Our insurance provider wants us to use Express Scripts so on Nov 3 contacted my dr and had him send refills to ES. I added my info to their on-line acct and then waited. 3 weeks and 4 phone calls later (speaking with reps I could barely understand) I am done. Yesterday I finally asked to speak to a supervisor and he agreed to credit my account the $261.23 I had paid for the refills which were still "on-hold". I then had to call my dr again who cancelled the refills and then faxed RiteAid to submit scripts to them. Never again with ES even if I have to pay a few $ more to use local pharmacy.
These people are denying a medication for me that has been prescribed by my doctor due to medical necessity. Unbelievably terrible customer service. When I asked for the appeal paperwork they said they couldn't give me that either. When I notified her that I was recording the conversation she agreed to send it. Check out their reviews on Better Business Bureau. I cannot believe BCBS delegates their prescription coverage to them. They're quite obviously criminals who
If I could give zero, I would. Express Scripts is the most difficult pharmacy plan ever. If you have specialty drugs they make it extremely difficult to fill. They question the doctors repeatedly for the diagnosis they have been repeatedly given. They question it every time delaying life sustaining medications. These medications are not free. We pay large sums for the medication. Their customer service is rude, unhelpful and unknowledgable of their own rx's and your coverage. It is a shame employer force you to take Express Scripts. They are a monopoly company that needs to be monitored. They are owned/a part of CIGNA.
I have never had so many problems getting prescriptions filled. The auto-fill rx never get refilled without multiple calls and a month or longer late. A prescription that requires prior authorization turns into a full time job just to get it filled. The "customer service" line amounts to an agent reading from a script. They keep reciting the same line from the script. I wish I had something positive to say but I don't. If you have a choice in rx plans choose anything but express scripts. Also take a look at BBB reviews and any other you can find. I couldn't find any site that had a remotely positive overall rating - other than this site.
Recently changed my insurance, was awaiting a script due on 4/4/23, was informed because of my insurance the script was no longer active, not because the doctor didn't order it but due to insurance. No option to self pay, no notification of not refilling it. Called express scripts response this is their policy. What a foolish policy. Your insurance determines whether you need the medication, not your doctor. Seven years of using express scripts, when my insurance gets straightened out, I will not be returning.
I am scheduled to pickup my OZEMPIC today, pharmacies tells me my provider express scripts is charging me $400. I cannot afford that. And it was less than $50 last month. Ozempic is not like vitamins (you cannot skip taking), its for diabetes. Is express scripts responsible if any fatal complications arises today or tomorrow?
What can I do? Insurance is not free. And its automatic deduction to our paycheck. Not cheap.
I also tried calling twice and no answer on phone- I am still on hold until now - 4:38pm eastern time 06-22-2021
I have had a poor experience with this company as they claim I owe money on a medication I never received and they then turned me over to collection on a medication.
We'll never got the medication and not sure what it was called. When I talked to them, number 1 they placed me on hold, then send me to this representative who doesn't know what I was talking about, and then put me on hold once again.
Express script left Several messages on my phone and then when I called them back they act like they don't know What they're talking about. They're very RUDE and Autumn even hung up on me on October 14 at 8:20 AM. Just because they don't want to deal with the phone calls. They are the most miserable customer service I've ever had to deal with!
This company is a scam! Stay away from this scam. They will waste your time to refill a simple prescription. Harass you to the core so that you give up and they save the money. Worst company ever existed on earth.
13 days later, still waiting for my Rx and when I'll get it, the order will not be completed. They still blame it to the doctor's office. Even thou two Rx were made the same day, same time and from the same doctor's office, after 17 days (from the day the order was placed) I will only get one Rx instead of the two Rx the doctor sent (e-script). I found out that do business with them is very stressful and, yes, it is unhealthy.
