I've been waiting for my withdrawal to be processed since the first time. I had to wait about 15 days, but after it was verified, six days passed, and it still hasn't been released. I contacted customer support; her name is Olivia. She told me that my request was canceled due to an invalid account number and that I needed to resubmit the withdrawal request. I asked if I would have to wait another 15 days, and she said she could help remove the delay for the next submission. The same day, I resubmitted the request. I asked the customer support again, referring to our previous chat, and right after I closed the chat, it was verified. Thanks, Olivia, this 5-star review is for you
Max T provided me with excellent support. He patiently listened to all my concerns and gave clear, prompt answers to every question. His professional and friendly approach made the entire process much easier for me. Without his assistance, I probably wouldn't have gotten a solution so quickly. I truly appreciate his service and look forward to reaching out to him again whenever I need help. Thank you, Max T, and best wishes to you.
The Customer server agent Nicola was very straightforward and easy-going. The service was quick, no misunderstandings, and not only helped me with the problem but she's fixed the problem! Keep it up!
It was a pleasure to join the Preferred Freelancer Program with the help of Jonny. We had a productive discussion about my area of expertise and, most importantly, the program itself. I'm pleased to finally be a member of the PFP.
Hey Jake, I just wanted to say a big THANK YOU for all your help with this withdrawal issue. Seriously, I really appreciate you taking the time to guide me through it. Your support means a lot, and I'm super grateful to have you helping me out! Thanks again, buddy! You're the best. Cheers,
Chathurya
I've been working as a Verified and Preferred Freelancer on the platform, and the experience has been great. The onboarding was smooth, the support from the team—especially Jonny—was clear and helpful, and being part of the Preferred Freelancer Program has helped me connect with quality projects that match my skills. Highly recommend it for serious freelancers!
Max. T was super helpful and quick to respond. He solved my issue smoothly and professionally. Great support. Thank you!
Extensive list of freelancers in different fields. Milestone creation and payments procedures are straightforward. However, there are two key elements that destroy the user experience for clients trying to retain freelancers:
- the platform's feature that create bids automatically for freelancers is deceptive at best. Freelancers have bid created under they name for a price that they will not honor.
- there is not a repository or drop box where freelancers can put their actual bids for the client to compare, review and choose. You end spending hours and days in chat and back-and-forth discussions with freelancers to come with a number of actual proposals from whom you can actually choose from.
Thank you for sharing your detailed feedback, Noel. We appreciate you highlighting both the positive aspects and areas for improvement. Your concerns regarding the automatic bid feature and the repository for freelancer proposals have been forwarded to the relevant team for review.
Really helpful Xavier B. From (Freelancer Support) Client Support. Five star rating for the support offered by Xavier B (customer support representative).
The manager(Jake S.) gave me many kinds of supportive advice and information even though I asked about same thing several times.
He was so kind and nice during the inquiry, thank you! 👍
I have contacted customer support. Within 20 minutes, they have resolved my issue. I am very thankful to an individual 'Nicola', who supported me.
Leopold understood the issue instantly and redressed it promptly. He was professional and courteous.
Jonny, guide me perfectly about the PFP programs, and he is a great person to talk with, and I will be hoping that he will guide me like this in future as well if I require anything.
Jonny was very helpful in recruiting me and guiding me through the onboarding process for the preferred Freelancer program. They were quick to answer questions and were extremely accommodating. 10/10
The SLA Freelancing onboarding activity was well-structured, informative, and highly engaging. It provided a clear understanding of the platform's expectations, procedures, and professional standards. The session helped me gain valuable insights into how to present myself effectively to clients, manage tasks efficiently, and maintain strong communication. I appreciate the practical guidance and real-world examples shared throughout the activity, which made the experience both enriching and motivating. Looking forward to applying these learnings to grow successfully on the platform. Special thanks to Danette, he provided the information in easy way. Thanks
The team was incredibly helpful, responsive, and knowledgeable. Their support made the entire process smooth and stress-free. Highly recommended!
The experience was good, Nice and polite conversation with Russell V, he is very supportive during the verification call.
Hope was very proffesional and quick to respond in the support chat. She answered directly and in full detail.
