Apparently Glyde has faulty fraud detection software and has now flagged my account. I find it almost funny as my credit score is 830! It is so ridiculous that you cannot talk with a person, almost as bad as ebay! No real customer service!
Well, I ordered an xbox 360 game from this site. The very next day I got an email stating that the postal service recieved word that the game was going to be shipped and it should arrive in 10 days. It is now 10 dayIs later and that status has not changed. I wish I had read these reviews beforehand. However, from what I have noticed from everyone's reviews, books seem to ship fine, video games you're going to get screwed on. I hope someone shuts this scammer friendly site down soon.
Glyde, by far was the worst experience I've had with any e-commerce transaction. I sold two iPhones to have my account frozen. I question why by email three times! And yet not response or updates to why. I will never use this company again.
Tried to sell my iphone5s, they had a buyer, I shipped it out several weeks ago and still have not received payment for it. I've sent several email with no response to customer service. Next time I will use USell. Used it in the past, no problems. Tried this new company out, because they offered me a price. Very dissatisfied. Never again.
Loved having a reputable agent handle the notification/exposure/receipt/transfer process. Helpful to know what price point could expedite the sale. Disappointed not to receive proceeds beyond the "sale price" despite what others indicated. Some sellers mentioned receiving funds in excess of the sale price due to good condition of sold merch. My items were literally unused, straight out of the box -- and I received no additional funds. Without quesitons, each buyer received an exceptional product at an exceptional price.
I was pleasantly surprised at how quickly my item sold and for a respectable price to boot@! The sale went effortlessly and I had my funding in a short time frame. I would highly recommend this service!
I tried purchasing an IPad Mini 2 and suddenly my account was blocked after my credit card was charged with no explanation. I have been a customer for 4 years with 87 completed purchases. I am outraged!
Horrible experience. There is absolutely no customer support with Glyde. It was impossible to contact them via any other method than email, and they didn't even respond to that. Tried to buy a phone through them and after a week finally just cancelled the transaction because I couldn't get any information out of the company. Just go somewhere else and save yourself the hassle of trying to deal w/t company.
H Bill. This is Brian from Glyde's customer service team. I am so sorry to hear about the cancellation and slow response via email. We can almost always reply to you via email within 48 hours. We will look into this and make sure it does not happen again. If you can reply here with your Order Number, I can look into the details and get back to you right away via email. Thanks.
Like so many other websites out there that promise the moon and give you dust or down the line you are suddenly plagued with unathorized charges on your credit card I was leary of this one site. The term "too good to be true" rang out but they actually came through with the product as advertised and when one of the items was missing they quickly responded to my email and in turn contacted the seller. The seller immediately sent out the missing part and all is well. Unless I start getting odd charges on my cc I think that I will come to this site before I go to ebay or amazon. Good Job Glyde!
Seller beware. Glyde operates like eBay. They list your product and when there is a winning bid, they send you a mailer to ship directly to the buyer. However, the buyer can return the item for any reason.
The entire buyer side is hidden from sellers, and disputes are expressly not managed by Glyde. It is between you and an unknown party. And you the seller are stuck with the problem. You end up holding the bag for whatever Glyde did wrong in the customer experience.
BTW, Glyde publishes no phone number. And they stop responding to emails after a while.
I recommend that sellers steer clear of this outfit. EBay is preferable, or a company like PowerOn.
I had a Samsung Note that I no longer needed because I changed carriers and upgraded. I was told about Glyde and the easy way to sell your extra smartphone for a good price. So I went to the website got the information, gave them my information and next thing you know the phone is sold and the money is in my account. It was very easy to do. I wish most businesses operated this way.
They would really benefit from pictures. I still would have purchased this phone as the price was good, but it's not in "Excellent" condition as described due to some very noticeable dings around the side. They also should give longer than 72 hours to "accept or reject" the phone, or at least make it over business days. I just had the situation where the phone arrived late on a Friday when I had left for the weekend (after sitting at the seller's place with the shipping kit ready for 2+ weeks before actually shipping...), and now I need to accept or reject the phone after minimal usage. I am accepting and hoping for the best, but I am worried and don't currently foresee myself using Glyde for the next phone purchase.
Bought a Galaxy S5 for a reasonable price (120$ or so) and was fairly happy and excited to receive it. 5 mins later I received an email saying my order was cancelled, but the money was never returned to my bank. I complained over email and received a computer generated response saying they would get back to me within 24 hours, that never happened and I am still waiting for a response.
I have ordered a few times from glyde, and have had a great experience each time. I find that glyde is often the cheapest for games and dvds. (I am an experienced online shopper, I know good deals). I will admit that not every item is a deal, but there is so much QUICK turnaround, that you don't have to wait long for your desired item to reach your price point. The shipping for me (midwest) has taken less time than they predict, and is only a bit slower than you might expect from ebay or amazon. Remember that this is only because the seller has to wait a day or two to get the selling envelope from glyde before shipping.
The interface is attractive and simple. Selling appears to be as easy as buying. This is a wonderful alternative for buying media. TRY IT.
I sold two iPhones. They were 'sold' within hours of each other. I sent off the phones via USPS on the same day (in fact, I gave the PO both boxes simultaneously).
However, one phone took nearly three weeks to go through the whole process whereas the other took approximately 1 week. No explanation. Looking at the tracking data, the phone that was 'lost' was not going anywhere special.
I would have to have a lot of patience before using this in the future.
Throughout my buying and selling experience on Glyde, I have encountered nothing but top-notch customer service (despite my several mistakes) and incredible ease on both ends of a sale. When something goes wrong with a sale, Glyde is amazingly fair to both the buyer and seller. I recommend Glyde as highly as any other website I have ever used for buying or selling media.
My initial review was negative because I was a little uneasy about dealing with them for the first time after reading other reviews so I thought I was gonna get ripped off, but I've sold a kindle and an android and received my payments so I'm a happy camper. A customer service number would probably give people a peace of mind!
Hi Joy. Please let us know how we can help at service@glyde.com. Although we do not have customer service over the phone at this time, we can answer any questions you have through email within 24 hours.
Offerred 2 phones on Glyde, easily cleaned hard drive, and sold both. The first... no problems... The second was rejected by buyer. The word "damaged" in the explanation for the rejection, but I could find nothing wrong. I will try again with a third extra phone, but would have appreciated a more detailed explanation.
Despite multiple emails, Glyde has refused to contact me as to why they have frozen my account. I cannot buy new phones, or withdraw the money I have on my account. There does not seem to be a way to talk with a representative on the phone directly, which is incredibly frustrating.
Sold 3 iPhones, but had to clean them of info, etc and still got held up by one buyer who claimed phone was locked. Had to contact Glyde to learn status of overdue sales. If you use Glyde you will do lots of work for the money. Not a pack it, ship it, collect a check operation.
Answer: Glyde is a great companyi did have a bad experence with a purchase but glyde sent out a return label on them and i was credited really quick. When dealing with companies on the internet i use my amazon or my paypal so that way its not hlding up my personal account. At any rate my issue was the person that sold me the phone had sent me a phone that was originally a sprint phone but flashed to cricket carrier when i tried to switch it to sprint they werent able to program the phone and i was already a customer only they couldnt figure out why. When we were programming the phone it showed the name cricket as we completed a reset of the system. So most people these days they jailbreak phones or flash maybe another work at any rate your covered regardless but i would recommend
