After this review someone contacted me and said they would switch my card back to the discount instead of rewards. Haven't tried it yet, so don't know if it worked or not.
I have had this card since it started and never had a problem. But I got gas yesterday, and did not get any discount. Instead I got CASHBACK rewards. I am not interested in shopping through Gas Buddy. I only had it to get the 5 cents off, which someone else said, won't work at Costco, so I don't use it all the time. Also, in the past, my total charge would show up in my wallet in the app in about 2 minutes. This time it took a whole day and then it just listed the price that I paid at the pump. This is stupid and I probably will not use it again.
Started getting emails from them about "my account". I'm not American, have never heard of them and don't want the spam, so they can bugger off. Highly unprofessional.
Not receiving any return emails, no credit issued to my account... STAY AWAY...
GASBUDDY is a scam, and its terrible that they work like this, I can use it at gas stations near me, just not SAMS CLUB, but I will never use again..
I have used the Gasbuddy card 2 times, the first transaction was fine, no problem.
The second time, used it around 3pm, I checked my card account, and come to find out, I was double charged, for the 3pm transaction, then again at almost midnight the same day. I know for a fact that I was not out getting gas at midnight, and the transaction amounts are identical. How bizare is this. I have been emailing Gasbuddy support for 2 weeks now, and no resolution has been made, after a week, I am no longer getting any responses, so I mailed the home office the emails and the transactions, waiting for a response... This is terrible... due to their fraudulent charge, I was charged overdraft charges from my bank... If you use this to save 5cents per gallon, be aware and watch your transaction history..
Went into site, 20 hours old was the best they could do. Total waste of time. At least delete prices from last night. Everyone knows prices go up in the morning...get with it gasbuddy.
Gasbuddy wake up... your spotter are just posting pricing to score points. They log in whatever the price w/o actually driving by the station and verifying pricing>
Offered trial membership $1.99 and immediately stole $5 from my checking account charging me a total of $6.99. I will have my bank reverse it... DO NOT TRUST THEM... they will rob you 2
It's not done by regular drivers anymore gas stations have their computers set up to cancel out anyone in their zip code selling gas for less than they are. It is turned into a joke
Gas buddy shows local Arco at $5.19. Updated 18 hours ago. Just drove by station and it's $6.29.No way it went up over a dollar in 18 hours. Dont waste Your time with this app.
Once a great App, Gas Buddy has made changes that make it useless. If you own a station, save your advertising dollars. I just took the App off my phone. A "1" rating = 0.
Tried using it to find gas in San Antonio. Not one if the places listed as having fuel, had fuel. Wasted my time and what little gas I had left on wild goose chases.
Haven't been able to pay at pump since day 1. No customer support to call. Emails back and forth are canned and useless. Do they not have live reps? Stupid and waste of time
I've Been A Gasbuddy For A Little Over Nine Years To Date Also On Average I've Reported At Least 30 Stations Daily. The Mileage I Covered Had Been 10-13 Miles Also Daily But Since The Update After Achieving 22.300 Points And Leader In My Area Gasbuddy Has Methodically And Systematically Taken All My Numbers Down Also Eliminated My 30 Day Reporting (Never Stopped) And Taken It Down Day By Day. I'm Graciously Quitting This Site And Only Advise Others Not To Waste Your Time, Gas And Mobile Data On This Frivolous Site..
Accurate prices no longer mean anything. It's all about awards and challenges. And using a smartphone app to text prices while driving. I can't imagine they'll survive.
I needed to redeem my points of $47 before they expired at the end of the month. So I went on Shop Your Way and "purchased" $46 worth of products. I hit check out and they charged my bank. I lost the $47 of redeemable points and to date no response to my inquiries as to why this happen and how do I get reimbursed. There is not a human to talk to. STAY AWAY FROM GAS BUDDY.
Useless. It is pretty sad when you put your Driver's License number into the Gas Buddy website to sign up and it gets rejected. INVALID! No Gas Buddy is invalid and whenever they permanently get shut down the internet will be a better place. If you want to know how to do EVERYTHING WRONG... join Gas Buddy! These people could screw up a "one car funeral." GAS BUDDY WOULD HAVE TO GET A 5 STAR BONUS TO RATE 1/2 STAR in performance! THE WORST! THE WORST! THE WORST! Why do they have something called Customer Service or Support when they respond to an email without giving ANY INFORMATION? Simple they are USELESS!
Was charged the exact same price as was on the pump. NO DISCOUNT AT ALL. I saved NOT A PENNY. And I drove out of my way to go to this station. I inserted my card as instructed and nothing... no savings.
I'm giving this one star not because I don't enjoy the benefits that I am receiving but when you have a question or a problem no one calls you back for the last 4 weeks I have left messages with no response back I even inbox them and got a response saying someone would get back to me soon 3 days now no response I hate to see if there was a real problem all as I'm trying to find out is about to referrals and to inform them they have a wrong gas station name but they don't seem to care and that's why the one star

Like other reviewers, I have used gas buddy consistently locally and on trips for years without complaint. That was up until the total app redesign. The y seem to have sold out with lots of advertisements and a woefully slow load time. It is far more complicated than it was or shoild be.
I have deleted it. PLEASE BRING BACK A GOOD GAS BUDDY!
Found no way to just get a discount on fuel. Inquiry was vaguely answered and required purchases of other things and another signup. Ended up losing all points unused. Would not recommend.
