EyeBuyDirect.com sells prescription eyeglasses and frames, as well as sunglasses.
The company has garnered a solid reputation for providing affordable, quality eyewear, with many customers praising the extensive selection and effective virtual try-on feature. Satisfaction with product quality is prevalent, particularly for prescription glasses, which are often noted as a cost-effective alternative to traditional retailers. However, concerns regarding slow shipping times and excessive communication, particularly following orders, have been highlighted as significant drawbacks. While most customers express overall satisfaction, the inconsistency in delivery and customer service experiences indicates room for improvement in operational efficiency and support responsiveness.

This company is THE WORST. They pretend they have good costumer service but it's all false. They have new representatives responding to each email and those reps do not take the time to read the email thread from before then. How is anyone supposed to get anything resolved ever?
After finally finding a pair of glasses I liked and getting my prescription lenses completed, I was pretty satisfied. Then, about 2 months ago, the nosepads on my glasses started irritated me. They spot on my nose where they hit would be red and swollen and itchy. It has continued to get worse and worse. I reached out to eyebuydirect to explain the issue and ask if they have any suggestions or could be of any assistance. Their response is that the nosepads are made from plastic and since I'm over warranty (which is only 14 days), there's nothing they can do. And then followed up with a BOGO offer for Mother's Day. SERIOUSLY?! Take a look at the photos...
Great product for a great price too! Delivery was on time as well!
Bad company.
Good way to loose money.
No way to explain them in English what you need.
Term bifocal glasses for them is Distance and reading,
But if you need glasses for distance and car dashboard you are in big trouble.
You have to find English speaking company.
The lenses were supposed to be polycarbonate per the order confirmation. Turns out they were not. I fell and one of the lenses shattered. Required major surgery to my face to remove the lodged pieces and repair the muscle and nerve damage below the eye. Over $25,000 in medical bills. Expert examination of the lens showed that it was an acrylic and not polycarbonate. Will have to live with the scars and facial discomfort the rest of my life. If you purchased glasses with polycarbonate lenses from EyeBuyDirect I highly recommend that you have them verified by an optometrist.
This company is dishonest. This makes the third time I've ordered from them and had issues. I returned my first two orders and hoped this time would be different. Should have learned my lesson. Be aware, your prescription will likely be close, but not accurate if you take them to an optometrist to have them read. 2 pairs and not a single lens was correct. Not one.
Every time my glasses have arrived at the end of the 14day shipping window or late. This time my glasses are awol. The company lied and said they were already in transit. They provided a shipping number that CLEARLY indicated the glasses haven't left their facilities.
They're just dishonest and the prescriptions, while better than not having glasses at all, are usually not spot-on. I recommend using other businesses if you can afford them. All of my transactions with ebd have been incredibly disappointing and every interaction with their customer service has been grossly inadequate. Don't shop here.
They used to have great service but I recently tried to return a broken pair and got a huge runaround over $50 replacement. They were only 6 months old and broke while putting them on. Obviously a mfg defect. Cheaply made frames that don't last with little or no recourse.
My teenage son broke his glasses and was walking around squinting at everything, so fast delivery was a priority. I looked at three other websites, and it was going to take up to two weeks to receive the glasses. Eyebuydirect said they could deliver in two days. To my surprise the glasses came the very next day! My son could see fine and the glasses fit well. No complaints here.
Be careful when using this site.
-Cool search functions,
-But difficult to navigate for changes,
-And has inaccurate info about some of the frames and sizes available, etc.
-Online chat is like talking to a robot even when you get a person. They simply quote policy. I confirmed it's not a third party provider.
The 2-day offer has fees and restrictions which are not spelled out with ANY detail on the "Terms and Conditions" of the offer.
- Doesn't state this is only valid for select frames
- Doesn't state the amount of the expedited handling fee ($29) but refers to it. Lol
- Doesn't state the details of how the production timing actually works
- Doesn't state the shipping methods and timing for receipt actually works
I followed all of the "details" in their published "Terms and Conditions" but when I called and actually spoke to a nice woman on the phone, I was told no. There's more details than you see there. When I asked how I would have known that, she started directing me to their About page and then look for their Site Map and follow that to the offer. LOL REALLY?
Companies that commit such acts of omission are either unethical or have something to hide. If they are good upstanding corporate citizens looking out for their customers' best interests, then they would have no problem fully and completely informing the public of their offerings... including ALL of the pros, cons and costs... then something is not right with that firm and it's management. Let the prospective customer decide after being fully informed. Hello... we're not idiots out here.
I broke my glasses and ordered these cheap frames as an emergency pair to get me by until I can go get my prescription updated. My plan was to go back and buy what would have been a $300 order once I have my new prescription.
Obviously, that won't happen with these guys.
Love trying on the glasses and love the prices--thanks!

