Need a letter from credit department stating account paid, but can get no response. I needed this letter faxed ASAP, but no one seems to know how to answer phone or do their job.
GINNYS "CREDIT DEPARTMENT" SENT ME A BILL FOR ~$650 LOOKS VERY MUCH LIKE A NIGERIAN SCAM ONLY I GOT A BILL IN THE MAIL
THEY ARE "UNFORTUNATELY, DUE TO THE AMOUNT OF" THE ORDER THEY ARE "NOT ABLE TO PROCESS THE ORDER WITHOUT SOME ADVANCE REMITTANCE"
THE BILL DOES NOT IDENTIFY A PRODUCT THAT WAS PURCHASED ONLY AN AMOUNT THAT NEEDS TO BE "REMITTED"
I CALL THEIR NUMBER *******024 AND I SPOKE TO "GINNY" (WOW TALK ABOUT CUSTOMER SERVICE GINNY TOOK THE CALL) WHO TOLD ME THAT SOMEBODY IN STATEN ISLAND ORDERED A TV AND BILLED IT TO ME? AFTER A LOT OF ARGUING SHE TOLD ME I NEED TO TALK TO THEIR "LOSS PREVENTION DEPARTMENT" AND DO SOME "PAPERWORK!" SURELY A SCAM PAPERWORK?
I lost my job and did not have employment for about a month. Needless to say, my rent and car payments are first on the list. Now, I am current with all my credit cards and have never missed a payment before this happened. Since Ginny's only charge a 15 dollar late fee I skipped their payment and just made a double payment this month. I have received threatening letters in the mail in big capital letters a few days after I missed the payment - the last letter was sent in the mail after I made the double payment actually suggesting that Ginny's somehow has "control" over my other main credit cards and that they could lower my credit limit because of the skipped payment with Ginny's. I have ordered exactly twice from them. I am paying my account (about 200 dollars) and cancelling this because I don't agree with the harrassment just because you missed 1 payment. I have also read the review that Ginny's will hard inquire your credit each and every time you order something. Forget it! Ginny's is a small minded business with small minded people.
I have purchased from them before and paid with no problems, so they constantly send me catalogs saying I am approved with up to $400 buy now pay later, so I place an order for only $200 of their overpriced items that they said would be here on 12-21 so I expect to get my order, no order so I call and they say I was only approved with 25% down, but they sent no email, no call, no notice and all they could say was were sorry, very bad business I should have been told, it is Dec 22 and had I not called I would have been waiting for presents, now I have to rush out to buy, not a big loss cause I found the same items for ess than half the price, but their customer service SUCKS and they are way over priced
I tried to use a gift certificate for a purchase. The customer service department sent me an email saying the certificate number I provided was invalid, and that I should respond in two days, or they would proceed with the order and charge my card the full amount. I responded immediately with a message and a photo of the certificate. I never received a response, and I sent two follow up emails. Nothing. Two days later the full amount is charged to my card. I called and asked for an explanation. The customer service rep said he had no access to interactions by email, only some notes. He asked someone who said apparently the gift certificate had already been used. (It definitely hasn't). I asked when and for what, and he said the one person who could ask that information was not in the office but he would send a personal message to have that person call me. After 7 days I still have not received a call, and nobody has ever answered any of my countless emails. I canceled my order and will never order anything from Ginny's again. There is no excuse for poor customer service.
Hi Katie, we are sorry to hear this. We never want to let our customers down with our Customer Service. We apologize this happened to your order and we would be happy to look into this for you. Please send us a private message here or you can email us at socialcs@sccompanies.com and we can look into that Gift Certificate for you. Thanks for bringing this to our attention. We hope to hear from you soon. Have a great day.
I got a gift certificate for this place and had a hard time finding anything worth getting. Everything was way over priced and tacked on a huge shipping cost. A $75 gift card only got me a cheap shower head and a pepper spray. A third of the cost was for shipping. I didn't want to use my credit card, so I purposely didn't go over $75. The way their check out process works is that you have to put in a card number or set up a credit account with them. Then after putting in my certificate number I wasn't even sure that my card wasn't going to be charged because it didn't show how much the gift certificate was taking off and it still looked like it was going to charge my card. I sent their customer service a request for an itemized receipt an said, if my card gets charged, i want to cancel my order. Their reply was just Your card will not be charged, the gift certificate will cover the full amount. The same day that my stuff arrived, I was getting emails and text messages from my credit card company about suspicious activity on my account. I do not use this credit card often and suddenly there is some one in a different state (IL) trying to use my card at a Super Wal-mart. Thankfully my card company declined the charge and closed the account, but I believe that it was some one at ginny's who is involved in credit card fraud.

This company is terrible! If you are a few days late on a payment, they report you to the credit bureau and ruin your credit! Plus their products are a rip off.
Ginnys sold us a defective, Lamb Plush Toy that was listed as Playing Music and Lighting Up. Instead, I received a NON-WORKING, Battery Operated Plush Toy. A replacement Lamb was received from Ginnys after returning the defective item. LOW & BEHOLD a second, defective Lamb was received. How do companies get away with selling defective toys?
Hi Denise- We are sorry to hear this. Please send us your contact information via email to socialcs@sccompanies.com so we can look into this order and item. We appreciate you bringing this to our attention. We look forward to hearing from you.
I have been dealing with Ginny's for years. They are an outstanding company. I have never had any issues. And when I had any problems or lost a part, they were quick to handle it.
