I don't know why people are rating Freelancer.com negatively. I have worked for a few people who hired me through Freelancer, and it has worked out very well. The milestone payment system ensures you get paid and contractors do not run away with your money. It is when people try to avoid paying money to the website and arrange to get paid through Paypal etc. directly that problems can arise.
The support team is pretty prompt with replies, though there have been times they could no resolve technical trouble I had with the website...
I would recommend Freelancer.com as a good place to find work online.
The rate for freelancer.com is a NEGATIVE *******0000
They verified my account several times but again suspended it right after i intended to transfer my earning out of freelancer. You see, after working so hard on that site they won't let me to have my money. They are real thieves.
Avoid this freak site as much as you can and never deal with them. They are bunch of scammers who don't respect people's time and effort. They take your money either you are employee or employer.
I asked for a manual transfer of my money from Freelancer even if the withdrawal was set for the next 2 days. Without further due, Sandra went on to help me out, and she was kind enough to let me know she was working on it after just 3 minutes of wait, while other agents in my experience waited 10 minutes without saying anything. I really think that Freelancer.com should hire a lot more good people like Sandra T.! Please give her a raise. And Sandra, thank you and I hope you continue to be as kind with other Freelancers during your experience on this job. Good luck.
Dana O. Answering with question how splendid for one chat support person. So far i'v received an information that i'll get an automatic change of withdrawal method after i get my new payoneer card in euros (current is in dollars). So far good but still not satisfied.
Great opportunities for freelancers on this platform. The frequency of new projects is really good and there are also large projects and genuine employers. Freelancer staff is also supportive in resolving any kind of queries. I just connected with Joey C. And he provided needful help to receive my Verified badge.
Great service. They handled my issue super quick. Even though it was a dispute about moneys, they took care of it in a timely matter. All I am currently waiting is on the payment department to review and send the money back.
Thank You So much for understanding and considering my situation, being new to this, I was not aware of the scams. But, now i am. I would be more cautious from now onward. Above all, your consideration and kind help is appreciated.
Since joining Freelancer I have had only one or two questions as everything is laid out so clearly on the site. At these times I have used the 'Live Chat feature, where I bumped into 'Antoinette B' - She was so awesome and fast at providing me with comprehensive answers that leave me feeling totally comfortable working within the parameters of Freelancer. Thanks A. B., you rock!
I would like to give this website 0 ratings but unfortunately there is no option to do.
They deserve $#*!. My freelancer account got closed by the team of freelancer they said they can do anything with my profile, what the foolish reason they did.
Please read:--
"We may close, suspend or limit your access to your Account without reason. "
Someone tell me if there any way to write a complaint against them? I know i am not single person who got same thing by them. Here is list of users
They always eaten money thats it,
This platform is very Insecure for services providers. I worked on a programming + web design project which took me two months to complete it. After the employer had released milestones and payments. After Freelancer.com deducted their commission, its staff refused to let me withdraw my share of that hard-earned money. Reason: They were trying to verify the employer's identity. (this employer completed 77 projects in the past.) Every time I talked to them, they would send an email and request that employer to upload some documents. The employer never bothered to respond to those emails. Its been almost two months and I'm still struggling to get my money and they are still asking me to wait and wait for an indefinite experience. Check some screenshots of my chats with their support
Nice explaining and in detail,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
Update: After I complained to the freelancer team, the CSR told me: "Use this link to close your account" (see attached image). So, that's the amazing support they give when they are tired of you.
Its easy to be ripped off by a client. They can easily cancel a paypal transaction after payment and they get the refund back. What does freelancer do about it? They don't lose, oh no, they don't. They take the money from their account, including fees, even when you already paid for them...
The chat support is managed by malasyan punks, they dont really care about CS and barely solve your issues.
Hi, Javier. We understand your sentiments and we apologize for any inconvenience. Please understand that we are bound to comply with the rules as well. We assure you that we are continuously coordinating your employer about the payment. Should you have queries, do not hesitate to contact us again. Thank you and take care!
It was a great experience of mine having conversation. At first I was in doubt but later when she started asking question that thing comforted me and later on everything goes well. I personally give more than 5 stars to her in terms of professionalism & Communication.
Its a wonderful experience to have a chat with Ms. Chelsea for verified freelancer. We discussed my travel with freelancer.com from the day I enrolled till date. The questions raised by her are clear and apt.
Have used the platform for now 2 months, a lot of opportunities available. Got a chance to serve 2 clients so far and looking forward to expanding my client base and work. Prompt supportive staff too who are always ready to help and offer guidance especially from Joey C. Thank you.
It was good chat and we came to a compromise. Had great assistance from Josie who helped me out.
