Imagine the surprise to receive correspondence from this company that they could not ship my order until I paid a bill for $133, Never heard of this company and never placed an order. First thought was I was hacked. Called Customer service to hear a recording that I could leave a credit card number. Then I read customer reviews. Evidently this must be a new type of scam!
My grandmother randomly ended up with a catalog in a nursing home & wanted some things for Christmas. I couldn't even go through the checkout process on my phone (I have a several security features enabled through lifelock & antivirus protection), I had to go through a different desktop computer. They charged $40 for shipping which is crazy on its own, for a $300 order. 4 days before the order was due to arrive I realized I'd not received anything about the order shipping, so I went to check on the status (again, had to go to a desktop) & all of my items show cancelled. I l'd received an order confirmation, then another email listed as an order acknowledgement the next day, but nothing ever saying that my order was cancelled. I was slightly upset because I couldn't talk my grandmother out of this order even though I felt some type of way about this website I'd never heard of. So I tried to call, could not get anyone. Says their call volume is high & try again later. Reached out to their Facebook page &, they responded quickly and asked for the full name & address on my order then never got back with me. Almost worried I need to cancel my card because the whole thing is just off to me. Also I checked the website and the items still show in stock, so it's not like they ran out & cancelled for that reason.
Don't send pre approved magazines then tell the customer they will need to pay half as a down payment. I am sure I could buy the same items for half the price and no xtra charges for delivery and financing.
I went out of work on emergency medical in june i informed them and that when back to wrk would pay the bill. I called them 10/15/2019 to ask what i need to do to get my account straight and the lady(believe Carolyn) told me i needed to pay my past due of $150 and my account would e in good standing. Then a day later it shows on my credit report as a charge off. When i called and talked to a supervisor she basically said nothing can be done went to collections in september. Lies and no way to treat long time customers. Says she can't pull it back and that a lie i run a company and dio it all the time. Don't' us them they only care about money.
Was told I had a 250 dollar limit. Had over 70 dollars credit left and tried to order a 30 dollar item and was told I had to pay with a money order. No problem cancelled order after talking to customer service on phone for over an hour being transferred from one representative to another. Then coffee maker I got from them quit working after one week! Again called customer service to get a return shipping label and once again another one hour phone call back and forth and on hold with no results. This is a $#*!ty company so don't make the mistake of using them! You will regret it!

It is amazing that i have an account with the sister company and they receive all of my payments. Unfortunately when i pay my Ginny's account with the same banking information as the Midnight Velvet account Ginny's tells me they did not receive it. I called my bank and was told they never received any information from the company. This is a scam to charge late fees. And make harassing phone calls with the rudest people ever!

I made a payment of $367.55 to pay off my complete statement balance 02/21. I checked my account on 02/26 and saw where 2 payments for $367.55 had posted and cleared my account. When I called the customer service line Sherry was very polite and told me to call back Monday to speak with the credit department to issue a refund. The young man who answered for the credit side barely spoke, but what I did take away was that Ginny's was going to cut me a check for my full refund and I would receive it within 3 weeks. UNACCEPTABLE! Considering it was an ACH transactions and had cleared my back the same day, when I pressed to have a ACH refund back to my debit card the young man put me on hold for 10 minutes. Only to come back and say it was going to be returned to me through an ACH transaction but would still take up to 3 weeks. I will never order with this company again since you can't right a wrong that you the company made yourself!

