Freelancer.com is thief group.
They have gotten and get, will get huge unearned income by limiting and suspending accounts of freelancers/clients.
In according to analyze recent a month, Freelancer.com limited about 2000 freelancer/client accounts and stole their balance/fund of 100 thousands dollars.
Please secede from this dirty website asap if you don't want to lose your money.
As a new member of this community I had a questions about money transfer to freelancer and Janine P. Helped me quickly and friendly to understand how it works. Thank you very much for your kindest help.
Katie was very professional and helpful. This site was recommended to me by a friend and since I've never worked with these type of platforms I had many questions about how the site works, the process after biding on a project, payments, security, etc. For now, all my questions were answered, but I may have some more later on. Thank you.
Its not good. I have been working from years and have completed over 250+ jobs, 5/5 rating. Just because of one client fake complained. Someone hired, taken work and paid me and given me 5/5. So after few days they said support, we want refund as we didn't receive anything total fake/liar.
Then Freelancer.com even didn't ask me to refund or anything discuss, they just sudden my account and steal funds from my account. So i requested them that its only Freelancer.com we are working and relying please accept apology and let us work to become better with experience but they saying same stupid things, sorry we have no option, account closed by administrators this and that.
I still hope, if they understand man learn from mistakes.
Many companies can build an online platform - like Freelancer did - but not many can pull off the Customer Service side! That requires more than a few programmers and angel investors. I have been working with Freelancer for several years and today they surprised me - yet again - with a superb customer service experience. Well Done Freelance-Team! Wish you all great Success!
I had an issue with my account details, and Criselda helped me solve the problem. She is very professional at her work.
This personnel has proven again that this platform is made up of highly competent individuals. Phoebe is such a unique, responsive, relational, and helpful person. I am grateful, you were the one I met. Thanks really appreciate.
I am a customer. Before yesterday they closed my account without any explanation... When I wrote to the support - i have got the email that I have violated their rules with this link. They didn't even explained which rule I have violated or what I have done at all... I have 2 open projects there with 2 different employees and they are waiting for money which I can't pay now because my account is closed and my money is stolen... So SCAM! The worst experience ever...

It was good experience with freelance i would like to suggest company to provide some demo video and I see few fraud clients getting our details asking us to pay deposit amount kindly look into such accounts.
Excellent service and quality first to solve my problem. Thank you very much. I hope everyone will take this example as a sample of quality work and all people who use the service can enjoy it. Greetings.
I recently spoke with Freelancer.com staff (Russell V.) and wanted to express my appreciation. The representative was knowledgeable, patient, and provided clear solutions promptly. Their professionalism was commendable. Overall, I'm grateful for the excellent service. Thank you.
I have very nice experience with Freelancer. The only thing that bothers is that Freelancer stuff sends me random Recruiter projects - 9 out of 10 are not related to my language pair which is English-Russian. So several times a day receive offers to bid for Japanese, Chinese, Italian, etc projects. This just takes away my time. Can you please deal with this while still letting me stay a Preferred Freelancer?
As I've been working for short time on this website, it has a lot of opportunity for jobs. Why is my rating only 4 stars, it's because of high fees and so many fake projects which usually beginners fell of on those frauds. The great thing about freelancer.com is security and community.
I've been on the site for many years and sadly their services are going downhill. They seem more interested in making money than on providing a good user experience. They seem more keen on attracting new members with an increasingly flashy interface, rather than retaining loyal members who have been with them from the very beginning.
I would not recommend this site to my worst enemy. I am already looking at other alternative Freelancing sites to sign up on.
I'm not sure if I'm supposed to review Freelancer as a whole, or just the most recent interaction I had with a Freelancer support representative. For this, I'm going the latter.
Anyway, something happened that usually doesn't - but it did - because, well, me. I clicked in the wrong spot to set milestones, so the developer agreed to decline, and I then found the right way to do it. A small dumb, no biggie.
Anyway, Elijah from support was on the case straight away. Once I briefly clarified my situation, we parted with pleasant salutations, and then all was good again.
I was half-expecting a bot, but it seems that Freelancer have actual people reaching out to people if they appear to need help.
So, I would just like to reiterate that freelancer support is pretty good.
My first time the designer quoted me higher price than initial then tried to get upfront all the money even before accepting my project. Freelancer has many hidden charges and make it difficult for you to get refunds withdraw your deposit and close your account all of which they charge you for doing. The design services are mostly outsourced to India even though many designers showing a USA flag in their profile. Don't trust this service.
Why do the never man their chat room? I have lodged 2 tickets for support over 1 week ago and they never respond to me.
Pretty much worst customer service I've come across in a long time. Very disappointing and will never use again. In fact I'll make it my mission to bad mouth Freelancer to everyone I know, unless I get some assistance and a resolution on my matter.
Hello, Kieran. This is Lara and I am from Freelancer.com. Kindly refer to ticket ID KBL-728-82581 regarding your concern. Thank you and take care.