Now can we please get rid of this system of minimum 100 characters, makes people not want to leave a rating behind -.-
Freelancer.com finally agreed to my same documents I submitted before and did release my money. Credit goes to Sitejabber.com indeed, in propagating voice like us for an honest cause and help innocent freelancer/s like me from being cheated by such silly portal.
Initially I had a bad impression with this platform due to some major setbacks. However, Sir Ashton. D. Was really able to make things better! He professionally resolved all of my issues which I really appreciate.
Had a pleasant discussion about my goal to become verified with Freelancer. The interview was cordial and thorough with their questions. They focused on my past experience and current skills. If you want access to larger jobs, I do recommend this route.
I am so glad freelancer team help me in my case. I'm satisfied with the fastest job, the officer itself, and everything is perfect. If anyone have problem, don't hesitate to contact customer service. They'll help you sincerely. Thank you so much
Answer: It is a PR platform that enables scammers to appear legitimate or verified. Freelancer doesn't care. They get a sizeable commission no matter if the posting is legitimate or not. Example: A fake ebook listing. Needs author to write 50000 words for US$ 2000. Unwitting freelancer bids and is 'awarded project' with message saying hurry up and accept. Once accepted, freelancer takes 'project fee' while you get tied up in their help callcenter trying to recoup not only the fee but potentially the fake employer gleaned from you using their platform. This site will be in the news soon. Trust me.
Answer: Hi Dejan. This happened to me in 2014, I lost a lot of money too, I withdrew the money on a Wednesday after the client had paid me $1000 in full. Then the next day, Thursday, I got a message that my withdrawal request was cancelled and the money reversed back to employer. My account was suspended and when I asked why, I was told that the employer looked like he was fraudulent and that the money might be fraud. Up to date, I am still bitter, angry and sad over that $1000 but I never got it back and Freelancer closed the person's account and that was that. So I hope this answers some of your questions and I am deeply sorry for your loss after such hard work. All the best
Answer: Freelancer.com focused on employer only, they just want as many employer and project as they can regardless of their country, verification status and deposits. However all the restriction is for employee. This is the reason Freelancer didn't stop them to post project without deposit. Almost 90% projects are fake (either posted by freelancer itself or fake/fraud employers). You have to be careful. Keep following things in mind will prevent you from fraud much. 1. Don't work for Employers from India/Bangladesh/Sri Lanka/Nigeria/Israel 2. Don't work for Employers whose name looks like Indian 3. Once the project is awarded to you, don't accept it unless the employer created initial milestone. Wait for at least 12 hours after milestone creation then accept it. 4. Ask for release step by step, don't work on next milestone unless previous is not released 5. Withdraw money from freelancer as fast as you can.
Answer: You can't say its fake but at the same time you can't just trust it fully. My point here is: people do get things done for the price but when it comes to money/payment, you can not trust freelancer. Sometimes it gets reversed from your account and you won't even get a satisfactory reason for it. I suffered a loss of 900 USD. All I get to hear that employer had some account issues and we can not disclose this any further. If you looking to work as a freelancer, go odesk or upwork and any other site first and then freelancer.com. Small incident: I worked for a client, designed the logo got the parent for it. Next day when looged in, my account showed negative balance ( payment reversed). Support: employer have acc. Issues Client: never came back or responded to any mails. Result: I worked and still in debt.
Answer: Dispute it with PayPal! Another beautiful example of why everyone hates Freelancer.
Answer: Freelancer is scam. I have very bad experience recently. "The payments you've received from your employer "-----------" were reversed due to their account issues. As a result, their account was closed" Lost over 800$. Freelancer also keep the fee for this job! Their support never answer. SCAM
Answer: Agree, do not use credit card details - freelancer is a terrible organisation when it comes to finances - they just debit your card at will, no warning, no opportunity to review the transaction, no notification of the charge - you just find out once you get your bank statement. Be very, very wary of this company - not saying their dodgy, BUT they are very devious when it comes to transactions. I think their motto is - "debit any time, just don't tell them and they wont complain"
Answer: Contact Paypal and file a dispute. I got a refund for the monthly amount that they should not have charged me for.
Answer: Good afternoon Rostyslav, unfortunately this has happened to most users of Freelancer including people who have been awarded projects. Ensure that you do not start any work or event accept a project until the following criteria have been met: 1. Project awarded 2. Initial milestone/deposit created 3. Client agrees to release the first payment immediately after you accepting the project. If they are unable to do this, tell then politely that you are unwilling to start on the project and keep looking for honest, legitimate clients. Be careful at all time on this website, even if you do vey thing by the book and the client still doesn't pay, the Freelancer support team will not help you. It is left to you to contact the client and chase the payment even of they delete their account.
Answer: Don't share you card. Use Paypal. First of all don't use freelancer they are scammers.
