I have been a member of gilt for a number of years. The last 6 months have been bad. I have had damaged goods sent to me where it took months to sort out (high end). It is also not a level playing field. As one person commented it show as a "first come first serve", but they will even admit that is not turn. There is a glitch in the system that allows someone with computer savy to keep things in there for extremely long periods of time( basically have it tyed up until they have called all of their clicents to make a sell). Recently they had had problems with their check-out so if you attempted to purchase an item it would not go through saying "Their are tech. Difficulties".
Also alot of other sites are cheaper. Last week Ruelala had a sale on Carlos Falchi & this week gilt had their sale. Things were hundred of dollars more for exact items on gilt.

I received a Christmas gift from gilt.com from my brother. I returned it for credit, which was not what I wanted (I wanted the cash) but gilt refused because my brother paid for it on his credit card. I ended up using the credit to purchase a pair of jeans, which didn't fit right. So I had to return those jeans to a Sacks Off 5th store. When I returned the item, the manager at Sacks had problems processing it so the entire affair was time consuming and tedious. Plus, I had to pay for shipping in both directions which really cut into my online credit amount. Fast forward 18 months, finally decided to rid myself of the remaining credit I had and ordered some underwear. They should fit correctly right? Another $10 for shipping and its the slowest shipping around. FedEx. Taking easily over a week to reach me. Gilt.com making $$$ hands over fist on their shipping fees and their prices on most merchandise (easy to compare elsewhere online before you buy something) are not competitive. No way would order from this company again!
My friend send me a $20 credit I made my order purchase Nan's no credit was given so I called customer service to cancel the next day they told me they could cancel the order what really never again first n last time I get something from them smh
Nice prices are no more... and the retail product lines have changed and/or dwindled.
I think the price jumps happened about the same time that the return policy was expanded.
Had bad experience. Ordered a product, but when it arrived, it was not as advertised. At first they said no return, then said since it was my first purchase they would accept return, if i printed out return label. Sent them an email, i have no printer, and they told me to go to a store or such to have return slip printed, they could not send me one. I live in very small community, and when i finally located place to have it printed out... the TIME had run out, and was no longer available to return. I WILL DEFINITELY NOT SHOP THIS SITE AGAIN, $380.00 down the drain!
Purchased what was supposed to be a new, authentic Roberto Coin gold & diamond bracelet. It arrived packaged in a flimsy plastic bag--not the box that all new Roberto Coin jewelry is packaged in--and had no papers to attest to its authenticity, which also comes with all Roberto Coin jewelry. There is also a small defect in the bracelet. I have tried working with customer service, which has been not only frustrating but useless. It took three emails to get them to answer the question, "is this a new, first quality item", and then they only answered that it was not a pre-owned item. I have received no answer to my question asking if it is first quality. As to why it came with no box or papers, I was told that the description did not indicate it came with these, and I would just have to take their word that it is authentic. At best I believe I was sold a "second" or at worst a "knock off." This was an expensive mistake; one I will not make again. I will no longer be purchasing anything from Gilt.

Sent several e-mails, no credit as of 08. 06. 19. DO NOT ORDER ANYTHING FROM THEM. YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO GET YOUR MONEY BACK ( IN CASE OF RETURN)
I was trying to look at some heels for my wife to get her for calentines day. I decided not to get the heels but GLIT still took out $579.14 when I didn't even place the order! It should be called "GLITCH" not GLIT! If I can give 0 stars I would. All they can say is I now have to wait 2 days to get my money back that I didn't even order in the first place! HORRIBLE COMPANY! Don't put any info if your going to buy something but I suggest you go somewhere else. This is RIDICULOUS!
I ordered a pair of shoes from Gilt. They were on sale and advertised as non-returnable and non-exchangeable. Fair enough. Except - the product page advised customers (still does) that the shoes are of a large make and that customers should consider ordering half a size smaller shoes than usual. Trusting their advice is sound and trustworthy, I did exactly that. Then the shoes arrived, but they are in fact not of a large make and so the shoes are too small for me. I called to ask if I can exchange for the correct size, happy to bear the cost, and the answer (repeatedly) was that the item was clearly on sale and it’s not their fault I followed their advice, nobody made me do so. Wow! Then the customer service refused to escalate my complaint or respond, following the third exchange, all the while maintaining it is not their fault they published the wrong advice to people. I am now out of pocket, and without that pair of shoes, and the retailer, is, of course, not budging. It makes no difference that I have been a regular customer and it is clear from my previous orders that I had never ordered size 5.5 before. Up until now, more than satisfied with their service. I will not shop there again, and will be lodging a complaint.

