My purchase was canceled, I didn't have any kind of contact and I haven't received my money back yet according to the mentioned date. I'm completely frustrated with this because I didn't think the site was so non-committal about not making contact and I don't have the gift for tomorrow I won't have the gift.
So I ordered some dishes at the price of 215 dollars from GILT with afterpay and when I go look at the receipt they have the wrong shipping address. So mind you now gilt says they are unable to change the shipping address because of afterpay and they have a third party involved that they will try to cancell my order. Well if you can accept my money why can't you change the shipping address? I've never heard of a place where they are just willing to send your merchandise to a whole nother city. I'm so frustrated I will never use this company again!and I better get my money back!
I have always gotten good products from Gilt. I mostly get products for my home. Towels and bed cover sets are well worth the money. I recommend this web site
I bought earrings and veja shoes - first off i didnt received my package for veja shoes they shipped via ontrac this shipping company is not reliable - then i called customer service via gilt they said she couldn't help me my package was shipped and no managers on duty. 2nd the earrings the claps doesn't work so I can't put on my ears, this company are scamming people to buy fake thing
I purchase a double G Mormont Gucci belt and Gucci sunglasses. The belt was a fake and the sunglasses weren't authentic. Disappointed because prior to making my purchase I researched the website. I returned the items the same day.
I bought Burberry handbags from their site. There was a problem with one of the bags, which Gilt couldn't correct. When I contacted Burberry about the problem I was informed that Gilt wasn't an authorized retailer. They called into question whether in fact it was an authentic
Burberry bag. I took them to a Burberry store in my area and was informed that they were fakes. I again contacted gilt with this information. They refused to acknowledge these were fakes and refused to return them. A warning to anyone who decides to buy on this site. Dont! They will not accept returns and the goods might not be what is advertisized
I have ordered several times from the site. My experience was really good! Prices are surprisingly low. Swift shipping. Items were exactly as described. Thanks a lot! I will come back for purchasing.
Gilt is hit or miss. I shop there regularly, mostly candles and housewares. Several orders have arrived quickly within 2 or 3 days, while other orders have taken beyond the two week delivery time frame to arrive. This unreliability has prevented me from using this site to buy/send gifts directly to recipients.
Customer service is useless. They make excuses for supposedly 'lost' packages that were never shipped. They answer questions by repeating what you already know about your order. Unhelpful and a little snide. I prefer honest & straightforward answers.
Some products arrive in perfect condition, while others arrive with scratches or crushed boxes, rendering them unsuitable to gift, but still fine for home use. A few times I'd received products that looked different than the photo on the site, but nothing extreme enough to prompt a return or exchange process (which, based on my exchanges with their cust. Service, would not be a mess I'd wish to get into). So far no glass has arrived broken.
When they send you emails offering a discount off they should honor them-instead customer service said differently-she then asked me to forward email but I've never heard back

Returned my item in July. At that time they hid all the previous orders from your account for some reason so I had to email them separately so they could create a return label. It was find until here although I was frustrated that I could not see any of my purchase records.
Frustration continues. I receive an email a couple weeks later that ~$25 is refunded to my credit card. Hmm... I returned 6 items that are worth ~$200 in total. I have no idea where the 25 came from. I email them about this and they ask me to pull up all the order numbers, return label, and Fedex label. I didn't understand why a customer had to go through this extra job. But if it were to give me the correct refund amount, I was fine so I did what they told me to do.
The email went back and forth for weeks (me having to prove my returns and them kept saying "thank you for your patience and we understand your frustration"). I get a final email from them saying they only received one of three items and have posted $33 on my account.
I returned 6 NOT 3, NOT 1. To assist their process, I had even created a summary of the original price, discounted price of each item that I bought and returned (which again, a customer need not be doing). That list was simply ignored and they still failed to process me with the correct refund. Where is the rest of my money? I don't know... I hope it goes in good hands.

Beautiful merchandise with good prices BUT watch out for the shipping/handling prices and the return policy. Also, c'mon Gilt, NO OTHER WEBSITE makes you put in your credit card number before they let you test your coupon code. I refuse to put in my credit card number before I know whether or not I'm going to purchase an item, and whether or not I can use a coupon code makes all the difference.
I ended up using Live Chat to find out that my coupon code wasn't valid (rather than entering in my Visa card number, then the coupon code, which is what the Gilt website requires in order to find out whether the coupon code works). So I did not purchase the item (a $35 throw pillow with $9.95 S/H--no way!) and wasted my time to boot.
Called Fedex and they told me they couldn't hold my package I had to call the sender. I expressed that the office will be closed and no one will be here until Monday. They stated it'lll be placed in a safe place after I said it wasn't safe to just leave a package. I called Gilt just for them to tell me they are still going to deliver it regardless and there was nothing they could do. Which didn't make sense because that's the same thing Fedex said. When I checked the tracking it stated it'll be delivered by the end of the day, I'm very frustrated i spent over $100 just for them not to be able to help! I'll never buy from them again. I wouldn't advise you to buy anything especially if they can't help you!

Answer: DO NOT purchase from Gilt! They state they "stand behind the authenticity" of their products. THEY DO NOT! I paid $975.96 for a LV handbag. Later, (after the 30 day refund policy) it started falling apart. Found out it was a fake. Gilt will not exchange or do anything to correct this. It's horrible customer service.