Have used ExpressScripts for over a decade, but am currently between full-time jobs and healthcare plans. I tried to refill a prescription and pay for it 100% out-of-pocket and they said they can no longer fill my prescriptions since I no longer have healthcare. How is this something that happens in 2019?
Keep calling telling us we have late balance. We call get told we have no balance and call didn't come from them. We stopped using them in october 2021!
If I could give them a minus 100 stars I would! This company is a joke!
Customer service is the worst. Used website to order, easy right? WRONG! 10 calls from me and my doctor to these morons and still could not get my medication correct, yes I am a diabetic. Never had this issue with CVS Caremark. Could not even understand 2 of the people. Had to drive 2 hours to the doctors office twice to get sample to get by until this was resolved... 4 weeks after order initiated. Wish I could give poop emoji instead of star.
The pre-authorization is a joke. Preexisting condition and the company my spouse works for gets sold and this is the new prescription provider. Now instead of simply going down to CVS to get my prescription I have to deal with this poor excuse for a company and try to get my prescription approved in order for them to deliver it to me. A complete waste of a company that slows down the process greatly, or simply denies coverage.
I take several medications requiring a PA. Some I have taken for decades. Nothing has changed, but my PAs gets denied. Then it becomes an all-out fight to get it approved. Express Scripts tells my doctor's nurse to go to www.covermymeds.com and do the PA there. She does so but it still gets denied. Same medications, same condition(s), but still get denied. Then I have to appeal. Waiting since mid-November on one, with no medication. Fortunately, this particular one that I'm appealing now is not a life sustaining medication. The State of South Carolina and PEBA made a huge mistake subcontracting with Express Scripts, but they were the "low-bid." You get what you pay for!
Oh wait, getting your perscription medicine shouldn't be a joke - it should be very planned, timely, and serious. So saying ES is a joke is a horrible and serious thing. All the insurances want you to use mail order pharmacies and it's cheaper than using local pharmacies. It would sure be nice if the services actually worked. IMHO ES is seriously broken and it seems they sont care that is broken. Big business and collusion with the pharmacy insurance companies allowing it to combine to survive.
My recommendation after having tried to use their services is STAY AWAY, pay a little more and user local pharmacy. Sadly...
If you can avoid them, you will be better off. They are incredibly difficult to deal with. Local pharmacies are much better. I hate Express Scripts! They suck!
They don't want to give me the amount of medication that my doctor wants me to have. I can only have a smaller amount. I just suffer the rest of the time. Also, I can't call them on the phone because I can't get anyone who speaks English clearly enough for me to understand. Today I tried 3 times before giving up. I left a message for my doctor, instead, to see if she can call them about a prescription and see if she can understand them. I understand they want to save money by outsourcing their call center to Somalia or wherever, but patients lives are at stake and we need to understand what they are talking about and we need our prescriptions that keep us alive so that we can work more hours and give them the rest of our money. When they do their job well, it's great. But other times, they are useless, and sometimes dangerous for the patient.
It toots 10 days to receive a prescription, could not reach a doctor to request a refill. Every time doctors send a prescription you need to call them and request it and approve it. First line of customer service needs to get more training, I need always to talk to a supervisor to get my medication. They don't even deserve the one star They suck
Absolutely horrible customer service. On every phone call the representatives seem to be guessing or making excuses as to why a prescription can't be refilled. They constantly put the burden on the customer to contact the doctor in order to receive information they claim to need.
Answer: Fairly easy. They are just rude and incompetent. Delaying filling prescriptions.
Answer: It's a legit company with the worlds worst service
Answer: No. And since hell would have to freeze over before I ever actually do purchase anything from Express Scripts I want to have a success story.
Answer: I pay a monthly charge which is part of my Medicare Supplement Insurance. The total premium is $439 a month but it also covers other charges Medicare does not. Then for each drug Express Scripts charges a maximum of $20 for 90 pills if generics are used. Non generics depend on the medicine; they can be much more expensive.
Answer: I had no choice, it is the only option through my employer.
