Avoid this company
July 4, 2024

Avoid this company. You do not get what you pay for. When you complain about it you get ignored. I've tried to cancel this 4 times and I keep being charged for it and boxes sent. I'm going to have to cancel my card to stop the payments as the refuse to cancel.

DO NOT USE!
You will be signed to a continual annual subscription even if you intend a one off payment. If you order extra items you will be signed to another annual subscription.
Glossybox will take £130 from you bank account annually thereafter, but you will not receive any items. It is not possible to contact by telephone as the lines are permanently closed. The online chat is just a robot. If you complete the online enquiry form you will receive a reply that does not address the issue, then after you will be blanked
The only way to receive reimbursement is to enter a lengthy 'Dispute Procedure' with your Bank.
Please be aware and do not make any purchase from Glossybox,

I ordered two advent calendars for my daughters. One is missing an entire row of product. I finally got ahold of a customer service agent at Glossybox and they will not replace the missing product that I paid for. Not a good experience. I will not ever order from this company again.

STEAL AND IGNORR

This business is absolutely despicable. I had a 12 month subscription. 2 boxes I didn't even recieve. The boxes are pretty bad, repeated products, leaking, broken. Then I tried to cancel 3 x and they ignored it and charged me. Now I've tried to contact them through EVERY POSSIBLE METHOD. I have evidence of cancelling in October and they are playing dumb ignoring me. I'm going to the media and every review site to make sure people don't fall for this. I reviewed on Other sites and they replied in 2 minutes claiming to have sent me a message when they've actually ignored me. It's hilariously terrible. If you do read this GIVE ME MY MONEY BACK AND RESPOND TO MY MESSAGE.

I ordered a 12 month subscription for my mom for xmas. She received 5 months and then it stopped. No contact; no refund; nothing. After many, many messages, they said it was backordered, they no longer ship to the US, we never paid, etc etc etc. Overall they stole my money and I'd never use them again.

Sent Wrong Item

Update: After contacting Glossybox 2 more times and then letting them know that I would be filing a credit card dispute since I received the wrong item they apologizes and processed a refund. So they did eventually make it right, but I had to fight for it.
I ordered a specific box from the outlet store (Feb 2020) and was sent a completely different box (March 2020). When I reached out to Glossybox about the error I was told that it was blind purchase and too bad. I do understand that some products may be subbed out, but I received a completely different month's box. The Feb 202 box listed the featured items for that box and no where does it state that I might not receive that box at all. I received a COMPLETELY DIFFERENT BOX with not a single one of the items that was featured in the box I purchased. I provided screenshots and photographs to show what I ordered vs. what I received. Glossybox is refusing to send me the correct box or a refund, so I am going to have to file a credit card dispute. Such disappointing customer service. Just own up to your mistake.

Horrible

I wasn't happy with my usual beauty subscription box so I decided to try glossy box. I received three months of boxes and was extremely disappointed. The products I received are things I don't normally use and I felt like I was throwing money down the drain. I cancelled my subscription last month. Then this month I received an alert that I was charged for another month. I contacted their customer service through the message app. That representative said they would send my issue to a higher up and would make sure it would be cancelled and I would no longer be charged. Before using the messenger app, I had sent an email regarding the cancellation issue. First the representative offered me a refund for the last charge if I agreed to continue the subscription. After responding that I would like to continue the cancellation, the representative told me they could not cancel my subscription because it was already past the cut off point. Luckily I had taken a screen shot of the confirmation from their page to verify the cancellation. I don't have much faith they will follow through with the cancellation so I cancelled my automatic payment just in case. Please don't waste your time or money on this business.

Do not waste your money

Do not bother! I decided to give it a go for a year subscription but first ordered a "try" x2 boxes. I do agree it is not expensive but what have arrived was rubbish. Its like you put money in your pocket and you lost them or someone stole it. But more then a month later I decided to give it another go for another try, and what was there - IDENTICAL 2 boxes that I have received more than a month ago. Fuming! Support says - it's blind boxes and they can't help me, But EVERY item in BOTH boxes came identical. Rubbish company! If I knew Glossybox is a scam - there are many other beauty boxes to chose from!

Began my 12 month Subscription in October 2021. Received a box every month from October to September (12 months of boxes).
Emailed to cancel on 23rd September 2022. Was informed that the cutoff date (14th) to cancel for the following month had passed so I would still be charged and receive October 2022s edition, then it would not renew.
Woke up this morning (1st November 2022) to find they have charged my card for November's box. Contacted them right away and received a response back saying:

"Please not that this was cancelled on 23-09-2022. And note the subscription full term is 12 months"

As you can imagine, I am confused and fuming that they continue to take money from my account and receive a generic, incorrect response like this when I have clearly and evidentially completed the full 12 month term!

The boxes are not worth their money anyway and I had been waiting for the 12 months to be up in order to cancel but it seems they will not let me!

Rob you blind for months after cancellation

Where do I start?! I only received 1 box yet my bank account is full of transactions from this company. They have taken so many unauthorised payments from my account, even though they have acknowledged my cancelled subscription! I started off being nice to them about it but now I'm just fed up and threatened them with Tranding Standards etc. They can't get away with that surely?! The box I did receive contained false eye lashes with no glue, a face scrub and a hair mask... definately not worth all this back and fourth nonsense!

