I WAS HOMELESS IN GEORGIA FOR ABOUT 4 MONTHS BECAUSE ROADSIDE ASSISTANCE REFUSED TO COME JUMP START MY CAR AND IT WAS TOWED. I HAD NO WAY TO GET BACK TO MY CAR. I'M SUING!
Geico is a horrible insurance company! I was recently in a car accident that was not my fault and I was provided with extremely poor service. No adjuster was assigned to my claim and no one contacted me to process the claim. The claim representatives are extremely unprofessional and unknowledgeable of how to answer questions regarding the insurance claim. They sent me to a bad repair collision center which damaged my vehicle and the Geico claims department never took the time to contact me to investigate & inquire about the damages. They denied any damages after one month by leaving a general voice message by a novice adjuster that I had never been in contact with. I have been a loyal customer of Geico Insurance Co since 2009 and I feel that in the last few years Geico company has done a total revamp of the company and it's a big disaster and a mess! The company does not acknowledge nor do they care about the customer who pays for auto insurance in order to receive protection when there is a collision or damages as a result of a MVA. Their staff stinks and they have no idea what insurance is if they feel they can boot "you out" and not explain anything to you! They have no understanding of the law, and ethical standards for processing a claim! I am horrified and appalled at how unruly, disrespectful and ugly their services are. They are by the way providing a service!
They always make some excuse about why they keep increasing they always say a statewide thing but I've come to find out that geico is a rip off they are the only ones that keep increasing people's bills by $40 every time renewal and I'm sick of it no accidents no tickets over the age of 49 and I'm still getting increases in my car insurance I don't understand it and I'm over it and their customer service the possible worst they come up with every explanation of giving you a reason why the increase instead of saying we value you as a customer let me see what I can do they don't care
My car has been at two different places from a rodent that passed away in my car and did damage to the interior. They sent me to the first place they wouldn't do the work then the car was towed to another place been sitting there a week because Volkswagon says they've tried to call but no one calls back They have the get the go ahead to fix damages!. They have to do a diagnostic check for wires disinfect etc. Bad communication had a rental the past week and the car is just sitting there with nothing done. To top it off I have a second thing for my car as it got bumped in a car wash has to go back to the first place to get fixed by the car wash., when this is over I am switching what good does low rates do you if they don't take care of your car. So I'm looking at least three weeks total by the time this is done for something as simple as a rodent and some scratches on the back of the bumper from being bumped in a car wash.
Geico raises your rates without letting you know! No incidents and a good driving record do not matter. If you use auto-pay, they will sneakily raise your rates. I quit Geico and they OWE ME 250 BUCKS! Which they drag their feet on refunding. I went to progressive and pay 1/2 of what geico charges for the same coverage! Now I have to keep calling these clowns to get my refund! DO NOT USE GEICO!
The Geico adjuster did not do his job and as a result my mother who is on a fixed income cannot buy groceries. Enterprise has charged her several hundred dollars because Geico failed to extend the rental like they were supposed to and as a result her account has been drained.
I have had Geico auto for 10 years. In the last 4 years my rates increased 40%. No claims, No tickets and my vehicles are only getting older so lower values. I only get canned repsonses from them and can only text to them. No customer service, no customer loyalty and only use the "statewide" increases, higher replacement costs (my vehicles are 7 and 18 years old so doubt they would replace), higher med. Costs (not up 40% in last 4 years and they only cover limited amt of medical on my policy) and inflation (not 40% over the last 4 years). No consideration for me being low risk and no claims. Just price gouging and I think it's a shame they are so poor at customer service.
We lost a family member in a tragic accident who was covered by Geico insurance. Geico insurance was made aware in a timely fashion and issued the estate a refund for the policy portion paid in advance. 8 months later we received a notice that the estate was being sent for collections for the past due ($84.00) account. We called and tried to explain the situation and were told the money was past due and needed to be paid. After going up the chain of command we finally were told that a death certificate needs to be sent and they will "send it to the underwriter " to see if this will suffice.
