Despite clear delivery window and instructions not to deliver outside that window, drivers show up whenever they want. I have repeatedly had groceries delivered at 7 am while I reserved 10-12. Food sits out and I spoiled. This business has lost its way with the employees doing what works for them, not for the customer.
Thought it was only me but I noticed that the "fresh" seafood I always order from them smell funky after cooking especially the shrimp. I think it's the fourth consecutive time. I had no problem with my first few orders until the first occurrence. Their customer support was also unresponsive.
I recently suffered a back injury making it difficult to shop. Fresh Direct was perfect for me. Their prices, for what I generally shop for, was the same as the grocery stores in my area. But best of all they delivered right to my door with several different delivery times.
I had an order with Fresh direct and I ordered 8 boxes of milk. I didn't check the expiration date and 10 days later the milk tasked bad, it expired 10 days later. I contacted the customer service and they worked out with me very nice, I received credit and will order again. I recommend this company without any reserve. Thank you!
The food and the delivery have generally been ok but the website is dysfunctional. It "hangs" or freezes, no matter the browser. You would think this would be a priority to them. The point of my ordering from Fresh Direct is to save time but at this point, it is probably faster to just walk over to the local grocery store rather than waiting for the frozen screen to load. This is an ONLINE service when the ONLINE part doesn't work.
Waited for my grocery order that was supposed to arrive by 9 am all day. Nothing. Tried to get into my account multiple times and couldn't. Took me 6 hours to get someone on the line to help me only to tell me that me account had been deactivated, and they didn't know why. So no groceries and I'm out $180. The guy couldn't give me a reason as to why it was deactivated. He didn't know, just said to get my bank on the line. Unbelievable. I don't know if I'll get my money back. Use a different grocery service.
Be aware that just by going on this website and signing up even before placing an order you will automatically be signed up for a subscription service! I went to the website on Tuesday, decided there was nothing I would like to order and went out of the website. The following day I saw a charge for over $67 on my credit card. I immediately called Fresh Direct *******663). They said they could not cancel "my" order as my order would be delivered in fewer than 5 days and they needed 5 days notice to cancel an order. I explained I never placed an order. They said their terms and conditions State that by signing up I was automatically going to receive an order. The order is to be delivered Sunday. I told them I'm not going to be home. They didn't care! Besides, I argued that if the order is supposed to be "fresh", how could they not cancel it? Unbelievable! DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS COMPANY! I am disputing the charge through my credit card.
Fresh Direct prepared foods are dangerous to consumers. Sulfites are not listed in product information. While Fresh Direct informs buyers that their kitchen uses shellfish, nuts, and other highly allergic ingredients, Fresh Direct no longer lists sulfites in the product information tab.They used to provide that information
My family had a reaction to the chicken salad because it has sulfites. I wouldn't recommend the product anyway since it was so salty it not fit for human consumption.
I tried to purchase a gift card for someone for Christmas, fill everything out and get to the payment page - put in my info and press submit... and not brought to the confirmation page. Press submit again, sure enough - not brought to the confirmation page again. Take a look at my bank statement and charged $100... with no gift card in hand. The kicker - I call FD and they say I never placed any order... and to call my bank to resolve the problem... never using FD again.
Seriously, FreshDirect.com has got to be the MOST WELL-DESIGNED website on the Internet! I love using their interface to shop for groceries. Unlike most websites, Freshdirect uses really clean, simple, tables and code. It's fast and doesn't require plug-ins to use. I find their food quality to be above average, not always perfect, but certainly higher quality than a "Shop Rite". The delivery people are clean-cut and professional. Items are always well packed, not crushed or dirty.
Two problems:
1. The prices are pretty high. Freshdirect is far more expensive than a trip to a major grocer.
2. Limited selection. Missing common brand-names and size selection is also limited. I've emailed them several times requesting "Marie Calender" frozen foods but they still don't carry any frozen dinners by this brand.
This company have no respects for their employees special driver. Management sucks, Jeff worst GM in history rude, and forcing the drivers to speed so they can $#*! up. Eric is little $#*!. I feel sorry for people who continue to work at this company.
Don't do it. The food was delivered late and went bad and I could not even eat it. Waste of money. I think it's safer to just pick out your own food because you never really know what you're gonna get with this
Driving instructor (Tony) threatened me on 3/2/17 because he's an ex boxer who doesn't take crap from students. I called the Cops on him and Fresh Direct fires me after the Cops leave. 60 % of the employees are Convicts and on Parole. Consumers deserve better. These Convicts enter your private homes. You must be Leary about this Company.
I placed my first order, and they screwed it up. I spent 1 hour 20 mins on the phone with an offshore idiot who told me my options, none of which were helpful. I closed my account immediately and wont be back. The whole experience was unpleasant, the website poor and the customer service didn't give me any options which helped me at all. If you want a stressful experience I suggest you try shopping here.
Having received a gift certificate from Fresh Direct, in the course of using it I entered a labyrinthine maze of double-talk and unauthorized deductions from my debit card/bank account. The people I spoke with on the phone were rude, did not want to honor the gift certificate, and the emails in response to mine deplorably stupid. Avoid this company. I'm still waiting, days later, for my bank account to be properly credited.
This used to be a great service, but not anymore. Ever since they changed location or went to their new site or whatever it is they called it... they are terrible. Last night I was lied to 3 times, wound up waiting for my groceries the entire day and then was told when my delivery time was close to coming to an end that they "were done for the night and had returned to the plant." And what do they want to give me for my aggravation? 20 bucks in credit... well they can take that credit and go jump in a lake with it. I am done... PLEASE people don't waste your time with Fresh Direct.
I was a regular customer when they first started. The store in my neighborhood closed so i thought i would start up again. Despite all of the on line offers and hectoring emails when i placed the or and the delivery failed they said the had no record. They insisted i had to use an old email. I suggested perhaps there was some one who could help it was impossible. No one would step into help. This was an effective service, no more.
I had a great experience buying from Fresh Direct. I ordered a small standing rib roast and some veal loin cutlets, which I cannot find locally. Everything arrived fresh and exactly when promised
The roast was beautiful, and priced competitively. The cutlets were also nice. But the cherry on top was the $50 off coupon, which is such a nice bonus.
I will definitely shop here again even without the coupon.
We just did our first order to try out the service. It came quickly, every item was correct, the little fresh produce we got was in perfect condition. Definitely we are going to try this again
Good collection, fair prices, fast delivery. They really have this thing gamed. I am confident there can be some problems with missed orders or other issues but each time we have ordered we got the whole thing on time and packed well. But some time they add a large fee to their already pricey product.