Answer: It is a PR platform that enables scammers to appear legitimate or verified. Freelancer doesn't care. They get a sizeable commission no matter if the posting is legitimate or not. Example: A fake ebook listing. Needs author to write 50000 words for US$ 2000. Unwitting freelancer bids and is 'awarded project' with message saying hurry up and accept. Once accepted, freelancer takes 'project fee' while you get tied up in their help callcenter trying to recoup not only the fee but potentially the fake employer gleaned from you using their platform. This site will be in the news soon. Trust me.
Answer: Hi Dejan. This happened to me in 2014, I lost a lot of money too, I withdrew the money on a Wednesday after the client had paid me $1000 in full. Then the next day, Thursday, I got a message that my withdrawal request was cancelled and the money reversed back to employer. My account was suspended and when I asked why, I was told that the employer looked like he was fraudulent and that the money might be fraud. Up to date, I am still bitter, angry and sad over that $1000 but I never got it back and Freelancer closed the person's account and that was that. So I hope this answers some of your questions and I am deeply sorry for your loss after such hard work. All the best
Answer: Freelancer.com focused on employer only, they just want as many employer and project as they can regardless of their country, verification status and deposits. However all the restriction is for employee. This is the reason Freelancer didn't stop them to post project without deposit. Almost 90% projects are fake (either posted by freelancer itself or fake/fraud employers). You have to be careful. Keep following things in mind will prevent you from fraud much. 1. Don't work for Employers from India/Bangladesh/Sri Lanka/Nigeria/Israel 2. Don't work for Employers whose name looks like Indian 3. Once the project is awarded to you, don't accept it unless the employer created initial milestone. Wait for at least 12 hours after milestone creation then accept it. 4. Ask for release step by step, don't work on next milestone unless previous is not released 5. Withdraw money from freelancer as fast as you can.
Answer: You can't say its fake but at the same time you can't just trust it fully. My point here is: people do get things done for the price but when it comes to money/payment, you can not trust freelancer. Sometimes it gets reversed from your account and you won't even get a satisfactory reason for it. I suffered a loss of 900 USD. All I get to hear that employer had some account issues and we can not disclose this any further. If you looking to work as a freelancer, go odesk or upwork and any other site first and then freelancer.com. Small incident: I worked for a client, designed the logo got the parent for it. Next day when looged in, my account showed negative balance ( payment reversed). Support: employer have acc. Issues Client: never came back or responded to any mails. Result: I worked and still in debt.
Answer: Dispute it with PayPal! Another beautiful example of why everyone hates Freelancer.
Answer: Freelancer is scam. I have very bad experience recently. "The payments you've received from your employer "-----------" were reversed due to their account issues. As a result, their account was closed" Lost over 800$. Freelancer also keep the fee for this job! Their support never answer. SCAM
Answer: Agree, do not use credit card details - freelancer is a terrible organisation when it comes to finances - they just debit your card at will, no warning, no opportunity to review the transaction, no notification of the charge - you just find out once you get your bank statement. Be very, very wary of this company - not saying their dodgy, BUT they are very devious when it comes to transactions. I think their motto is - "debit any time, just don't tell them and they wont complain"
Answer: Contact Paypal and file a dispute. I got a refund for the monthly amount that they should not have charged me for.
Answer: Good afternoon Rostyslav, unfortunately this has happened to most users of Freelancer including people who have been awarded projects. Ensure that you do not start any work or event accept a project until the following criteria have been met: 1. Project awarded 2. Initial milestone/deposit created 3. Client agrees to release the first payment immediately after you accepting the project. If they are unable to do this, tell then politely that you are unwilling to start on the project and keep looking for honest, legitimate clients. Be careful at all time on this website, even if you do vey thing by the book and the client still doesn't pay, the Freelancer support team will not help you. It is left to you to contact the client and chase the payment even of they delete their account.
Answer: Don't share you card. Use Paypal. First of all don't use freelancer they are scammers.
Thank you so much for sharing your experience and for the fantastic 5-star review, Angel! That's prompt service indeed. We've passed along your kind words to Olivia as well—she truly appreciated your gesture as much as we did. 😃
