The agent that was assigned: Erwin C.
He addressed my concerns in a professional and clear way which improved my freelancer.com experience. It's amazing how available they were and responded immediately.
Antoinette was able to resolve my issue in not only a timely but understanding manner - kudos!
She took on board what I was asking and got it straight away unlike another consultant who took over an hour and still kept regurgitating please refer to website crap
Antoinette - Super Star!
I have found completing projects on freelancer very challenging and satisfying. The way disputes and problems are dealt with does depict a certain level of sincerity. However, in the event of being cheated by an employer, freelancer's "reversal payment" policy is extremely infuriating! Both the scammer and freelancer seem to collaborate in depriving one of hard earned money.
It happened to me and I'll never forget, I have been greatly discouraged from reporting any scammers I may have encountered since my sad experience.
They charge money for anything and everything! I can't believe they charged me $40 for deleting some old entries that I had on the website. I was just trying to clean up my dashboard area so that it can look cleaner. Now who charges money to delete any old entries? This is never heard of ever in my life!
Because they do such fraudulent activities, they don't have a customer service phone number and you can only chat with them. Chatting takes forever to convey and come to a resolution! A 5 mins call takes 1.5 hours. STAY AWAY FROM THEM!
They compensate any misadventure from employer so it's a good plate form for freelancers please just follow their instructions and step forward to a better career.
Thank you freelancer for everything.!
Freelancer is a platform where you can learn new things while earning few extra bucks. It s a great platform to showcase one's expertise.
Another good thing about freelancer is the great support system and customer service.
For example I have spoken to Katie R. She was very helpful in resolving my issues promptly.
This website is a scam, full of bogus jobs, and the worst customer service one could ever imagine. I asked for my account to be closed on 20 April, now they are taking out membership money without my authorisation. An absolute bunch of frauds, and should be shut down.
While freelancer did eventually refund the money taken without authorisation, it was an utterly painful process, that took a very long time to get fixed. Still warn people to not use this service, and stay away!
It has helped me find some clients although currently I'm mostly working directly for others. Nevertheless, beware of fake clients who want to rip you off. Don't send any advances unless you have received some funding in advance.
As a grant proposal writer, I'm working on this "Grant Writer for EduContent Biz" project. Since the project has been delivered, I found a problem that my client is unresponsive. Immediately, I decided to contact with freelancer stuff, and Andrei M. Was the professional who assisted me professionally, and promptly. I highly recommend to him.
Recently, I've made a first withdrawal request on freelancer.com, and it took a few days to verify. Since I decided to talk with the stuff, I found a someone who has the ability to reach out for my needs. Jayce L, is awesome.
I've have some issue with a deduction from my account. It was my fault without knowing accepting projects on freelancer platform. But help desk agent her name was Celestine D chat with me and instantly reverse the payment after understanding the scenario. I would say it was the best customer service I've ever got from a foreign site. Gave me some tips how to handle such situations in future. Finally thanks again for your humble support.
One thing I really love about the Freelancer portal is that they have an awesome service! You do need to be a bit careful while assigning a project to Freelancers as not always you get great quality. However even if you face issues, their support team will be happy to resolve.
Highly recommended!
Hello,
I finally was able to verify my identity although I applied many times. However, I am satisfied with the experience because I realized that this process is for our security as freelancers and users. Thank you all.
I don't need to write very long because it was a perfect support experience in a word.
He/She read my questions and problems carefully and responded, his/her answers were the proof of how understanding he/she is.
Thank you...
Zero support. Zero communication. I still haven't been paid. They nickel and dime you for every possible service ($5 to take an English proficiency test!) Chat support (when you can actually get through) is all canned answers.
Stick with Upwork, Freelancer is shady.
Had some initial difficulties and frustrations with service, however support staff worked through with me and were helpful that turned into a positive experience making me feel more inclined to explore using their service further rather than quitting on the idea straight up.
I have asked lots of favors on freelancer.com support team by live chat. Whenever I need it, they kindly replied within 1 min, tried to do their best to resolved all of my concerns. I'm listing their names here:
Erwin,
Antoinette,
Dana,
Florence...
Thank you a lot freelancer.com!
I had a helpful chat session with Mason D. He understood the issue quickly and helped me in the most generous way. If ever I look for freelancing jobs again, I am definitely coming back to freelancer.
I mistakenly signed up for the freelancer annual membership, rather than the monthly. Mason came to my rescue, as a one-time courtesy, and he handled the reversal in just two minutes. I'm so grateful. Thank you, Mason!
Hey... This site started as cool, But their naivety didn't allow them to operate as big business. It's full of broken workflow and poor user experience.