In my opinion I would look elsewhere for you insurance needs.
Based on previous experience everytime I make a modification to my auto policy such adding or removing coverage I am quoted a rate which is disputed by them later on. The quote I'm initially given is always lower than my statement when I receive later.
This has happened repeatedly over time. Smells like a scam?
I have been a Geico policy holder for many years.
We got hit by a car and the truth about Gaico started coming out. The liability was the other insurance in our case Travelers. The sad part is Gaico is not even willing to get us our rental refund. For over 4 month they told us they will reach out to travelers and get the refund then one day we found the case is closed.
Surprised as we were reached out again but one lady from the claim adjuster team told us nothing they can do and told us May be try to reach out to travelers.
No more Geico.
Geoic doesn't cover up full 100 percent amount OEM. Their phrase is likely to the OEM which is Aftermarket.
Geoic ISN'T CHEAP. Im paying 1700 dollars in 6 months for one car
They only covered up to 61 percent of the OEM. If you have expensive car. Do not chose them as insurance. NO, I DONT WANT AFTERMARKET. YOU NEED TO PAY FOR OEM PART THAT WAS ON THE CAR.
If you can afford better insurance GET BETTER INSURANCE. Geico customer service is terrible, they're uncaring, unapologetic when they make a mistake on their end, and they have "policies" for everything that "do not allow them to" correct or acknowledge their errors. Here's the specifics: since moving a year ago, from a city to a suburb, I updated my address literally 5 times (throughout the year I've lived here). Because they never officially changed the policy, I kept changing it again and again. After each request to change my address, I received an email with a link to follow to request a policy change. I did that a few times as well, continuously being sent through this same loop. Long story short, I overpaid Geico $2,600 (over 6 months as it is a 6mo policy). When they finally changed my address on my policy 11 months later, my bill literally decreased by $237 a month. I did not even want to renew my policy with Geico but they did so automatically, which is also frustrating because I wanted to discuss policy changes (address, cost etc.) prior to renewing. Because I had proof of this, I called customer service (with 5 confirmation emails proving I made these changes), however it didn't matter. They obviously refused to admit or correct this because it will cost them money. They are literally stating "our company policy doesn't allow us to do retroactive refunds for address changes" lol. Whenever they want to increase your policy rates they are on top of it and it occurs automatically, but the second it doesn't benefit Geico, they have all these restrictions on what they can do to amend and/or acknowledge their errors. I had a really bad experience recently with Geico (not because of the mistake itself but more specifically since they're unwilling to provide a refund to my account). I am now going to do some research and get quotes as I plan to cancel my policy this week (which by the way, they also dont care about). Please, if you can afford to, give your money to an insurance company who cares more for their customers. I guess it is true that "you get what you pay for". Also, if you do decided to go with Geico, make sure you verify EVERYTHING (even simple address changes). The address on your account (saying this is where you park your car now) apparently doesn't count as changing it on your policy itself. Do not use the link to change your policy as it clearly does not work, just call them to change it when you move. Moving out of the city and into a nearby suburb literally saved me $237/month so pay attention and dont trust them to inform you. Also get confirmation numbers, names, etc…when making such changes; then immediately go back to ENSURE the change (to your policy) was made. Good luck.
After getting rear ended GEICO told me the damage caused **in spot my car was hit** was not caused by the accident and refused to pay repairs. Also, they will and legally can refuse to pay a body shop's prices and charge you the difference. I do not know how their business is legal, but the cheaper prices you get by switching is not worth it even a little bit if you get in even a minor accident.
As a customer of 30+ years, angry and disappointed does not quite cover my feelings Geico, after an accident not my fault happened. Geico did nothing did not file against other driver and was quite happy to have me foot the bill as a no fault accident. I had to file against the other driver, prove he was lying (which I did), and handle the repair afterwards which when I complained about it because like the service I was getting at Geico was inferior. Geico responded with "It was my responsibility". They never came out and looked at the accident scene, looked at my car before or after repairs, nothing. So now I am stuck with a badly repaired car but a new insurance company (not Geico)
I am victim of a rear-end accident with a Geico policy holder. I was foolish enough to go to Service King, the auto body shop that had the earliest availability. Service King did repair the damage from the accident, but they caused some other damages to the car. Service King also left my car out in the sun for 2 weeks. When I got my car back, it was filthy!