I ordered a foot massager for a Christmas gift and when my niece opened it, it didn't work. I sent it back right away and requested an exchange. My money was refunded but I still never received the replacement. I called today 2-17 and was told that they don't have that item anymore. Gee thanks for letting me know AND for letting down my niece.
I paid my entire payment for my one time purchase of perfume, and they sent me ANOTHER bill of a LATE FEE, and then more bills. I originally paid around 50 dollars, as my perfume was 42, and now my closed bill states I still owe 40. I won't pay what I clearly do not owe.
It affected my credit score. Incompetent employees shouldn't be handling people's payments. When I called, they refused to drop the charge. This was from 2014. It is still on my credit report.
They did not get the 40 extra dollars they wanted. And will not. Absolutely pathetic, to charge people a fake late fee, after the entire bill was already paid. Keep in mind, this was the company *******@Five, now Ginny's.
Hi Tara. Please send us an email to our team at socialcs@sccompanies.com so we can get this resolved for you. Make sure you include your contact information as well as reference this post. Hope to hear from you soon.
1st the shipping and handling is outrageous. I wanted to send back and sheet set (hated sleeping on it) I still would had paid less to send it back, but that would had been the cost of my whole order. My order was only $25.00 with $9.99 s&h to send it back was $4.00. Giving the sheets to the shelters for dogs.
Received a random package in the mail that I did not order. Called customer service and they said the order was placed on a credit account in my name. I have never heard of this company, nor have I ever been to their website. SCAM, SCAM, SCAM. Given the numerous other reviews with similar situations, this company should be shut down.
Hi Kristen, thank you for reaching out. We would be happy to help you with this if you have not had this resolved yet. Please email us your contact information and the order number and items you received. You can reach us at socialcs@sccompanies.com. Thanks
At Ginnys i had 1175 in credit. At seventh ave I had 1125. At montgomery wards I had 800. At Country door i had 680 i believe. Well my credit was suspended for multiple orders. HUH? Its Xmas so yes there's more ordering. I think between 4 stores i had 10 orders. That was to many and they cut my credit at every store. How can you give the credit then say your using to much at one time. Really? 10 orders in a months time from 4 stores.
Hi Leah, thank you for reaching out. We would like to look into your accounts. Please send us an email to socialcs@sccompanies.com with your contact information and account number so we can take a look at your orders. Thanks for bringing this to our attention. We hope to hear from you soon.
In my opinion, if you have to pay half upfront than you probably have really horrible credit. My credit isn't great but it's good enough that they constantly are giving me a credit increase and I don't ever have to pay anything up front.
So, I have no experience with them as far as purchasing products, but I had to deal with them for an identity theft issue.
They refused to even look into it. They refused to review my account, check my proof, anything.
When I called customer service I was told they weren't going to do anything about it because, as they said, I might be a random person pretending to be me. Like... Really? I just randomly got up one day, pulled a person out of my $#*!, did some digging, figured they owed money, and put on an act as a golden deed for a random person to get debt gone?
Seriously.
This goes for their other company: Seventh Avenue as both accounts were connected.
To this day, I still have the debt, about $1200. Even with a police report, they refused to help.
I been a customer for about eight year. It was okay until I try to send a gift to a different address. They change my info to the person I'm sending the gift too, now they want a letter from both of us before they can fix their mistake.
Hi Kristine, thanks for bringing this to our attention. We want to help get this resolved for you. Please send me a private message here, or send an email to socialcs@sccompanies.com with both the incorrect and correct address so we can take a look. We look forward to hearing from you soon.
I have bought from Ginnys and sister companies for a long time. Never encountered issues until recently. Seems they run credit checks on every order you place so if you order for christmas a few times your credit will have a hard inquiry on it every order placed. My advice is to order everything at the same time. Even with approved credit they still will run a credit check so consumers should be aware of this
Bad Customer Experience
The worst customer service ever! I bought a deep fryer and the basket was poorly made and broke. When i contacted them to purchase a new basket or have one sent they said they could not because it was unavailable even though the item is still listed online. That was my first and last dealings with them. Avoid, and go to a ompetitor that is priced better anyway.
This is the worst company you can buy from. I purchased an item from them, the item they sent me was defeated, I returned the full item, they still charged me, and then they put it on my credit report saying i have a balance and my account is past due. I will never use them again nor will i refer them to any one
Scam company with predator credit! Do not apply if you are trying to rebuild your credit! Something is seriously amiss here with this company! Dishonest comes to mind! Drop shipment company from another planet!
