I was concerned about the legitimacy of two projects that I was offered, without having bid on them, in the same day. They were from two different employers but appear virtually the same in description of the work and the business that was hiring. Antoinette was so helpful and patient since I am so new at this. Also, she sent me a very useful article about potential scams and assured me that I was looking for help in the right place. Thanks again, Antoinette!
It was not a bad experience. Deana R. Was thorough with her help. The response was quick. I'm very happy with how they handled my request.
Josie is great, helped me a lot to resolve my financial issues quickly. Her manner is so professional and her word is so warm and kindly.
I highly appreciate support she gave me.
Thank you Josie :)
I am a freelance who is now seriously taking freelance one month pro membership offer and verified my payment method and their was a little validation issue. I give them my bank report and ask them to validate my account they reply within hour and i am impressed with their quick response and inter department communications which even not as effective with even PayPal and many other companies
Willard Cipris has assist me in well manner, and he has given satisfactory replies.
Whatever issues i was having, willard has given positive answer.
Great Work!
I spoke with the one of the customer support executive with the name of Kendra and she was an amazing to help me with my queries. She helped me to cancel the contest and returned back my money in my account. She has also suggested for an extension to get better design however that option wasn't useful for me but she helped precisely. 5 start for Kendra and surely recommended.
She politely helped me with my questions. Thanks for that! Very appreciated!
She helped m with some issues aboutb freelancer policies.
The support was all fine. I got my money back. One more happy customer. Have a nice day ahead. The text with 100letters it to long.
Brenda is very helpful and highly professional as well. I really appreciate her efforts to solve mine problem.
Brenda was helpful and nice. She checked all details and explained my dispute with a client. I understood the issues well and she continued my member's plan
I had some concerns about scam on site, and Marina answered my question so fast and she was very helpful. I listened to her advise and soon resolved my issue
Don't use Freelancer.com - although perhaps not a scam in the traditional sense, it is designed to extort money from honest freelancers trying to make some cash!
When I joined they asked for a Paypal account simply to 'verify my identity' but then proceeded to withdraw fees automatically without my knowledge or permission.
After doing this for 3 months, Freelancer.com suddenly decided they needed more information from me in order to 'verify my identity' (again!) before they would release the money I had earnt on their site to this same Paypal account. It seems very suspicious to me that they can automatically withdraw funds from Paypal when it involves fees they get from their freelancers, but to release funds the freelancers are entitled to suddenly is a 'security risk'. Sounds pretty dodgy to me.
After six weeks of requesting sms 'security' codes which they supposedly sent but never arrived and getting a series requests for additional information from Freelancer.com which is fine, but seems to me to be delaying tactics so they don't have to release my money to me, I still haven't recieved my funds.
Do not use this site if you want to actually earn money through freelancing.
Fast and proactive support. Willard gave suggestions that made my contest better without asking him.
Thank you Willard.
Good Response getting and Problems are getting solved. Sometimes It is late to get in touch with the support in Chat but still If its urgent we mail and get the response over there. Thanking you.
I spoke with Brenda and then she transferred me through to Kathie. If Kathie does what she promises to do (ie give me a refund one week from today) then I'm happy if not I would like to request an opportunity to change the recommendation... this is why I'm giving it a tentative 3/5 for the moment (you'll get a 5 if I get all my money back as this has been a terrible experience for me)... I've learnt my lesson anyway - stay away from freelancer it seems to be full of people who don't actually want to do any work.
We get wonderful support whenever we in need. So keep helping us. And give us the chance of freelance freely.
Thank you very much, I got my account, it is very appreciated for me. I would like to prefer tips to get huge jobs.
I had struggles with a designer, and the support team offered me great help. I can recommend Freelancer.
I was worried that my contest wasnt getting enough traction though I had guaranteed it. They then gave me a 7 dya contest extension and Top contest status for free. All in worth more than 150 bucks? Though my contest was only 350$.
Awesome!
