As the mother of a child with type one diabetes, I have personally designed a team t-shirt for the JDRF One Walk. I'm NOT a designer or artist by any definition of the word! This year, due to an unusually hectic schedule, I decided to splurge and have someone design the tee for me. The Freelancer.com contest format seemed like a great idea. I paid $80 with the idea that I would have at least a few decent designs to choose from of the 30+ they said would be submitted. RESULTS: 79 entries submitted. Of the 79,23 had blatant copyright infringement (Minions and Pink Panther). Of the remaining 55 entries, 54 of them were either just writing or had nothing whatsoever to do with the theme (Example: a drawing of an astronaut, with no writing or anything to tie it to the theme. Another example: A quote about "Me and My Best Friend" with absolutely nothing to tie it to the provided theme.) I was left with one theoretically acceptable design, that I am now obligated to choose due to contest rules. However, the one 'acceptable' design is not one I would spend hundreds of dollars on to print team t-shirts, so I will be cramming tonight to design something on my own. A total waste of $80. I do NOT recommend this site or their contest format.
I had a great conversation with Antoinette B. She's fast and efficient. She knows what to do and handles my concern very well.
We have face difficulty on facing a un cooperated freelancer who do not want to send us the final video to us. And forcing our company to pay before they sent. It is violate the freelancer rule.
But luckily, the service of Freelancer.com is really direct and instantly. They help us to get our rights on the contract and make a fair action here to against any bad situation.
We highly recommend to use freelancer.com as a middle man and make international freelancer trade to be a honest platform.
Nice job! Thanks Troy!

My first job, was illegal - I was horrified because I wasn't told the details until after I accepted. The woman from your department was great and reimbursed my funds to me.
Someone posted an offer for btc transfer,
He needed BTC worth 540usd. I replied and in turn he gave me project immediately,
He made the payment- which appearnt in my account and i transferred btc to his account.
Then after a while i found OUSD in my account because Freelancer banned the buyer and return his funds back,
In the end i had a loss as i made a contact with their support team latter on but they refused to help saying they had returned the money back to buyer and banned his account,
I asked them why dont they bane btc buyers directly but they apologized
Their support team sucks and be aware of btc SCAMMERS on Freelancer.com
NEVER EVER BID ON BTC PROJECTS on FREELANCER.COM
Thank you for giving me the chance upwork denied me! You are a blessing for creative people in third world countries
I've used Freelancer.com for more than a couple of years and unfortunately it is one of my least trusting platforms for several reasons. First of all, there's a lot of unwanted micro-transactions going on -- taking a small amount of each credit card you enter in order for "verification"; a lot of currency conversions during the process of getting credit (usually, it goes through 3 conversions with bad conversion rates that are unavoidable); so many limitations that appear as favorable opportunities behind a payment to the site (ex: tests, not able to bid higher priced projects without a paid-membership, etc.). They should stick to only the commissions they get from projects and the promotions like the other sites, not numerous, petty methods to profit from freelancers. The second reason I cannot recommend the site is because I feel that they are posting fake high budget projects in order to lure freelancers into paying for a premium membership. I think these are fake because these projects do not contain any information (even a job description) and are posted almost every week or so. Lastly, customer service and moderation is very bad. Theres been an issue of a freelancer posting fake projects almost everyday for a prolonged period without ever awarding the projects which I believe is to steal unreleased original musical compositions (either to get inspiration from or to steal outright), but theres been no moderation even after a few of us have reported it. Another issue is the bad platform which never seems to improve. Notifications button (and sometimes the message tab) is always lit for weeks after everything is checked. Need huge improvements if to thrive in the future.
Thanks Bailey E for taking care of my issue and getting it resolved! I appreciate the details that you took care of.
I was interviewed immediately by someone named Mr. Sparks, who then immediately turned me over to an IM HR person on Google Hangouts for a live IM interview. The desperation seemed a little strange but then it got weirder. The interviewer was typing like a bot: wouldn't answer my questions, would instead just type copy-pasted blurbs from the website. His email address was also ending *******@gmail.com rather than a professional email address. After answering a few questions, I asked him why I felt like I was talking to a bot. He literally said "Bot? This is an act of professionalism. Understood?" This was the biggest red flag, the rude tone. I left the online interview. If you're going to use this website, please be careful whom you talk to and be mindful of how they are communicating with you and treating you.