I want to cancle my subscription since there are "shipping restrictions" for the 3 box bundles but none for the regular subscription, but you told my refferal her order was canceled due to supply orders is just unprofessional and I will not be a member with service like this. I wish I could give a zero star they would receive it.

The most shady business practises I've experienced. I got the december box and knew about the subscription auto renewals as I've had many subscription services before but could not find any option to cancel it on the webpage. I assumed it was not part of a subscription because I used a code and got a different box then those who have subscribed. (I saw comments who have the subscription complaining not getting it and being neglected) In January they took my money for January and finally found an option to cancel and did. Because the subscription says still active although I received a confirmation e-mail that I cancelled I contacted CS. They stated me the policies for a 3,6 & 12 month subscription which does not apply here at all. After a bit back and forth, they even admitted that once you sign up and cancel immediately one more box will be generated after cancellation which means you automatically sign up for 2 boxes. Didn't even response to their missing cancellation option.

Bad Quality

For the past 3 years we have ordered the advent calendar from Glossy Box for my mother, and she has enjoyed them. When we ordered this year, it came late on the 18 of December and this was ordered in October. When we opened the boxes, it was very disappointing; out of the whole glossy box we only received 4 items which were makeup. Most of the products were serums, and on the 25 day we received a tiny eyeshadow pallet and two brushes that felt very cheap. Did not enjoy the advent calendar and probably will not purchase again next year.

AVOID GLOSSYBOX

I honestly don't know how this company is still operating, it is just one big con and I would love to know how many peoples money they have taken and not provided the goods for, had a one year subscription and it was just problem after problem, late boxes, boxes not turning up, cheap products instead of the expensive ones they say you will get, overcharging for limited edition boxes, none existent customer service the list is endless, and the final straw, ordered 2 advent calanders in September, I have only received one and that was on 7th December with no sign of the other one even though I've paid for it and they never actually answer your questions when you message them, no phone number no live chat nothing, what kind of advent calander arrives on tbe 7th dec? It's now the 13th dec and I still haven't received the other one, this company needs looking into by a consumer programme, I bet the lines would be jammed with all the unhappy customers who feel scammed, disappointed and stressed because of them to say the least, please avoid this awful company, I never write reviews but I really feel I have to with glossybox it's the shadiest company stay well away, scam scam scam!

Sigh... I wanted to love Glossybox and bought 3 advent calendars as gifts for Christmas 2021. I ordered more than 2 months in advance, but still no boxes have arrived. I followed up multiple times with the company who kept cheerily assuring me that I would receive tracking when the boxes had shipped. Never once did they indicate they would not ship until after Advent had started. Sadly, the boxes are scheduled to arrive on December 9th which is close to halfway through advent. Called the company, and no accommodation was made for the delay. This is just so odd to me. It's like a company shipping you a Halloween costume on November 5th and wondering why you no longer find it useful. I gave Glossybox 4 opportunities to fix it (2 emails to customer service and 2 phone calls) before I wrote my review. In short, Glossybox could not deliver their advent calendars in time for Advent which seems to me like they are offering a pointless product and deeply frustrating experience. You had one job, Glossybox, one job! I will never order from them again. There are plenty of other beauty subscription boxes and beauty Advent calendars out there that value their customers and keep their promises.

I signed up at the end of the month for a months subscription to Glossybox to see if I liked the products they sent. I was automatically charged two days later for the next month when I hadn't even received the first box. Glossybox told me; " If you choose to subscribe to the Monthly Plan between the 15th to the end of the month, you automatically agree to following month's charge." This means up to 50% of people could be in this situation and charged for something they don't want. Very underhand tactics.

Bad customer service
August 25, 2021

Unfortunately the customer service let's them down. The boxes are good and the right price per month, but I cancelled my subscription after the 1st box due to financial reasons. They then took money out of my account on the 2nd month, so I just assumed I cancelled it too late, but then taking money out of my account on the third month - that was not acceptable!

Unfortunately you can't call someone to discuss this with you have to send messages and from the replies I am recieving, no one is fully reading my messages.

I tell them I have cancelled the subscription and that I only have two email addresses and neither has a subscription with them. I thought that finally I had gotten through to someone that understood, and they confirmed that my subscription was cancelled, yet did not offer a refund of the money they took as there was a box on it way.

So I had to accept the box, but when it arrived the box was damaged as the can of drink that they had put in this month's subscription had burst and ruined all the products in the box.

I had to again message someone regarding this, and nearly a whole month later from them taking the money out of my account, I am still no where further!

They keep asking for an order number, which I don't have as I cancelled my subscription. They keep asking for other email addresses and other contact information but still can't find any information. To which I reply, it's because I cancelled the subscription!

Seriously why can't you call and talk to a human being! It takes them 24 hrs to reply to your message, you the. Have to reply back which takes them another 24 hrs to read and reply to you!

So to date I still don't have my subscription money back, nor do I have a box as compensation as it's ruined by the burst can.

I liked my first box, but the second one was a joke. Like the sample ipsy size but double the price. So i cancelled, buuut they keep on billing me. Finally after trying all ways to contact them they accused me of having a yearly not monthly subscription... good thing i had my original email. Then she back peddled real fast. They are liars and scammers. And they try to trick you into thinking you are stuck in a yearly even if you have a monthly., pay attention... we will see next month if they actual cancel. She assured me it will be.