I received a mail-order catalog in my mailbox (that I DID NOT ORDER) and inside on the order form it gave a number to call to stop receiving "Prescreened" offers of credit from this and other companies by calling *******688 but when you call the number an automation message comes up "saying" that you can permanently remove your name from their mailing list HOWEVER you need to give them your Social Security Number. WHAT!... are they crazy thinking that we would give them our Social Security Number after all of their NEGATIVE Reviews?!? What a joke! They should be kind enough to accept the name and address OR not even offer "The Opt Out" Notice Be smart, do not deal with a shady company such as this! Then when I tried calling their order number to ask a live person to remove me from their mailing list, they told me that "unless I ordered something from them, they wouldn't remove it." GIVE ME A BREAK!
Hi Kristen, We are sorry to hear this. We would be happy to get your address removed from our mailing list. Please send your name and your address to socialcs@sccompanies.com and we will get this removed for you. I'm sorry for the incorrect information. We don't need your social to remove you. Thanks
They are very dishonest and tell you one thing and then when you place your order, they will completely change the game rules on you. Do not order from this company.
Hi Audrey, we are so sorry to hear this. We never want to upset a customer. All of our calls are recorded and we want to look into this. I have been with them for a while and I haven't had a problem and I will continue to be with them there is people complaining that there products are expensive well don't try to get credit from them.
They receive payments send email to customers on receiving payment but then they decide we don't want that payment on that card give another, not happening.
Hi Fred, we are sorry to hear you aren't happy with the payment processing. Please send us an email to socialsc@sccompanies.com with your contact information and reference this post so we can look into your account further. Thanks.
I have been waiting on my refund since December 17 2019. I have yet to receive my refund and Ginny's response, it's in the mail or it's being processed.
Mediocre company
I decided to do all my Christmas shopping at Ginny's. I sat down on a Sunday evening working off a gift list for my daughter, my wife, my mother-in-law and my son. I ordered several products from this company. A total of about $900. They actually shipped one order and suspended my credit line for all the other orders without having the minimal curtesy of notifying me.
When I called this company on December 6 to find out what the issue was, I was told I cannot use my account for two weeks because of suspicious activity. Even though I am in the phone verifying all my information I was told to re-order in 2 weeks and pay expedited shipping in order to get the gifts by Christmas.
This is ludicrous. I get a credit line increase to $1400. I am told I can use that credit line to order from the catalog and because I placed more than one order they will not ship.
They now have one less customer.
I'm am no longer interested in their ficticios credit or merchandise. I obtained everything elsewhere.
I was told before I purchased from them that they report to the credit bureau I open the account to improve my credit I have made all my payments on time I haven't paid the more each month I bought a headboard storage unit and it was a poor design never got to use it I put it together and then it broke they sent me new parts and put that together and it broke again now it just sits out my garage I paid 200 something dollars for this thing and don't even get to use it beware of them do not buy from them and they will tell you that they report to the credit bureau so they make you feel all warm and comfy inside to make you buy something the only way they report to the credit bureau is when your account goes in delinquent when you don't paynot very happy with them I will never use them again and I hope everybody out there don't use them either good luck
Same as most people On here I got a catalog telling me I'm pre approved for up to 400. And it would cost me 25. A month. The word (PRE APPROVED) is what got me. I am a recently disabled senior on a fixed income.and have some great grand children that live very poor. They and their parents lived with me for 3 years. I never charged rent or any utilities tell their parents could get a car and get on their feet. They moved out in November. Anyway I wanted to make sure the 4 babies got things for Christmas so I order stuff for only them. It came to 379.51 well I got a letter saying my credit wasn't approved. Although I have no problems anywhere else! They never sent me anything until I got it in the mail today! (New Years Eve!) I checked on line several times and it said my order was being processed. I thought things were maybe slow for Christmas so I waited patiently figured I would call tomorrow. And my great grand babies would not be seeing me until this week. I told them gramma had presents here and that Santa left some too because they always got Santa presents here. Now I have nothing for them except some oranges and dollar store coloring books and things in there stockings. Why would they pre approve me then tell me I have to pay? Thanks for ruining my babies Christmas Ginnys bet you had an awesome one! If I learned one thing it is always check reviews first. I'm sad that I didn't! It says after reviewing my my credit history we can't approve a credit account under the terms I requested! I did not request anything! They said I was approved!
Hi Sandra, thank you for sharing your frustration with us. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. All of our orders are subject to a final credit approval. We would be happy to look into your order for you to see what happened. You can contact us at socialcs@sccompanies.com with your contact information so we can look into your order.
Beware of the poor person's trap of "easy credit". I used Ginnys.com to purchase some items on their Choose and Charge. Fortunately, not much, so paid it off the next time. Items are overpriced sometimes and if you use Google Shopping you can search and find the same item or better at the same price or lower. Always research first before buying. Read online reviews and use model # to compare price. Beware "refurbished" being sold as New. My biggest concern is that I cannot track down the name of the bank that Ginnys and Swiss Colony and Monroe and Main use for their Choose and Charge program. Very suspicious. Swiss Colony and Monroe and Main show up on CreditKarma.com bank search engine, but Ginnys does not. Very suspicious. FullBeauty.com and BrylaneHome.com use Comenity bank and there is a Comenity.net website at which you can manage your accounts. So it seems very dangerous to use the "easy credit" of a Choose and Charge system that won't even let you know what the parent bank is and where it is located.
Horrible customer service! I purchased a feather mattress topper from them because I read the good reviews on their website. Turns out, the reviews are fake and I received the most crappiest bed topper that did not match my description! I emailed customer service and asked them to send me a return label since I did not want my item. They agreed to send it, but I never received it! They sent me to collections for something I wanted to send back! I have proof of emails and everything and they decided to ignore my requests and charge me more! Every time I have tried to contact them, they do NOT reply!
DO NOT PURCHASE ANYTHING GROM THIS COMPANY!
