I had a fantastic experience with the freelancer support staff. They were not only prompt in responding to my queries but also incredibly helpful. Whenever I encountered any issues or needed assistance, they guided me through the process with patience and professionalism. It's reassuring to know that their support is just a message away.
Spoke with Kevin R and he was more than helpful and made it a very smooth conversation. He not only resolved my problem in a timely manner but also directed me on where to go if i had any more questions.

5 Star reviews are generated by their customer support, freelancer.com knows that their ratings are 2 Stars and work every cheating angle to improve rating, not the website/services - this says everything
Currently in minus 120$ for 2 projects, because freelancer.com rules allow employer to f**k a freelancer, meanwhile the freelancer has 0 input to the process, unless you say something that can be used against you.
You will not know about the problems of the website, until you encounter well-hidden unfair rules.
Most of the users are duplicate accounts, fake projects to lure (limited) bids and to encourage membership sales.
I signed up for Freelancer.com without doing very much research, as it *seemed* on the up-and-up, but a few minutes after logging on, auto-scripts were creating fake projects for me, mass-bidding of freelancers was taking place and the site was trying to take payments from my CC/Paypal (which I had wisely not entered yet) and demanding payment. The site even requires a $5 payment to delete these fictitious "projects" the auto-script creates - can you believe it? I just closed my laptop and will never, ever, ever log onto Freelancer.com again.
It was insane, and this site is the absolute worst on the Internet. Had I entered a credit card or Paypal account, I would probably be out hundreds or even thousands of dollars just for logging onto the site a single time. How a company can pull a fraud scam like this is insane and I cannot believe it is still online.
Stay far away and do not even create an account or their auto-scripts will have you in the poor house.
As a new freelancer on Freelancing Platform, I faced a challenge that required support from the platform's team. They responded promptly and showed a great deal of understanding. With their assistance, the issue was resolved quickly, leaving me immensely grateful for their exceptional support. I now feel more confident and look forward to continuing my freelancing journey with them. Highly recommended!
For me, I used to call PayPal as a family because they're always on my back. Honestly, they do much better than most of the large banks here in my country Jordan! It's the sad truth.
After this experience with you, and what I heard from Anthony B. And Jamie,, I can't call you anything but my true family in this messy world.
I do apologize for the lack of trust when I sent to Paypal before contacting you. I really mean it but I wanted things to go fast and I found you're way faster than what I've expected and *******% professional in such a money matter.
Thanks again, I'm really glad to be one of your community. Wish you all the best and being safe all the time.
Shocking experience. Got ripped $66 for a $25 job. Just heard that the person who did the job hasn't got paid. Have laid several complaints. No response. Next step is get freelancer blacklisted with PayPal!
I can't possibly be any happier with support from freelancer.com; honestly they are swift and always helpful. I have just ended a conversation with Donald G., and I'd say it's another relieving talk once again.
Got good tech skill? Then earning online is not tough. Freelancer is the right choice. Appreciate support team and recruiters. Also the policies are framed with proper ethics. Overall great and reliable experience so far
I had a very supportive and welcoming process on Freelancer while becoming verified. It is required to complete a video call with one of the team to answer questions about yourself and your skills. I had a very lovely and kind staff member who was very easy to talk too and was able to organise a session very promptly after i applied for the verify flag. She also answered some queries for me and provided links to supporting documentation when i raised concerns about some non valid projects on the site. This really helped reduce my concerns about starting to work on Freelancer which is a new chapter in my career. I really appreciate this level of customer service from an organisation like Freelancer.
They charge you for commission fees before you get paid! With that being said, there are a lot of employers! Who offer jobs only to new comers. Since new comers have no idea what is going on, they would accept the project and as a result, they get charged a non refundable commission fee by freelancer, what happens next? Employer disappears! NEVER accept any project before receiving milestone and beware of rip offs when you are trying to withdrawal. A word to the wise, don't waste your time and money! Stay away from this website.
I had inquiry on my account balance where monthly dormant account fee was taken until my balance turns 0! But Jessica B., Freelancer General support, assisted me on refunding the fee again. I am also being explained about how accounts that have not logged in for six months will incur a maintenance fee of up to $10 USD per month until either the account is terminated or reactivated, which explains why my balance was deducted until it turns 0 as I last logged into the account was during 2017. So please ensure your account remain active to avoid this from happening. Again, thanks Jessica for helping me! Thanks Freelancer Support team!
I am at a loss to know why my computer suddenly won't load anything associated with Freelancer, with the description of "Cannot Find Server" for some unknown reason. I don't know why today is different from the last 5 years or so when I've had no problem. The Freelancer Support crew are on the job though with fast communication via the chat option on the FL site (via my wife's computer as mine won't connect!), & hope to have me back up & running again asap.
I referred 2 relatives to join and one using my paypal account to register because he didn't have one, then freelancer limited all our accounts and frozen my financial deposit because it suspected we are related! To verify identity, one action is to hold two ID and verification code in front of a camera and take a photo. I think it is very insulting. After 7 years hiring on freelancer.com I had enough of it and I am finished with this bad company. Really bad customer service and treat customers like criminals.