This would have been my 7-8 purchase from gilt. Long story short: they sent me a additional 20% off + free shipping for the same day I made a purchase. I filled up my cart with a pregnancy pillow I'm dying for (I am 6.5 months pregnant :), went to checkout, ant noticed a 10.95 "delivery charge". I decided to email their customer service to ask about the misrepresentation of "free shipping"... Received an auto reply immediately saying "we care, yadayada" waited a day- no reply, emailed again asking when I could expect to hear from someone... Well, it's been 2.5 days- nothing. Totally disappointed and they just lost a great customer. Not to mention their prices have been higher than amazons the last few times! Now this? I will be leaving reviews ( as I mentioned in my initial email to them)- social media is my profession and once the reviews start adding up... It's just a matter of time. I am always so disappointed in how customer service has declined over the years. Don't these businesses realize that we (the customers) are their bread and butter?
Really, what a mess this site is... I ordered 2 items with an expected delivery date, which has been surpassed, I contact them and they tell me 1 item shipped, 2 days ago, yet UPS still can't track it as they have no package in they're system. The other item will take more than 5 weeks to arrive... I could flown to Germany and picked up my knives quicker than these blowhards could deliver. STAY AWAY... SHOP ANYWHERE ELSE... YOU'LL BE MUCH HAPPIER!
I ordered a YSL bag that was described as calf leather. The bag came and had a suede appearance and the authenticity card stated that it was coated velour. I have called about 10 times over the past week only to get the runaround by rude and unhelpful customer service representatives. This morning, Paul stated that there was nowhere in the description that guaranteed that it would be genuine leather. I told him that the description of the bag was calf leather and that was a guarantee in it of itself. Even though the bag was final sale their return policy states that an item that is incorrect is subject to a full refund, however, they do not honor this. There is no one to speak with. They said there is an operations manager, but that I cannot speak with them. I also asked if I could talk to corporate and they said good luck you will speak to a receptionist who will only route you back to us, a customer service group in Ireland. They went so far as to suggest that I dispute the claim with my bank. Is this any way to run a business? They misrepresented the item that I was buying and now do not want to take responsibility. I will never buy from them again and caution anyone who thinks of doing so.
I recently purchased tickets through Gilt for a specific section that was suppose to be pre-loaded with credit for food and drinks. Not only did I receive tickets for a cheaper section, but my tickets also did not have any credit. After 30 or so minutes on the phone, after the game started, I was told by customer service that there was nothing they can do and that I should sit in the incorrect tickets and call them after the to sort it out. I called them the next day and they were still unprepared for my situation. After explaining my situation all over again to this representative I was told that it was being sent to the escalation team and that it will take 3-5 days for them to reach out to me. I also mentioned that I have a similar order upcoming in 3 days and the customer service representative didn't even sound confident that they would reply soon enough to confirm that order as well. This is just overall an awful customer experience and I want to warn others from purchasing anything from this site. Thank you.

Just be aware that for most returns you'll only get store credit which can be risky if the item you ordered arrives and isn't up to your expectations and they don't have anything else you want. The cashmere sweater I bought from them didn't seem like much of a bargain in terms of the quality of material and fit compared to nearly identical items I have bought elsewhere for less at places like UNIQLO and Filene's Basement, but of course you can't always count on getting quality cashmere at a discount, it's hit or miss.
It's very difficult to get a return from them, and the refund you get will be significantly less than what you paid. The website is terrible there is no way to track your order because they made weird changes all the time. It's been a week since I sent back the item but they are telling me theres no updates at all and they didnt even have a tracking number. I'm just going to give it another week and then it will become a dispute. I will never shop at this website anymore not to mention about the authenticity of its product. STAY AWAY IF YOU DONT WANT TO SPEND 1-2 MONTH DEALING WITH THEM.
Nothing at this company is refundable or returnable. Beware, if you order anything you aren't happy with you can never get your money back. Do not shop here!

So i've been a loyal Gilt customer until now. Ordered yohji yamamoto dress which had a retail value >$3,000 as per Gilt.com website. Once i received this item I noted the retail price tag of 50% less from what Gilt.com stated, so I could have gotten a MUCH better deal if I would have purchased this dress from the actual boutique during its sale. Now i am questioning almost each of my single purchase with Gilt. Do we really get a massive discount or it is all made up by the website?!... Now i will be very careful with buying anything on Gilt.com. In addition, I used once Gilt for Bon Jovi tix, AND ended up sitting next to a couple who bought their tix of the regular website for the price 40% less of what we paid for Gilt's "special offer" (so even with the discount, we really did not get a great deal as we realized)... So I am thinking if a buyer is comfortable with paying a certain amount of money while shopping on Gilt.com, that is a win win situation for all, unless a buyer is looking for a great deal, than I would never recommend using Gilt.com (especially after such a misleading information in regards to the real retail prices). Answer: DO NOT purchase from Gilt! They state they "stand behind the authenticity" of their products. THEY DO NOT! I paid $975.96 for a LV handbag. Later, (after the 30 day refund policy) it started falling apart. Found out it was a fake. Gilt will not exchange or do anything to correct this. It's horrible customer service.