Ended up being. Wrong color but they worked ok so I kep them
This was not the first time that I ordered from EBD. The first time went fine. This time, the order shipped without confirmation, finishing before i was done. It did not allow me to select USPS shipping so I was forced to spend $20 on shipping. Then, after I paid for premium shipping by force, the glasses still took 16 days to arrive to my home. Extremely dissatisfied by the service.
I love my new glasses they were more then I expected for the price I payed
I didn't love the frames when they showed up- quality is good, but the shape was not what it appeared to be in the photos. Also took ages to arrive- I'd even paid for express delivery.
The frames are always true to their picture and the quality is amazing!

My prescriptions were questioned but no follow up. My order was put on hold but I had to find this out myself by going to the website.
I had a pair of glasses that I wore maybe 20 times (not my everyday pair) that broke out of nowhere (while on my face) so I contacted EyeBuyDirect to take advantage of their 365-Day Product Guarantee. I ordered a replacement pair that cost less than my original, and expected a refund since they say on their site and in their customer service email footers, "If you decide to replace your glasses with a new pair of lesser value, we will refund you the difference."
When I asked about the refund they initially accused me of not taking care of my glasses properly which was offensive (and honestly if that was a concern: why not have me send them back? I have several pairs I've purchased online from other retailers that are 5+ years old - I'm not the problem here). After I disputed that accusation they offered me a refund for less than I was owed ($5.75 and it should have been $8.02 as that was the cost difference between my original frames and the replacement frames) then when I questioned the amount they told me actually I wasn't due a refund at all because the order was over 5 months ago. I asked where this policy was listed and then they said it was because it had been over 120 days (which is 4-ish months...) that they would only issue me store credit (a policy they seem to have made up on the spot as it is listed nowhere on their site, invoice, etc).
Why advertise a 365-Day Product Guarantee and that "if you decide to replace your glasses with a new pair of lesser value, we will refund you the difference" if you won't? They also state that, "if you decide to replace your glasses with a new pair of higher value, the difference you are responsible for covering the difference" - I bet they actually adhere to that.
Get your glasses elsewhere. There are so many sites with quality products (like Zenni and Glasses USA), and actual policies that they advertise and stick to.

I usually buy fabrics from modes4you and love them. It is my first choice every time I need fabrics: good quality, original and beautiful. Congrats
Answer: Or you can be like me and have not received your order after more than a month of waiting. Granted, I'm in Guam, but given that the USPS works here pretty much the same way it works in the states, no other retailer has any problem getting their packages to me in a timely manner. The company has sent me two different tracking numbers for the same package. The tracking report from the post office says the package was supposed to be here 12 days ago and the last time it appears the package was scanned was 24 days ago. I have emailed the company multiple times and every time they reply with some generic apology and continue to stall. The package clearly got lost in the mail, I get that and I am typically a reasonable person but any respectable merchant intent on providing good customer service in today's online marketplace would have owned up to the issue and offered a refund or have already shipped out a replacement product. They've done neither. Does it mean they are bad people running a bad business? Probably not. However, it does mean there are probably better companies out there to give your business to who won't take so long to get you your glasses.
Answer: It depends on the frame. Some are plastic, some are metal, and there are other materials used as well. The descriptions will indicate the materials they are made out of. I've ordered 3 pairs from EBD ($6 and $9 pairs--cheapest there are) and they are excellent quality. An equivalent pair of frames alone from the store would have cost $150+, not including lenses.
