Never before have I had such a terrible experience with a site. In 7 orders I have managed to have only one delivered without being cancelled by the seller at the last minute.
There is some form of scam happening here, but I am not clear on what it is just yet. Is it run by Fiverr themselves in order to hold money in an account because as a buyer you cannot get you rmoney back that is already spent and in this way Fiverr is hoping that people will walk away from their $5 or more... I can only assume that is what Fiverr is doing and apparently making a fortune from it.
Or can someone else tell me what the true scam here is and the interest for sellers to take orders and cancel them at the last minute? - I can only see that Fiverr is doing this to line their pockets.
One the most dishonest company on planet, do not believe any words they say, I had issue with my website development order, they said there is 14 days grace period, my $#*!! They wasted my two weeks on issue and in the end ripped me off with $16USD. They are absolutely dishonest and there to make their fee not to look after customers. Stay away and use a better platform then Fiver!
As a seller you risk not getting paid. No matter how much effort you put in, the buyer can cancel their credit card or Paypal charge and Fiverr will not file an appeal to the credit card company. Instead they say "we didn't get paid either" even though as if that makes it alright that you wasted hours. Then as a buyer if you get subpar work there is no way to force the seller to fix it. Seems like it is all about Fiverr maximizing their money and providing little in terms of customer service.
Honestly I don't know what's wrong with sellers on fiverr.
I needed a website in short terms, contacted seller, he gave me custom order and I have agreed to pay whatever he requested. Timeline 2 days for 1 page website, 5 days later its not ready. Seller tells me to cancel the order and order again so it will give him more time to finish and not get into a trouble for late delivery. That's what I did, and guess what he tells me he doesn't to do it anymore. Customer support cancelled second order for him. When I reached to support they explained that seller cannot deliver. What a waste of 5 days. Totally useless service with poor support. Do they screen sellers beforehand? Why would sellers post gigs if they are not capable to deliver? Should they be able to sell gigs at all
Poor service. No access to telephone or realtime interaction with customer service.
Attempts to pay are convoluted and result in double billing or incorrect (overcharge) billing.
Probably a scam.If not... the Bozo Brigade.
I was a successful seller on Fiverr with the name "ammarishot" until they disabled my account and promised they would give funds to my account within 365 days (I had earned around 100 USD in my account). It's been over 2 years and I still haven't gotten the money that I worked so hard for. This is terrible business practice and I don't know how they're still up.
Fiverr is the right place if you have skills and want to be your own boss.
Nowadays it is the time of freelancers and other people who can work from the privacy of their homes.
And the great thing is that such people can earn more than the average person doing a 9 to 5 job. Although I must say that I have a huge respect for blue collar people too.
But I feel like I am more productive when I can choose the schedule I want and when I can set the deadlines for myself.
I've been a seller on Fiverr for over six years, providing custom services, with over 556 total orders and 99% positive reviews and 5-star ratings. Fiverr changed their leveling system without notifying me that these changes are being planned and are taking place, I was downgraded from Level 2 to No Level and my gigs were removed from the search results. On top of this their system was comparing my custom made approach with sellers that offer premade material and my services that naturally require more time were automatically interpreted as lower performance. After this terrible experience I tried to reform some of my gigs in order to be more competitive and received 2 warnings for changes I wasn't aware happened and received this message:,,Your account has been flagged for offering inappropriate services that are not allowed in our marketplace." - while dozens of other gigs are still offering premade content on the platform. My goal is to encourage newcomers to thoroughly evaluate Fiverr before investing significant time and effort. By sharing my experience, I hope new freelancers can make informed decisions about where to invest their valuable skills and resources. Hopefully not on FIverr.
I think some of the buyers have found an old trick not to pay and make the sellers do some samples for them and they just flee from the scene. They never come back and ever give their request to you to get it done. I am a translator and I found myself alone in this field when I did a part of their project for two of the buyers on Upwork and Fiverr. She/he just requested my FB and TW?! To verify my profile!. I had a plan to make some money for my children guys!
I completed a gig and was paid for it on February 9, and will not get the money from Fiverr until March 9. I am absolutely outraged. Not only that, but Fiverr extracted a fee of $4 for their exceptionally awful services.
Basically, Fiverr is taking advantage of a job market that encourages employers to pay freelancers peanuts without the employer having to pay any taxes to the federal government. Fiverr takes a cut from the freelancer and the employer gets away without having to pay any fees. Shame on you, Fiverr!
The website itself is almost impossible to navigate.
