are it also states what fees are for tickets to the show in other price ranges. Because I have had such good luck with Goldstar for all these years, I finally bought the Red Velvet package this year and I get free tickets to all kinds of shows, and I mean literally FREE, the price at check out is $0! I bought to a comedy club and then was able to add friends to my party later. We didn't do it the proper way on Goldstar because I didn't send the link, but I was able to email Goldstar the night before the show and they added a dinner package and sat us all together as I had requested. To me that is excellent customer service and that is what pushed me closer to buying their VIP experience. I don't understand the negative reviews on this site, most sound like people who do not fully read before they make a purchase. Personally I have never had a problem and I don't know anyone who has. If you are unsure due to these negative reviews, give them a shot buy getting cheap tickets and see for yourself how great they are.
I almost purchased tickets 3 days ago with this site, and decided to do some research, they have sent me reminder emails day and night for three days straight to buy their tickets, if they weren't a scam, they wouldn't be trying SO HARD to get me to buy tickets. I will NOT be using this site, word to the wise, ALWAYS check up on reviews before you buy, i learned this on cyber monday. And the non stop emails are pretty obvious. Also, check the 5 star rated reviews, if they are always short and indirect, then 99% of the time, someone who runs the scam wrote it.
This site is basically useless now since covid. There were no refunds after all shows were cancelled and only a site credit given. There is ABSOLUTELY nothing on there worth purchasing and now we're stuck with a $160 credit for virtual entertainment.
Gold star SUCKS! They don't offer exchanges if you accidentally purchase wrong date or event. They just want your money, absolutely offer no help.
The Goldstar website glitched. It made me run my purchase multiple times before finally accepting it and displaying my ticket. A few days later, my credit card company emailed me about a potentially fraudulent charge -- it was Goldstar charging me three times for the same ticket.
Okay, I thought -- I'll just call them and get this fixed. Nope! There's not customer service hotline. Your only option is to EMAIL them (ignore the other options on their sad web page -- those just redirect you back to email). So I dutifully emailed them. It's now two days later, and they are supposedly looking into this with their credit card processor.
Not wanting to get stuck with these extra charges since the event is tonight, I called my credit card company to dispute the two extra charges. Thankfully I've had this account for 15 years and never had an issue, so they were great about taking care of this for me.
An acquaintance who bought a ticket for the same show got EIGHTEEN confirmation emails and tickets, so they probably charged her 18 times -- I can't even imagine. I will never buy tickets from this company again, even if it means spending more on an event. Saving a few bucks isn't worth this much hassle.