I then proceeded to complain to the Geico adjuster. She did not respond at all. So, I filed a complaint, which another Geico representative responded. I told her there was no way I would take my car back to Service King because they would cause more damage. She responded that I assumed that was what was going to happen and that I was not willing to meet halfway to resolve the issue. Uhh, no, there was no way I was going to take another chance for my car to be damaged some more. If somebody damages my property, I am not going to let that somebody anywhere near my property again.
I owe geico an old balance from previous policy and they won't even work with me to collected it in 6 monthly payments with the new policy quote. Inflexible!
They are expensive. They do not have a review section. They don't care how long you have been with them. They don't waive small fee's for technical errors. Yes I am writing this because they won't waive a fee because of a technical error on my banks side. I have been with Geico for 10 months. I have not once missed a payment until today. I missed this months payment due to a technical error on my banks end. I was forced to pay a fee for my banks issue instead of it being waived. Not a major issue. But if a company won't work with you on small issues they defiantly will not on big issues. Think twice before you give this company any of your money.
I should have press charges against GEICO for what they almost did. I live in FL and at the same address for the last 10 years. I'm closing on a another home in Georgia on April 13th and today is March 30th, the day I called Geico. I told them I was going to close on a house in Georgia, gave them the address, and I had planned to drive one of my cars up there and leave it there permanently. They asked if the car registered in Georgia, i told them "no, I'll do that when I get it up there". I asked to know the premium difference. They calculated it, provided the quote, and I thought it was too high so I said okay nevermind, I'll have my significant other add this car to his policy up there. The agent proceeded to say that it's too late and that I've already declared my vehicle to be in Georgia. I immediately corrected that and said the car is not in Georgia, it's still here in Florida and will be for the next 2 weeks. This agent would not believe me! She kept saying I had admitted to it being in Georgia. It was purely insane! Knowing they record these conversations, I dared her to go listen to the recording and tell me where I said this car was currently in Georgia. She kept pushing back and said I had to prove I lived in FL by providing proof of utilities. She didn't ask to provide proof of utilities for Georgia (which I would have nothing to show because I don't live there yet!) but I had to prove I lived in FL?! I truly thought she was loosing her mind. I demanded to speak to a supervisor. She clicked to get a supervisor and was clicked over for a long time. I guarantee they were listening to the recording and I'm sure they realized I was telling the truth and was consistent in my story the entire time. She clicked back and said they would change it back after reading me a statement saying it's a felony to claim a vehicle is somewhere it's not. I immediately thought, Geico was committing a felony by not believing me. I could have pressed charges if I hadn't persisted
My vehicle received damage at some point. I didn't notice it until I went to fill it up. A vandalism is a 100 dollar deductible and a collision is a 500 dollar deductible. With no proof of a collision guess what their employee's final evaluation of the damage was? You guessed it, a collision. With no proof of a collision. It's just Joshua's opinion at geico. So if your claim is on the fence you can bet Geico will always put themself first over you.
Had an accident on January 4,2022. The claim has been handled very poorly. I can't get anyone to call me back. I have left several messages for multiple people and no one has called me back to attempt to explain this process to me. My car is at the collision center and has not been fixed. Geico has the worst customer service ever. At this point, I am thinking about getting an attorney to help with this property damage claim. People, please go elsewhere. My clams team consists of:
Melissa *******639
Sarah keenan *******633
Alyce turner *******337
Michael dewereff *******268
None of these people have attempted to call me back. This is the worst service I have ever received. I will be switching insurance companies within the week.
Answer: Yeah, I just did. They were there for me when I needed them even though I had only the minimum coverage.
