Talking with Barry during the Freelancer verification process was smooth and reassuring. He was professional yet approachable, making the entire procedure feel straightforward and stress-free. Barry explained each step clearly, answered questions with patience, and ensured that I understood the requirements before moving forward. His friendly tone and supportive guidance created a comfortable environment, turning what could have been a complicated process into a simple and positive interaction. By the end of our conversation, I felt confident that my account was verified correctly and appreciated the efficiency and care Barry brought to the experience.

Margaux replied quite fast and directed me on the next step to take and he asked if I had further issues he could help me resolve.
Thank you for the great conversation today — it was truly a pleasure speaking with you. I appreciate the time you took and the support you provided throughout the process.
I'll be happy to share my feedback through the links you sent.
Please also extend my thanks to Mr. Barry for his help and guidance.
Thanks again for everything!
Very good. Joan attended mi requirement efficiently.
I made a mistake and released funds without verifying the recipient and then panicked. The work was for my GF's Christmas gift. Carson (support rep) understood and immediately assisted me and was able to pull back the release, and gave me instructions on the best way to proceed to avoid scams.
I will only use Freelancer in the future. Having a company prioritize it's customers and be empathetic and provide information and assistance is amazing. This is so uncommon in this new era, and I am floored.
Simple and straightforward process to get verified freelancer. Special thanks to Barry for the help till the end of process and clearing doubts.
It was a good conversation; all the questions corresponded to the subject well, and when I needed some time for the answers or actions, Barry gave it to me. So, I was very glad to talk to him, and I hope that on his side there are also good impressions.
It was a nice pleasure to have support regarding my membership plan and payment method verification issue, which is very helpful for me to understand the matter easily, and it will help me to try again to have a membership plan after my payment method verification. Thank you for your warm and friendly support.
The most person solved my problem until now, and i am waiting him/her to solve my big problem about the person cheated me, thanks Margaux
I had forwarded two cases, one of which was resolved in time, and I really appreciate this. Looking for another to be solved.
The popup for verified freelancers wrote verify for 0€ and upon clicking I got charged 90€. When I contacted support they simply said it is non refundable. This is unacceptable as it is a fault of the platform for now showing the price from the beginning
I had the opportunity to complete my verification process with Barry, and the experience was smooth, quick, and very professional. Thank you, Barry, for your support and clear guidance throughout the process.
"This person only gives false promises. I contacted him twice, and both times he said the same thing but did absolutely nothing."
My experience with Freelancer.com has been excellent. The platform is easy to use, and finding projects and communicating with clients has always been smooth. I also highly recommend getting verified through the platform—my verification was done by Barry, and the process was extremely simple and stress-free. He was professional, clear, and made the entire experience quick and easy. Overall, I'm very satisfied with the service and the level of support provided.
Amarisse was incredibly quick to help me address a concern with a scammer who popped up on the site again after ruining a project of mine a couple of months ago. Thank you to all you Freelancers for all you do to look out for us and to do it speedily, and with great attitudes as well!
Barry conducted an excellent review, demonstrating professionalism, dedication, and attention to detail throughout the process. What was most commendable was his commitment—he carried out the review thoroughly without considering the time of day, even extending into the night to ensure every aspect was properly assessed.
Its usually hard to have a decent experience with any tech support nowadays, but Ava was exactly how it should be. Clear, helpful and taking ownership of the problem.
I had a great experience during my verification interview with Russell V. He was professional, polite, and made the entire process smooth and comfortable. He clearly explained each step, asked relevant questions, and ensured everything was verified properly. It felt like a genuine conversation rather than a formal interrogation. I really appreciate the courteous and professional approach — thank you, Russell!
Answer: It is a PR platform that enables scammers to appear legitimate or verified. Freelancer doesn't care. They get a sizeable commission no matter if the posting is legitimate or not. Example: A fake ebook listing. Needs author to write 50000 words for US$ 2000. Unwitting freelancer bids and is 'awarded project' with message saying hurry up and accept. Once accepted, freelancer takes 'project fee' while you get tied up in their help callcenter trying to recoup not only the fee but potentially the fake employer gleaned from you using their platform. This site will be in the news soon. Trust me.
Answer: Hi Dejan. This happened to me in 2014, I lost a lot of money too, I withdrew the money on a Wednesday after the client had paid me $1000 in full. Then the next day, Thursday, I got a message that my withdrawal request was cancelled and the money reversed back to employer. My account was suspended and when I asked why, I was told that the employer looked like he was fraudulent and that the money might be fraud. Up to date, I am still bitter, angry and sad over that $1000 but I never got it back and Freelancer closed the person's account and that was that. So I hope this answers some of your questions and I am deeply sorry for your loss after such hard work. All the best
Answer: Freelancer.com focused on employer only, they just want as many employer and project as they can regardless of their country, verification status and deposits. However all the restriction is for employee. This is the reason Freelancer didn't stop them to post project without deposit. Almost 90% projects are fake (either posted by freelancer itself or fake/fraud employers). You have to be careful. Keep following things in mind will prevent you from fraud much. 1. Don't work for Employers from India/Bangladesh/Sri Lanka/Nigeria/Israel 2. Don't work for Employers whose name looks like Indian 3. Once the project is awarded to you, don't accept it unless the employer created initial milestone. Wait for at least 12 hours after milestone creation then accept it. 4. Ask for release step by step, don't work on next milestone unless previous is not released 5. Withdraw money from freelancer as fast as you can.
Answer: You can't say its fake but at the same time you can't just trust it fully. My point here is: people do get things done for the price but when it comes to money/payment, you can not trust freelancer. Sometimes it gets reversed from your account and you won't even get a satisfactory reason for it. I suffered a loss of 900 USD. All I get to hear that employer had some account issues and we can not disclose this any further. If you looking to work as a freelancer, go odesk or upwork and any other site first and then freelancer.com. Small incident: I worked for a client, designed the logo got the parent for it. Next day when looged in, my account showed negative balance ( payment reversed). Support: employer have acc. Issues Client: never came back or responded to any mails. Result: I worked and still in debt.
Answer: Dispute it with PayPal! Another beautiful example of why everyone hates Freelancer.
Answer: Freelancer is scam. I have very bad experience recently. "The payments you've received from your employer "-----------" were reversed due to their account issues. As a result, their account was closed" Lost over 800$. Freelancer also keep the fee for this job! Their support never answer. SCAM
Answer: Agree, do not use credit card details - freelancer is a terrible organisation when it comes to finances - they just debit your card at will, no warning, no opportunity to review the transaction, no notification of the charge - you just find out once you get your bank statement. Be very, very wary of this company - not saying their dodgy, BUT they are very devious when it comes to transactions. I think their motto is - "debit any time, just don't tell them and they wont complain"
Answer: Contact Paypal and file a dispute. I got a refund for the monthly amount that they should not have charged me for.
Answer: Good afternoon Rostyslav, unfortunately this has happened to most users of Freelancer including people who have been awarded projects. Ensure that you do not start any work or event accept a project until the following criteria have been met: 1. Project awarded 2. Initial milestone/deposit created 3. Client agrees to release the first payment immediately after you accepting the project. If they are unable to do this, tell then politely that you are unwilling to start on the project and keep looking for honest, legitimate clients. Be careful at all time on this website, even if you do vey thing by the book and the client still doesn't pay, the Freelancer support team will not help you. It is left to you to contact the client and chase the payment even of they delete their account.
Answer: Don't share you card. Use Paypal. First of all don't use freelancer they are scammers.