Hello everyone.
www.freelancer.com this website cheating their clients with many hiding fees. As they call "Third party fee" or "Processing fee". Which is not indicated during the payment. You may find this only in transaction history, after they cheated you. And there is no money refund for such kind of an action. Recommend everyone complain them, also through a Paypal
They show to clients one amount but in fact deduct other (much high). Dont recommend you to use this website to anyone
Russell V. conducted my Freelancer ID verification interview earlier today 13 Sep 2023. It was nice speaking with her. From beginning to end she assisted me well. She handled everything nicely and I will give 5 stars for her clear communication and her politeness. Thank you Russell.
Chelsea was more than professional and pleasant to talk too. Even if most of my communication is done through chat, she really made it easy for me.
This experience gave me courage to do more video calls with clients.
And thanks to the Freelancer for all the opportunities that I get by working on my dream job as an illustrator.
Answer: It is a PR platform that enables scammers to appear legitimate or verified. Freelancer doesn't care. They get a sizeable commission no matter if the posting is legitimate or not. Example: A fake ebook listing. Needs author to write 50000 words for US$ 2000. Unwitting freelancer bids and is 'awarded project' with message saying hurry up and accept. Once accepted, freelancer takes 'project fee' while you get tied up in their help callcenter trying to recoup not only the fee but potentially the fake employer gleaned from you using their platform. This site will be in the news soon. Trust me.
Answer: Hi Dejan. This happened to me in 2014, I lost a lot of money too, I withdrew the money on a Wednesday after the client had paid me $1000 in full. Then the next day, Thursday, I got a message that my withdrawal request was cancelled and the money reversed back to employer. My account was suspended and when I asked why, I was told that the employer looked like he was fraudulent and that the money might be fraud. Up to date, I am still bitter, angry and sad over that $1000 but I never got it back and Freelancer closed the person's account and that was that. So I hope this answers some of your questions and I am deeply sorry for your loss after such hard work. All the best
Answer: Freelancer.com focused on employer only, they just want as many employer and project as they can regardless of their country, verification status and deposits. However all the restriction is for employee. This is the reason Freelancer didn't stop them to post project without deposit. Almost 90% projects are fake (either posted by freelancer itself or fake/fraud employers). You have to be careful. Keep following things in mind will prevent you from fraud much. 1. Don't work for Employers from India/Bangladesh/Sri Lanka/Nigeria/Israel 2. Don't work for Employers whose name looks like Indian 3. Once the project is awarded to you, don't accept it unless the employer created initial milestone. Wait for at least 12 hours after milestone creation then accept it. 4. Ask for release step by step, don't work on next milestone unless previous is not released 5. Withdraw money from freelancer as fast as you can.
Answer: You can't say its fake but at the same time you can't just trust it fully. My point here is: people do get things done for the price but when it comes to money/payment, you can not trust freelancer. Sometimes it gets reversed from your account and you won't even get a satisfactory reason for it. I suffered a loss of 900 USD. All I get to hear that employer had some account issues and we can not disclose this any further. If you looking to work as a freelancer, go odesk or upwork and any other site first and then freelancer.com. Small incident: I worked for a client, designed the logo got the parent for it. Next day when looged in, my account showed negative balance ( payment reversed). Support: employer have acc. Issues Client: never came back or responded to any mails. Result: I worked and still in debt.
Answer: Dispute it with PayPal! Another beautiful example of why everyone hates Freelancer.
Answer: Freelancer is scam. I have very bad experience recently. "The payments you've received from your employer "-----------" were reversed due to their account issues. As a result, their account was closed" Lost over 800$. Freelancer also keep the fee for this job! Their support never answer. SCAM
Answer: Agree, do not use credit card details - freelancer is a terrible organisation when it comes to finances - they just debit your card at will, no warning, no opportunity to review the transaction, no notification of the charge - you just find out once you get your bank statement. Be very, very wary of this company - not saying their dodgy, BUT they are very devious when it comes to transactions. I think their motto is - "debit any time, just don't tell them and they wont complain"
Answer: Contact Paypal and file a dispute. I got a refund for the monthly amount that they should not have charged me for.
Answer: Good afternoon Rostyslav, unfortunately this has happened to most users of Freelancer including people who have been awarded projects. Ensure that you do not start any work or event accept a project until the following criteria have been met: 1. Project awarded 2. Initial milestone/deposit created 3. Client agrees to release the first payment immediately after you accepting the project. If they are unable to do this, tell then politely that you are unwilling to start on the project and keep looking for honest, legitimate clients. Be careful at all time on this website, even if you do vey thing by the book and the client still doesn't pay, the Freelancer support team will not help you. It is left to you to contact the client and chase the payment even of they delete their account.
Answer: Don't share you card. Use Paypal. First of all don't use freelancer they are scammers.