It takes long time to connect to the CUStomer support, they keep us waiting in queue, then asks to fll up a form so that they will contact us but they never contact us. But once you are in the chat with CS, they assist you very well.
Answer: It is a PR platform that enables scammers to appear legitimate or verified. Freelancer doesn't care. They get a sizeable commission no matter if the posting is legitimate or not. Example: A fake ebook listing. Needs author to write 50000 words for US$ 2000. Unwitting freelancer bids and is 'awarded project' with message saying hurry up and accept. Once accepted, freelancer takes 'project fee' while you get tied up in their help callcenter trying to recoup not only the fee but potentially the fake employer gleaned from you using their platform. This site will be in the news soon. Trust me.
Answer: Hi Dejan. This happened to me in 2014, I lost a lot of money too, I withdrew the money on a Wednesday after the client had paid me $1000 in full. Then the next day, Thursday, I got a message that my withdrawal request was cancelled and the money reversed back to employer. My account was suspended and when I asked why, I was told that the employer looked like he was fraudulent and that the money might be fraud. Up to date, I am still bitter, angry and sad over that $1000 but I never got it back and Freelancer closed the person's account and that was that. So I hope this answers some of your questions and I am deeply sorry for your loss after such hard work. All the best
Answer: Freelancer.com focused on employer only, they just want as many employer and project as they can regardless of their country, verification status and deposits. However all the restriction is for employee. This is the reason Freelancer didn't stop them to post project without deposit. Almost 90% projects are fake (either posted by freelancer itself or fake/fraud employers). You have to be careful. Keep following things in mind will prevent you from fraud much. 1. Don't work for Employers from India/Bangladesh/Sri Lanka/Nigeria/Israel 2. Don't work for Employers whose name looks like Indian 3. Once the project is awarded to you, don't accept it unless the employer created initial milestone. Wait for at least 12 hours after milestone creation then accept it. 4. Ask for release step by step, don't work on next milestone unless previous is not released 5. Withdraw money from freelancer as fast as you can.
Answer: You can't say its fake but at the same time you can't just trust it fully. My point here is: people do get things done for the price but when it comes to money/payment, you can not trust freelancer. Sometimes it gets reversed from your account and you won't even get a satisfactory reason for it. I suffered a loss of 900 USD. All I get to hear that employer had some account issues and we can not disclose this any further. If you looking to work as a freelancer, go odesk or upwork and any other site first and then freelancer.com. Small incident: I worked for a client, designed the logo got the parent for it. Next day when looged in, my account showed negative balance ( payment reversed). Support: employer have acc. Issues Client: never came back or responded to any mails. Result: I worked and still in debt.
Answer: Dispute it with PayPal! Another beautiful example of why everyone hates Freelancer.
Answer: Freelancer is scam. I have very bad experience recently. "The payments you've received from your employer "-----------" were reversed due to their account issues. As a result, their account was closed" Lost over 800$. Freelancer also keep the fee for this job! Their support never answer. SCAM
Answer: Agree, do not use credit card details - freelancer is a terrible organisation when it comes to finances - they just debit your card at will, no warning, no opportunity to review the transaction, no notification of the charge - you just find out once you get your bank statement. Be very, very wary of this company - not saying their dodgy, BUT they are very devious when it comes to transactions. I think their motto is - "debit any time, just don't tell them and they wont complain"
Answer: Contact Paypal and file a dispute. I got a refund for the monthly amount that they should not have charged me for.
Answer: Good afternoon Rostyslav, unfortunately this has happened to most users of Freelancer including people who have been awarded projects. Ensure that you do not start any work or event accept a project until the following criteria have been met: 1. Project awarded 2. Initial milestone/deposit created 3. Client agrees to release the first payment immediately after you accepting the project. If they are unable to do this, tell then politely that you are unwilling to start on the project and keep looking for honest, legitimate clients. Be careful at all time on this website, even if you do vey thing by the book and the client still doesn't pay, the Freelancer support team will not help you. It is left to you to contact the client and chase the payment even of they delete their account.
Answer: Don't share you card. Use Paypal. First of all don't use freelancer they are scammers.