I was having problem with one of my ex-employer (it turns out it's a scam project) and Robyn from the support team explains everything to me and giving me advice in taking Freelancers' projects. Thank you, it's been really helpful and I'm glad I asked.
It was great. She moved in right track it means questions were under the boundary of the subject. I think she didn't miss anything what there is need to verify a freelancer. Simply said, she got completely my carrier history. Her approach was so good.
My experience with freelancer has been nightmare. I was awarded project by 4 employers 4 different projects they released the money after work done i put money withdrawal request into my account after 2 days they reversed all money to employer and closed their accounts saying they violated freelancer terms. Now why should i have suffered in this all i worked for them they paid as simple as that.
Please stay away from this fraud and scam website if you want to loss your money you can go for it.
I got one contacted me saying you need to do all banking transaction for me from your bank account. Fool its money laundering if he is having company why not company account or why not account in his name. They don't have employer verification. And for bidding they want to get paid extra. Pathetic All these online project providers are same they dont give any projects or classes just want to take us premium member ship and invest for their business like fools.
A certain amount of money has been removed from my account. Not only was I given a full explanation and solution when I discussed it, but I was also credited with some money as a courtesy.
Answer: It is a PR platform that enables scammers to appear legitimate or verified. Freelancer doesn't care. They get a sizeable commission no matter if the posting is legitimate or not. Example: A fake ebook listing. Needs author to write 50000 words for US$ 2000. Unwitting freelancer bids and is 'awarded project' with message saying hurry up and accept. Once accepted, freelancer takes 'project fee' while you get tied up in their help callcenter trying to recoup not only the fee but potentially the fake employer gleaned from you using their platform. This site will be in the news soon. Trust me.
Answer: Hi Dejan. This happened to me in 2014, I lost a lot of money too, I withdrew the money on a Wednesday after the client had paid me $1000 in full. Then the next day, Thursday, I got a message that my withdrawal request was cancelled and the money reversed back to employer. My account was suspended and when I asked why, I was told that the employer looked like he was fraudulent and that the money might be fraud. Up to date, I am still bitter, angry and sad over that $1000 but I never got it back and Freelancer closed the person's account and that was that. So I hope this answers some of your questions and I am deeply sorry for your loss after such hard work. All the best
Answer: Freelancer.com focused on employer only, they just want as many employer and project as they can regardless of their country, verification status and deposits. However all the restriction is for employee. This is the reason Freelancer didn't stop them to post project without deposit. Almost 90% projects are fake (either posted by freelancer itself or fake/fraud employers). You have to be careful. Keep following things in mind will prevent you from fraud much. 1. Don't work for Employers from India/Bangladesh/Sri Lanka/Nigeria/Israel 2. Don't work for Employers whose name looks like Indian 3. Once the project is awarded to you, don't accept it unless the employer created initial milestone. Wait for at least 12 hours after milestone creation then accept it. 4. Ask for release step by step, don't work on next milestone unless previous is not released 5. Withdraw money from freelancer as fast as you can.
Answer: You can't say its fake but at the same time you can't just trust it fully. My point here is: people do get things done for the price but when it comes to money/payment, you can not trust freelancer. Sometimes it gets reversed from your account and you won't even get a satisfactory reason for it. I suffered a loss of 900 USD. All I get to hear that employer had some account issues and we can not disclose this any further. If you looking to work as a freelancer, go odesk or upwork and any other site first and then freelancer.com. Small incident: I worked for a client, designed the logo got the parent for it. Next day when looged in, my account showed negative balance ( payment reversed). Support: employer have acc. Issues Client: never came back or responded to any mails. Result: I worked and still in debt.
Answer: Dispute it with PayPal! Another beautiful example of why everyone hates Freelancer.
Answer: Freelancer is scam. I have very bad experience recently. "The payments you've received from your employer "-----------" were reversed due to their account issues. As a result, their account was closed" Lost over 800$. Freelancer also keep the fee for this job! Their support never answer. SCAM
Answer: Agree, do not use credit card details - freelancer is a terrible organisation when it comes to finances - they just debit your card at will, no warning, no opportunity to review the transaction, no notification of the charge - you just find out once you get your bank statement. Be very, very wary of this company - not saying their dodgy, BUT they are very devious when it comes to transactions. I think their motto is - "debit any time, just don't tell them and they wont complain"
Answer: Contact Paypal and file a dispute. I got a refund for the monthly amount that they should not have charged me for.
Answer: Good afternoon Rostyslav, unfortunately this has happened to most users of Freelancer including people who have been awarded projects. Ensure that you do not start any work or event accept a project until the following criteria have been met: 1. Project awarded 2. Initial milestone/deposit created 3. Client agrees to release the first payment immediately after you accepting the project. If they are unable to do this, tell then politely that you are unwilling to start on the project and keep looking for honest, legitimate clients. Be careful at all time on this website, even if you do vey thing by the book and the client still doesn't pay, the Freelancer support team will not help you. It is left to you to contact the client and chase the payment even of they delete their account.
Answer: Don't share you card. Use Paypal. First of all don't use freelancer they are scammers.
Hi, Que. This is why we always advise the users, employers and freelancers alike, to be careful in awarding and accepting projects. It is also best to discuss the project requirements directly with the other party before starting the work.