Remember the following: You would never ever get your money back.
No refund process whatsoever. Say goodbye to your money.
I sent over five emails to the refund department and over a month's waiting period, and still no action.
I was so happy for using fiverr because i was earning good money but it doesn't stay for so long. Fiverr blocked my account with the total money of $418.5 (available and pending clearance that was about to clear in couple of days) and also 281.5 as upcoming earnings extra. I submit a ticket about this and they reply me that i have made "fraudulent purchase" (i never purchased anything from fiverr). I reply them and asked to provide me the prove about it and they never reply me back and the most worst thing they blocked my IP address so i can not access my account from my laptop or mobile but i can login from other computer which i never used for fiverr.
Please do not use fiverr.
I use fiver 3 times, my first experience was very positive, I was super happy!
I order two services on the same day, one of the sellers did the best to try to deliver what I was expecting, the second one, didn't response, I tried to contact Fiver but they do not have a contact number support, I tried to send an email, it didn't work neither.
The idea is a great but no every seller has the experience or the same care for the customers. The experience will depend 100% of how lucky you are on finding someone who is there to provide the service that you paid for. Because it's no customer service to complain
Cannot Cancel orders once submitted - strange software. In Help and Support - in my Orders there is Cancellations - but since there are no cancellations in my account it does not open that up. Irrespective - once submitted an order it cannot be cancelled. Sometimes turn around time is less than 16 hrs - when you need item clearly within the next few hrs - I just submitted an order and now cannot cancel it
Several years back I started using fiverr because I live in a rural area and finding local creative talent was difficult. This week I went online and ordered a service. I paid the asking price, they added a huge fee. $2.75 on a $50. Next came the absolute chaos. There is an inbox, a task box, a messenger box, and 27 other places where messages between buyers and sellers can go and NONE OF THEM ARE CONNECTED - NONE OF THEM. I almost lost my mind. Sometimes communication was in one place then another then on my phone but not on the site. My Doer did a great job so I tipped $10, another fee $2.55 - on a $10 charge is ridiculous. I won't be back fivver.
Beware of sellers and customer support on Fiverr. More than 80% of the sellers on Fiverr are conmen, scamsters, liars. They have a habit of marking the order as delivered without the exact delivery of product &/services.The sellers will manipulate you to give them 5 star feedback, force suspicious, fraudulent terms and sometimes abuse you. Customer support just sits pretty over all this scam and blunder. Instead they give account closure warnings to unsuspecting buyers from time to time.
I offered a translation gig on fiverr, 800 words for $5, in 2 days max. A buyer picked up on it and ordered several gigs at once, several times. Since they always ordered several gigs I ended up being late on most of the orders, which led to a bad score. The buyer told me they didn't care and they were satisfied with my work, never left a positive review though. At one point I ended up in hospital for a few days and wasn't able to respond to another order the buyer had placed. They cancelled the order and left a bad review and now my gig's score is so low, that no one will order it ever again. Also fiverr keeps $1 for every gig you sell, which is basically 20% and far too much, and it takes at least 2 weeks until you get your money. Never again.
I have been using Fiverr to get voiceovers and such and then I got a job where I needed some 3D work done. I found a seller with a job profile that matched the style I wanted, we talked he said he can do it then he gave me the complete opposite of what I asked. I asked for a refund and unfortunately Fiverr took his side, even if it is blatant that the work did not match what I wanted, plus when I wrote a bad review on the seller, Fiverr deleted it. Watch out
Ps. you can see the job description below and the items he gave me, you be the judge.
If you have a tedious task you just don't want to spend the time one, 5$ will get it done on fiverr. A brilliant concept and a great way to crowd source simple work. I use it often and for the most part get quality work done that is really worth the money.
Their site is impossible to traverse or communicate with anyone. They put in a wrong user ID and password information in my account. I have tried repeatedly to get in to my account but I cannot get in. Fiverr was able to charge my American Express quite easily but hey will not communicate with me, nor will they make things right!
The person in India with an American name was misleading and could not understand me either.
