The vehicle was clean and new. There is a lack of contractual matters. The contract differs from the online order by price.
And they lovely offer you an far overpriced additional insurance. It makes you fell sad if you regret.
Positive: driver and clerk at the car pick up location were very polite and funny. Really appreciate!
Negative: only thing why I give 4 instead of 5 stars is because there was no information on how to arrive to the pick up office. It was by luck that I got out of the airport and saw the Europcar van.
It was not clearly described on our booking, that there is no Europcar counter directly at the airport, but rather we had to look for an Assistant who brings you to the rental station which is a bit off the airport. Apart of that, the service was good and friendly.

My experience was mostly good, however, on the last day of the rental (02 May) I was hit by another car from the rear and Europcar were meant to collect the police report and forward me a copy. This is still pending and I desperately need these documents to complete my insurance claim.
My car works five and getting it was fairly straight forward. I had good service at the shop and the staff was open to questions and requests. As a German I was kind of surprised by a minimal first auf kit (almost empty). But it meets the countries standards. I still hope that a big company like Europcar would walk the extra mile and provide a proper first aid kit.
Process is frustrating. Phone number on app was incorrect. Walked to new Europcar booth in terminal. Instructions to find shuttle bus. Walk around. Find shuttle bus. Taken to Europcar, then stood outside bus for another 20 minutes while we waited for other customers to process their hire. I had booked the car for 2 pm, 3 months prior. Received the car at 3 pm, to then proceed for our long planned drive. Too much mucking around.
Very professional staff. They explained us everything, they checked the car and the scratches that were already present. They told us how to come back. But the desk payment could be speeded up. We waited in the queue for more than 30 minutes at the airport.

When booking the car rental it was stated that this was "on airport". On arrival I had to take a transfer bus to pickup my car which is not what I expected for an "on airport" service. When we eventually arrived at the office there was an excessive wait (almost 30 minutes) before we were able to get into the car and start our holiday.

The car was good but the office for pick up and drop off is outside the airport and nobody told us. Also the mail confirmation sends to a direction that is not the location. This also happened to me in Naples (italy), Dalaman (turkey) and in Crete(greece). The employees said nothing and i lost a lot of time on holidays. Last time with europcar

Europcar Customer Service in Greece
Staff were uniformly helpful once we reached their off-site facility, and they upgraded us to a larger vehicle at no additional charge when the size we had reserved was not available. Check-in was smooth and the staff explained completely the charges on our bill. They made sure we knew how much time to allow ourselves to return the car before our departing flight. All good.
However, there was no representative at the group of car rental companies inside the Athens airport to direct customers to the shuttle, and no shuttle waiting in the shuttle parking area when we located that area. We took a cab to their off-site office, which was hard to find even for our cab driver. It will be good for the company when their office is back in the airport building.

Overall good experience, however it took quite some time at pick-up to accomodate my request of chaining 2 consecutive rentals I had, the additional driver was left out from the second rental and I was charged for it on the first one despite my privilege status (which clearly states the additional driver is at no extra charge). The staff was very helpful though, probably just unexperienced. The office and their fleet is brand new and we got the newest/best car in Greece ever before (any location).

Over all excellent with great service, except the instruction for collection was wrong as they indicated that need to go to departures instead of arrival and there was no reference to Parking 5, where the pick up was supposed to be.

We were given no details for picking up the car. We were surprised there wasn't an Europcar counter at the airport. Then two other rental car companies tried to tell us where to go. We wasted one hour before locating a shuttle.
The paperwork process was excruciatingly slow especially since we were exhausted and frustrated. Very disappointing start with only a little apology.
On the plus side, the car is doing great.

Car condition was fine as an international standard service My main complaint is about the guaranteed money deposit
I rent a car for 71 Euro ( 1 day) and they charged deposit 290 Euro. I accepted this because in a week can return this deposit money. I called Europe car office in Athens about the date of the return deposit.
The telephone operator " Sofia" ( because she doesn't want to say her full name) was telling me " after 21 days return, but you should call the credit card company about details. We have no responsibility about return money" I was surprised by this attitude and nobody explained that much takes time to return the money when I rent a car. Also, nothing was written about the depositing money condition in the contract. Could you find out how many days need to return the money to my credit card? ( I have no idea about " Their card company " ViVa wallet", she doesn't even inform card company information.

As a company, we block a security deposit on the credit card at pickup, as well as the estimated cost of the rental. After the vehicle has been returned, the bank will release the deposit on the cardholder's credit card. Depending on the bank the customer uses, the estimated time of release varies.

I was welcomed friendly and quickly got the car but it is very small, no even close to what I expect as a SUV category vehicle. We are a family of four and were barely able to stow our luggage in the trunk.

Everything okay so far. The car's trunk was described as "4 suitcases". We booked for 5 persons and wanted to travel with 4 cabin size pieces (55x40x23) plus one large suitcase. Our own car (also compact) could easily take this. But this car could take not more than the 4 small pieces. It was just coincidence, that my wife got sick and the large suitcase was not with us. Otherwise this had been a huge issue.
