I purchased an item from Gilt for a gift and was anxiously awaiting its arrival. Upon tracking the package, I saw that it was one day from my house and the shipper requested that the package be returned. I contacted Gilt to inquire where my item was only to be told that 5he site had a technical glitch and the item should never have been sold to me for that price. I was never notified that my order was cancelled. They just took the item back without so much as an apology and an explanation. I now have no gift for my daughter. When I contacted Gikt they had no explanation as to why they didnt notify me that they were cancelling my sale and no apology. They should have offered immediate notification to allow me to buy another gift or offer a discount code for the item they cancelled. Disgusting!
I can find all the same clothes on Hautelook for less and free shipping on all orders over $100. The GiltCity vouchers are also terrible. You can get a better deal from the vendors directly. I ordered from GiltCity this ZUPA soup delivery. When the email for the voucher was not sent after 4 business days, I asked via phone and email for a refund. I was told on 4 separate phone calls and 2 separate emails that I would receive a refund and voila! After THREE WEEKS, rather than receiving a refund, I get the voucher via email. Customer service is abysmal and the prices are not even competitive.
SCAM run by 3 young Irish people (most likely siblings or very close friends based on their dialects) - I initially ordered one time at a time which I never paid over $150 for, and was satisfied for a few months. After my purchases became consistent, both in my ordering and their delivered the requested product, I increased the price per object to around $200. Today had a product delivered to me that they hoped I would like, rather than the sold out ones I had ordered (wrong brand, wrong color, wrong style).
NO COMPENSATION OF ANY KIND for "ERRORS" was given after speaking to "Susan", "Allison" and "Neill", and they made it seem like a big grand gesture that they would arrange for UPS to pick it up immediately and comp the shipping on my next order... That only benefits them, so they can sell them sooner!
Took over a month to get my order and then the bras were poorly made and didn't fit right,
I only got 1/2 refund refund because it would have cost me too much to send back, it came from China.
Beware the site is deceiving, purchased an item by misleading advertisement and now can't return it. It was thousand dollars item. How Gilt can rip-off people like that?
I've been buying from gilt for a long time. But every once in a while, I would receive a USED ITEM! A freaking used item! Like a pair of D&G shoes that were obviously worn before and polished and freaking sent to me. Gotta be $#*!ting me right? Remember how you guys charge 650 for the gucci sneakers when they are only 500 on the ACTUAL GUCCI SITE? WHAT IS HAPPENING TO you $#*!s?
I ordered a Stella shoes through Gilt.com. They withdraw money from my bank account, and 3days later they canceled my order and locked my account. I called the customer service and their attitudes are bad. They told me they cannot provide future information and no reason to locked my account. The reason is cannot confirm the details. When I want to reorder again, they told me out of stock and my account has been locked! WTF? I think this is a wired website and customer service is worst. Maybe this is a scam website. I hope they can refund, my god, if not, I wanna sue them!
Been shopping at gilt for years and never had any issues. I haven't returned many things so I can comment on that. For Mens clothing I think they have one of the better selections.
New EXTREMELY STRICT Return Policy
BEWARE! I have spent over $5,000 with Gilt in the past year because the company has always had good products, good prices, and great customer service. NO LONGER. The company has recently changed its return policy so that there are absolutely no exceptions for returns... even if the item runs too small or too large, or has an incomplete or inaccurate description. No exceptions, which is an inherently bad policy for an online merchant where customers are unable to try items on beforehand.
The only expiration date was for the purchased item. There however was no expiration date on the credit that was being promoted (e.g. Spend $95 and get $95 worth of Warby Parker plus $25 credit on Gilt). So I went ahead and spent the Warby Parker amount within the explicit timeframe and saved the Gilt credit for a time I actually wanted something from Gilt. Any good company, like LLBean, JetBlue, or SouthWest don't have credit expiration dates, and if they did would be transparent and explicit about them. Customer service was unhelpful and said the credit expired shortly after the Warby Parker amount expired. I had hopes for Gilt and am surely disappointed. You can count on me going to Groupon, Nordstrom Racks, and TJMaxx for discounted quality products and services in the future and leaving Gilt in the dust.
I had a problem with an item, Paid $1,000 in a shoe and after wearing for the first time the shoes were destroyed. I wonder if the shoes were real or fake. Called costumer service and they said that I could not return the product. Unbelievable! Last time I order anything in this website. HIGHLY DO NOT RECOMMEND!
As of August 1st, my return was finally processed and correct amount was credited to my credit card. I would not purchase from them again, but am pleased that the problem was resolved.
I have ordered from Gilt in the past with no issues. In June, I ordered a pair of jeans for my husband. The jeans did not fit and were eligible for return. I generated a return label through their website and mailed the jeans back with their return label and original packaging. As of 7/9th, their website no longer has any information re: returns or orders prior to that date. I am unable to track my return and have not received any refund. I have called customer service multiple times to which they have told me that they were "bought out by Rue LaLa" and are in "legal proceedings" and can't access any of the old info or return tracking. So where it stands, I do not have the product and do not have a refund with no date of this being resolved. Poor customer service, I would not order from them.
Have shopped from Gilt several times and have returned about 50% of the items purchased. Quality is definitely not what you see in the Off Fifth stores.

Had a problem applying my discount. Billed the full amount, it took three phone calls to straighten out, but it finally was, and the customer service people were unfailingly pleasant and courteous.

I bought few time from Gilt they are good and price is OK but they get you when it comes to return they charge all kind of fees, it's said on the item page returnable but they only give you a credit, and if you want it back to your credit card that more fees... I also had some credit for referring a friend this credit is only good for 20 days and supposedly they sent me an email that it's going to be expire, NEVER received anything too much SCAM..
Everything I've purchased has been great I have no complaints and once I started I just couldn't stop I really loved what they had and I'm a big time Gucci and Chanel lady I'm checking there site everyday if you don't get it when you see it with in the day it's gone if they have your size when you see you better grab it... lol

Answer: DO NOT purchase from Gilt! They state they "stand behind the authenticity" of their products. THEY DO NOT! I paid $975.96 for a LV handbag. Later, (after the 30 day refund policy) it started falling apart. Found out it was a fake. Gilt will not exchange or do anything to correct this. It's horrible customer service.