Answer: I used Fiverr for my company logo. The guy lives in Vietnam and speak minimal English. I paid for an upgraded package with an unlimited amount of revisions, 3 original logos, stationary and Facebook as well as Twitter page covers. What does unlimited mean if a revision takes 24 hours and each revision is correcting spelling mistakes or telling him you don't want a green dog in your logo, I want a natural looking dog. His response is "you choose font and gives you a pale old lady stockings colour dog" instead of a white Dalmatian with black dots or a brown German Shepard. In the end I used an online translator to translate my requests from English to Vietnamese. He told me to sketch something and he'd make something. If I could sketch something then I would do my own logo. The one logo that I liked was the one I gave him all my ideas for. All he did was put it together in the right format. I was so frustrated with his other two attempts that I said ok give me the first logo with stationary and everything I've paid for. I got the most basic design, no stationary or headers. Did I go through customer service? OF COURSE! Throughout this whole ordeal. I described every little detail. Each time a different person would reply and say "I can understand your frustration and I will contact him". Only to have him return with the same dog in orange or turquoise and every time customer service would spit out the same line "I can understand your frustration and I will contact him. We see he is responding to you within 24 hours so for us that means you are trying to work things out. I want my money back! Sorry we can't give you your money back. The seller has received his money and its up to him to give you any money back if he so chooses. It was a dreadful experience. I ended up using an online logo maker and I loved it. PLUS it actually cost less. I'm now doing my own website. If you have the patience then try to do it yourself. Do NOT skimp on your website. The way the world is run today you want your website and all social media presence to correctly reflect your quality. If at the end I'm not happy with my website I will go to a professional and pay what it costs. Hope this helped and good luck
Answer: I know I have to wade through a lot of questionable sellers to get a good one. Happy hunting. There are good ones out there though.
Answer: All I can say id Fiverr is the BIGGEST SCAM going. Had to dispute the charges through my bank to get the money back
Answer: Stay far away from fiverr. I paid a guy to do some work and proved with third party techniques they used bots for fake views to my site. Yet this guy had many many great reviews. You cannot trust this site whatsoever. Stick with paypal as you most likely will get nowhere with fiverr.
Answer: If you want a site designed to steal credit card data from hard-working, civilized people, please use Fiverr. It is designed for one thing: to take your credit card data and leave you to deal with a mess. More details, reply or search for my previous posts.
Answer: I can only imagine you got swindled and feel bad about the fact you trusted someone. Don't feel bad, you did nothing wrong. There are sites who take the time to vet their sellers and then there are sites like Fiverr who let's anyone to join with zero check on their credentials. The entry into selling on Fiverr is so easy that it borders on ridiculousness. Anyone can lie about their location, experience, education, and just about any credentials. Some of them are really clever and mask their fake profile pictures and gig descriptions really well. Fiverr is so secretive about their vetting process, which I seriously doubt there is anything in writing, that you can't trust it. The seller's level is a joke - I've gotten cheated by ones with thousands of reviews. How they received literally a thousand or more review is mind boggling. Go back and check again, you'll notice like 99.9% of the million or so sellers all have 5 star reviews. All legitimate businesses have a combination of good and bad reviews, most average around 3/5 or if they are a really great business 4/5 but for a large company with like a million or so freelancers with zero credentials having 5/5 pretty much tells you there is something wrong. Like I said, you did nothing wrong. I hope you didn't lose too much money. Their philosophy is "We don't care how crappy the delivery was as long as the seller delivered you don't get your money back."
Answer: The answer is plain simple NO! You will get your followers, yes! But they are all bots, so you will lose 90% of the followers the same week, might as well throw this 5 bucks in the air.
Answer: There is very little in the world that is unique. You have to trust or spend a lot more $$$ or do it yourself
Answer: I would suggest having nothing whatsoever to do with Fiverr. When things go wrong - and that happens a LOT - there is no customer support line to call. They make it very difficult (in my own case, impossible) to resolve any problems. Read the evaluation reviews- they are extremely negative. My advice: find another site on which to offer your services. DG
Answer: I've had 28 orders and all but two were very satisfactory. Most were PDFform building or business card templates, but I had s few design logos for me then used the one I liked. Buyers: it's cheap. Remember that. When the service is good I tip generously then use the same person. I get great service, often in one day. When I order, I add express service and have yet to be disappointed. It's a business model without customer service. Face it. If you want customer service, go to Nordstroms or Nieman Marcus. Do a better job selecting your service provider; be clear in the order, and overpay.
The company has garnered a mixed reputation, with some customers appreciating the affordability and variety of services available, as well as the potential for building long-term relationships with freelancers. However, significant concerns dominate the feedback, particularly regarding delayed payments, unresponsive customer support, and a perceived lack of accountability for both sellers and buyers. Many users express frustration over unresolved disputes and the platform's failure to ensure transparency and quality among its freelancers. This highlights a critical need for improved customer service and stricter oversight to enhance user trust and satisfaction.