Answer: It is a PR platform that enables scammers to appear legitimate or verified. Freelancer doesn't care. They get a sizeable commission no matter if the posting is legitimate or not. Example: A fake ebook listing. Needs author to write 50000 words for US$ 2000. Unwitting freelancer bids and is 'awarded project' with message saying hurry up and accept. Once accepted, freelancer takes 'project fee' while you get tied up in their help callcenter trying to recoup not only the fee but potentially the fake employer gleaned from you using their platform. This site will be in the news soon. Trust me.
Answer: Hi Dejan. This happened to me in 2014, I lost a lot of money too, I withdrew the money on a Wednesday after the client had paid me $1000 in full. Then the next day, Thursday, I got a message that my withdrawal request was cancelled and the money reversed back to employer. My account was suspended and when I asked why, I was told that the employer looked like he was fraudulent and that the money might be fraud. Up to date, I am still bitter, angry and sad over that $1000 but I never got it back and Freelancer closed the person's account and that was that. So I hope this answers some of your questions and I am deeply sorry for your loss after such hard work. All the best
Answer: Freelancer.com focused on employer only, they just want as many employer and project as they can regardless of their country, verification status and deposits. However all the restriction is for employee. This is the reason Freelancer didn't stop them to post project without deposit. Almost 90% projects are fake (either posted by freelancer itself or fake/fraud employers). You have to be careful. Keep following things in mind will prevent you from fraud much. 1. Don't work for Employers from India/Bangladesh/Sri Lanka/Nigeria/Israel 2. Don't work for Employers whose name looks like Indian 3. Once the project is awarded to you, don't accept it unless the employer created initial milestone. Wait for at least 12 hours after milestone creation then accept it. 4. Ask for release step by step, don't work on next milestone unless previous is not released 5. Withdraw money from freelancer as fast as you can.
Answer: You can't say its fake but at the same time you can't just trust it fully. My point here is: people do get things done for the price but when it comes to money/payment, you can not trust freelancer. Sometimes it gets reversed from your account and you won't even get a satisfactory reason for it. I suffered a loss of 900 USD. All I get to hear that employer had some account issues and we can not disclose this any further. If you looking to work as a freelancer, go odesk or upwork and any other site first and then freelancer.com. Small incident: I worked for a client, designed the logo got the parent for it. Next day when looged in, my account showed negative balance ( payment reversed). Support: employer have acc. Issues Client: never came back or responded to any mails. Result: I worked and still in debt.
Answer: Dispute it with PayPal! Another beautiful example of why everyone hates Freelancer.
Answer: Freelancer is scam. I have very bad experience recently. "The payments you've received from your employer "-----------" were reversed due to their account issues. As a result, their account was closed" Lost over 800$. Freelancer also keep the fee for this job! Their support never answer. SCAM
Answer: Agree, do not use credit card details - freelancer is a terrible organisation when it comes to finances - they just debit your card at will, no warning, no opportunity to review the transaction, no notification of the charge - you just find out once you get your bank statement. Be very, very wary of this company - not saying their dodgy, BUT they are very devious when it comes to transactions. I think their motto is - "debit any time, just don't tell them and they wont complain"
Answer: Contact Paypal and file a dispute. I got a refund for the monthly amount that they should not have charged me for.
Answer: Good afternoon Rostyslav, unfortunately this has happened to most users of Freelancer including people who have been awarded projects. Ensure that you do not start any work or event accept a project until the following criteria have been met: 1. Project awarded 2. Initial milestone/deposit created 3. Client agrees to release the first payment immediately after you accepting the project. If they are unable to do this, tell then politely that you are unwilling to start on the project and keep looking for honest, legitimate clients. Be careful at all time on this website, even if you do vey thing by the book and the client still doesn't pay, the Freelancer support team will not help you. It is left to you to contact the client and chase the payment even of they delete their account.
Answer: Don't share you card. Use Paypal. First of all don't use freelancer they are scammers.