This ship should sink as soon as possible which will make the freelancing world a better place.
Hi, Nehemiah. We thank you for your continued support and concern for the site. We really appreciate it. We can assure you, though, that we are continuously doing our best to improve the site to give our users the best online workplace. Again, thank you and take care!
Freelancer.com is thief group.
They have gotten and get, will get huge unearned income by limiting and suspending accounts of freelancers/clients.
In according to analyze recent a month, Freelancer.com limited about 2000 freelancer/client accounts and stole their balance/fund of 100 thousands dollars.
Please secede from this dirty website asap if you don't want to lose your money.
Answer: It is a PR platform that enables scammers to appear legitimate or verified. Freelancer doesn't care. They get a sizeable commission no matter if the posting is legitimate or not. Example: A fake ebook listing. Needs author to write 50000 words for US$ 2000. Unwitting freelancer bids and is 'awarded project' with message saying hurry up and accept. Once accepted, freelancer takes 'project fee' while you get tied up in their help callcenter trying to recoup not only the fee but potentially the fake employer gleaned from you using their platform. This site will be in the news soon. Trust me.
Answer: Hi Dejan. This happened to me in 2014, I lost a lot of money too, I withdrew the money on a Wednesday after the client had paid me $1000 in full. Then the next day, Thursday, I got a message that my withdrawal request was cancelled and the money reversed back to employer. My account was suspended and when I asked why, I was told that the employer looked like he was fraudulent and that the money might be fraud. Up to date, I am still bitter, angry and sad over that $1000 but I never got it back and Freelancer closed the person's account and that was that. So I hope this answers some of your questions and I am deeply sorry for your loss after such hard work. All the best
Answer: Freelancer.com focused on employer only, they just want as many employer and project as they can regardless of their country, verification status and deposits. However all the restriction is for employee. This is the reason Freelancer didn't stop them to post project without deposit. Almost 90% projects are fake (either posted by freelancer itself or fake/fraud employers). You have to be careful. Keep following things in mind will prevent you from fraud much. 1. Don't work for Employers from India/Bangladesh/Sri Lanka/Nigeria/Israel 2. Don't work for Employers whose name looks like Indian 3. Once the project is awarded to you, don't accept it unless the employer created initial milestone. Wait for at least 12 hours after milestone creation then accept it. 4. Ask for release step by step, don't work on next milestone unless previous is not released 5. Withdraw money from freelancer as fast as you can.
Answer: You can't say its fake but at the same time you can't just trust it fully. My point here is: people do get things done for the price but when it comes to money/payment, you can not trust freelancer. Sometimes it gets reversed from your account and you won't even get a satisfactory reason for it. I suffered a loss of 900 USD. All I get to hear that employer had some account issues and we can not disclose this any further. If you looking to work as a freelancer, go odesk or upwork and any other site first and then freelancer.com. Small incident: I worked for a client, designed the logo got the parent for it. Next day when looged in, my account showed negative balance ( payment reversed). Support: employer have acc. Issues Client: never came back or responded to any mails. Result: I worked and still in debt.
Answer: Dispute it with PayPal! Another beautiful example of why everyone hates Freelancer.
Answer: Freelancer is scam. I have very bad experience recently. "The payments you've received from your employer "-----------" were reversed due to their account issues. As a result, their account was closed" Lost over 800$. Freelancer also keep the fee for this job! Their support never answer. SCAM
Answer: Agree, do not use credit card details - freelancer is a terrible organisation when it comes to finances - they just debit your card at will, no warning, no opportunity to review the transaction, no notification of the charge - you just find out once you get your bank statement. Be very, very wary of this company - not saying their dodgy, BUT they are very devious when it comes to transactions. I think their motto is - "debit any time, just don't tell them and they wont complain"
Answer: Contact Paypal and file a dispute. I got a refund for the monthly amount that they should not have charged me for.
Answer: Good afternoon Rostyslav, unfortunately this has happened to most users of Freelancer including people who have been awarded projects. Ensure that you do not start any work or event accept a project until the following criteria have been met: 1. Project awarded 2. Initial milestone/deposit created 3. Client agrees to release the first payment immediately after you accepting the project. If they are unable to do this, tell then politely that you are unwilling to start on the project and keep looking for honest, legitimate clients. Be careful at all time on this website, even if you do vey thing by the book and the client still doesn't pay, the Freelancer support team will not help you. It is left to you to contact the client and chase the payment even of they delete their account.
Answer: Don't share you card. Use Paypal. First of all don't use freelancer they are scammers.
